*MAJOR SPOILERS!!!*

I went to the midknight (pun intended) showing of The Dark Knight, eagerly anticipating what I thought could possibly be the greatest movie of the summer. My theater had a promotion that the first 250 people in line would get a T-shirt that has a picture of the Joker's face on it. I'm wearing the shirt right now. My theater had 5 screens for the midnight showing, and every single one of them was sold out.

Now, to the movie. This movie is definitely the best movie of the summer, and could quite possibly be the best movie of the entire year. Every single cast member had an incredible performance, especially the late Heath Ledger as the Joker. Every time Ledger came onto the screen, he would steal the entire scene. He was just so amazing in the movie. Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman also had an incredible performance, and much like Ledger, would steal the scene. The special effects were also really good in the movie, especially with Two-Face's left side. The cinematography was excellent as well. The plot of the movie was just so smart, deep, and complex (not the Pirates of the Carribean kind of complex) that it's just so superior.

Now, the only thing I have to complain about is Two-Face. I don't understand why they let such a great character die in the end when he could've been such a great villain in the third one.

Other than that, this movie was extremely superb. I highly suggest you watch it on the IMAX, because the experience is probably much better. Seriously, go buy your tickets now (unless your theater is sold out of tickets, which it could possibly be). Also, if you come out of the theater missing Heath Ledger, don't worry; we all did.

*MAJOR SPOILERS!*

Last night, I visited an old friend I hadn't seen in a long time. His name was Henry. Henry Jones, Jr. Indy is back, and he's better than Temple of Doom. However, saying he's better than ever wouldn't quite be the case. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull is a fantastic movie, with the great action scenes, including a chase scene at Marshall College (the place Indy works), an atomic bomb, and much more. There were a little bit too much special effects, but not enough to be noticable (until the ending). The creatures in this one were ants, which were really cool because unlike the other creatures, the ants wanted to kill both Club Indy and the Commies. The actual Crystal Skull was really cool looking, and I liked the fact that it was magnetic. Shia Labeouf was great in this movie, as was Cate Blanchett, arguably the most bad-ass villainess in the Indiana Jones series. The Commies were also arguably more bad-ass than the Nazis.

However, Harrison Ford wasn't as great as these guys were, but it could be because he was old. Also, the screenwriters decided they were going to mix Indiana Jones with Juno for this one, as Indy seemed a lot more sassy. Also, I thought that Marion Ravenwood wasn't as important as I thought she would be, because she seemed to be there only to hug Indy and drive a car. Mac also seemed to be less important, because he didn't really have as much a backstory as other bad guys (Mac isn't cool enough to be called a villain) such as Belloq. Some of the lines were also pretty cheesy, and they reminded me of the Star Wars prequels.

*HERE ARE WHERE MOST OF THE SPOILERS ARE!!!*

Now, my biggest complaint: the ending. The ending was the most un-Indiana Jones ending in all three of the movies. I actually was about to leave because I thought they were playing a 1950's sci-fi movie over my precious Indy! The crystal skull is actually an alien skull, and there's an alien skeleton without a skull (there's 12 other skeletons, each complete with a skull). Spalko places it on its neck, and then starts this special effects bonanza where we learn, one, the aliens are from another dimension, two, the Mayans learned their master technology from the aliens (who were their gods), three, that the temple where the resided was actually their spaceship, and four, that all 13 skeletons were actually one alien, and when they're giving knowledge to Spalko, they combine to create one alien (Spalko literally explodes from all the knowledge). Then, once Club Indy escapes (with Mac dieing), the entire temple crumbles (after the aliens leave, of course). Does this sound like an Indy ending? No way! It doesn't!

However, all the great things that Indy's known for makes up for all of these negative things. If you love Indiana Jones with a passion, you'll love this movie. If you don't like Indiana Jones, you shouldn't be reading this review. All the action, the excitement, and the fun from Raiders of the Lost Ark and The Last Crusade (Temple of Doom didn't have it, sorry) that you've known to come and love is in this one, and if you despised Temple of Doom like I did, the Indiana Jones trilogy will now go as follows: Raiders of the Lost Ark, The Last Crusade, and Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Again, if you love Indy, go see it. Right now. Do it. Do it NAUGHW!!!

