Today's world of television is much different from the television world I used to know. CBS has more crime dramas than the Detroit Lions have losses, ABC has cancelled a lot of its lineup (including one of my favorites Pushing Daises), FOX still has nothing of interest to me, and NBC is... well... struggling. It seems harder for me to find a tv show I can actually sit through and watch, but I do find something. Seeing as this is a website dedicated to tv, I think its high time I write a blog about it. So as of the new year, this is what I'm watching (in no particular order).
1. Momma's Boys (NBC) - To my surprise, I can't get enough of this show. I think it has to do with the fact that its a Bachelor-esque show with a unique twist i.e. the moms live with the girls their sons go out with. Nuts, but I just hope NBC doesn't keep pumping out new seasons to keep itself afloat. I suggest letting this season end, and if they do start a new one, doon't premire it until fall.
2. Law and Order: SVU (NBC) - I can thank my sister for getting me addicted to this show via USA network reruns. I love the mystery and the story lines always catch my attention. Dare I say it is a must watch for crime drama fanatics.
3. ER (NBC) - I loved this show ever since I was a little kid. Through all its seasons, it has maintained the excellent quality I grew up watching. While this is the final season, I have never missed an episode. If you have a spare hour and wanna watch a real hospital show (that means you Grey's Anatomy) stop by at 9 o'clock.
4. The Soup (E!) - I never ever miss an episode of this show. Joel McHale (I think that's how you spell it) pokes fun at the week in popular culture and tv, and points out all of the stupidity that is out there in the world of television. Funny for anyone, but maybe not children.
5. Prototype This! (Discovery Channel) - Going into college next year for engineering, this is a personal favorite. These guys get to live out any nerds dream. They built real sized rock em' sock em' robots and a car that can rise above other traffic. Crazy stuff, and even crazier they allow them to build the things they do.
6. Pushing Daisies (ABC) - This show is like a Dr. Seuss murder mystery show. Though the only thing I don't like is the constant focus between the show and the piemaker and Chuck's relationship. I don't like lovey dovey stuff, but the rest of the show is what keeps me coming back.
7. Ramsay's Kitchen Nightmares (BBC, FOX) - I absolutely love Hell's Kitchen, and this is just another example of Gordon Ramsay being Gordon Ramsay. Only he criticizes people about their whole resuraunt. Me likey.
8. The Graham Norton Show (BBC) - Thank goodness for this british talk show. Graham Norton puts his guests and his audience in funny situations, does outrageous antics, and can make you laugh till it hurts. Saturday's at nine, I'm glued to the couch and the tv.
