My cousin came back from Iraq for over a year now. And up until about three weeks ago, he was fine and, strangely, the same person he was before he went. He always said that the only reason people in his company were in the military was because it was court mandated. The reason he went was because he wanted to protect our family members over in Israel, whether he knew about them or not, from the extremists that were attacking them. Well last night, I came home, and it was just him and me because my other cousin was working, and my uncle was out with his friends for the night. Well my other cousin came home and asked me where Dominick was. I told him he was in the study. He came back and said no he wasn't. Well I knew he didn't leave because his car was still there and I was centrally located between the front door and the back door so I would have heard him if he tried to leave either of those ways. So I said I would check the upstairs and Chris said he would check the garage. Well, just as I began to make my way up the stairs, I hear a blood curling scream from Chris. I run outside and find him over his brother, with his brother passed out with a bottle of medication next to him.
Well, then we went to the hospital and found out that he took almost he whole bottle and was lucky to not have died, or been in a coma. They also found a letter in his pocket, saying that the only reason he tried to do what he did was because, when he was looking for a job, he ran into someone who was in his company, and it reminded him of everything.
I feel really bad for Chris because he is going around saying he knew he could have done more. I don't know how much you can do for someone whose seen more than a person should see in five lifetimes.
