Well, there isn't any school today, so I figured that I would make up a story just for the heck of it. Here it goes...
Elemental gatekeepers- Journal entry one. "I don't know who you are, or how you acquired my journal, but my name is Skylar Stevenson, and I am the elemental gatekeeper of the sky. I gained this title only a few days ago, on my fifteenth birthday. I knew that my birthday was a special day, but I had no idea how special. First, let me tell you about me. You already know that I'm 15, so I'll go on to my physical features. I'm five feet, seven inches, and I have a lanky build. I have some muscle, but I'm not exactly built like the incredible hulk. I have metallic grey eyes, like storm clouds or maybe Galvanized steel. I play lead guitar in a band, but I don't think that I'll be doing that anymore. This is great and all, but now I'm going to tell you the real reason that I'm writing this stupid journal. 1. because Mr. nimbus told me to and 2. Because of what happened yesterday.
I wish I could tell you that yesterday started like any other day, but it didn't. Lightning from the heavens carved itself through the sky, and struck the ground, so that it seemed that the sky and ground were having a feud. That did'nt look good for my OUTDOORS birthday party. First off, let me tell you that my birthday party felt worse that impaling myself with a rusty knife. My mom, Stacy must of forgot how old I was AGAIN, because every year she got me a lame birthday clown that made me want to throw myself off a cliff, or burrow to the center of the earth. Anyway, it was a stormy Saturday, and I was outside, with my little sister and a few other brave souls that had nothing better to do, watching a clown make a Zebra out of balloons. I was thinking of what my will would say, when something strange, almost creepy happened. Time seemed to stop. No, I'm serious, it did. There was a streak of thunder still frozen in the sky, one of my friends rooted to his seat in mid yawn and that fly that kept messing with me was stuck in the air, right above my nose. It seemed that I was the only one who could move, or even notice. Let me rephrase that. Me, and the clown. When time had frozen, his back was to me, but as soon as I saw what happened, he did too. Slowly, his head turned around, and there was a solemn look on his red and white painted face, and an eternally wise look in his eyes. To put it simply, I flipped out. Now, most of the time, I'm a pretty level headed guy, except when I see spiders, or freaky time freezing clowns. I must say that this wasn't a picture perfect moment. I started running around my back yard, screaming like chicken little, as if the sky were falling, or some crazy dude that escaped from the whack house. After about five minutes, the clown said in a voice deeper than before, "come to celestial hill to assume your rightful place as an elemental gatekeeper". "I gotta tell you, that calmed me down, and it sure got me thinking, What in the world is this guy talking about? Before I actually got the chance to ask him, a bolt of lightning struck him, and he was gone, starting time again. After this little incident, I asked everybody and anybody that would listen to me about a kind of creepy clown that was just here a second ago. They all gave me a look like I was a fruit loop, or like they had seen what happened when I saw the clown's head do a 180. Eventually, I gave up on trying to jog their memory, and turned to the more important matter at hand.
There was no mistaking what just happened, or ignoring it. For some strange reason, I felt that my whole life was leading up to this moment. It's a hard feeling to describe, like knowing that you should NOT eat your mom's meatloaf if you want to live, or like reflexes. Somehow, I knew that my life, and the lives of many other people rested on me getting to the top of celestial hill as soon as possible. I knew what I had to do, so it was time to do it. I sprinted into the garage, grabbed my mountain bike, and zipped down the driveway. I had no idea what lay ahead, but one thing was for sure. I would be ready.