*SPOILER ALERT PRESENT THROUGHOUT THIS REVIEW!*

Monster movies a few and far between here in America. The only American monster movie that's famous throughout the world is King Kong, which doesn't even really count as a monster movie (Godzilla is Japanese, just so we get that out of the way). Now, here comes along Cloverfield, a movie that had one of the most ingenious advertising campaigns with its viral marketing so geeks could be geeks and check out these websites (yes I'm included). Since I did check the Internet every day, I had very high expectations for this movie. However, I am happy to say that this movie was HIGHER than my expectations. Yes, higher. The movie worked because of the following reasons:

1. No plot. Yes, Transformers had more of a plot than Cloverfield, but Cloverfield didn't need one because you felt like you were right there with them trying to get to Beth and avoid the monster.

2. The camera. One of the main reasons people wanted to see this movie was because it was filmed on a camcorder. The camcorder effect worked extremely well, but sometimes you'd wish Hud or whatever his name is would point the camera up instead of at the ground.

3. The actors. This movie would be terrible if it had A-list actors, so smart choice of J.J. to cast unknowns. They did very well in the movie.

4. The monster. The beast, which looked a lot like the aliens from War of the Worlds, was great. The fact that it spawned little "children" also added greatness to the movie.

5. Following the people. The fact that the movie followed the people instead of the monster made it feel like you were right next to them, either partying or escaping.

6. The visual effects. The monster looked very realistic, but the "children" looked a lot more realistic than the monster itself. The Statue of Liberty's head looked a tad bit fake, but that's alright since it wasn't essential to the plot. The explosions also looked great.

The blood was a little much for me. I thought there was a tad bit too much blood, so if you're queasy of blood, just walk out after the "children" are done attacking and buy yourself some popcorn and a drink. When you come back, most of the blood should be over. I also felt kind of strange about how tough the camera was. If there was a camera that could survive falling out of the sky in a helicopter, I would buy it. Other than that, you should see this movie. Right now. Then discuss it with your friends, who most likely already saw it.

This is by far the best animated movie ever created. Beowulf is a fantastic film, even if the second half of the movie doesn't match the poem. The acting is superb (for an animated movie), the plot is great, and the action scenes are superb....

This is by far the best animated movie ever created. Beowulf is a fantastic film, even if the second half of the movie doesn't match the poem. The acting is superb (for an animated movie), the plot is great, and the action scenes are superb. However, the very best feature of Beowulf is, of course, the animation itself. The animation is so realistic that sometimes you forget it's an animated movie. They fixed the creepy eye thing from the Polar Express, and the faces look so much like they're actual faces. The movie does so much to make sure that Beowulf's "family jewels" aren't shown, so that's good for the rating. Speaking of the rating, how in the heck on God's green Earth was this movie PG-13? With limbs flying everywhere, blood spilling on the camera, and Angelina Jolie's nakedness, you'd expect this to be R material. Apparently it isn't. That is why this movie gets 4 and a half stars. Also, the scream of Grendel at the most surprising part scared me so much that I'm not going to see it in IMAX 3-D (and I really wanted to). But don't pass the opportunity to miss this movie; it's absolutely a must-see film (unless you're squeamish of blood; then don't see it).

This movie is beautiful. Both the cinematography, the sets, the costumes, and the music is beautiful. However, there is one thing that isn't quite so beautiful in this film; the plot. It's as confusing as a blind man telling me how many fingers I'm holding up (and getting it correct without guessing). First Jude is trying to find his father, then he hangs out with Max, then he meets Lucy, then they go bowling (magnificent scene), THEN Max and him find an apartment, etc, etc. Although it's confusing, the movie is fantastic as a musical. The music is incredible (of course it is; it's the Beatles!) with actors ACTUALLY singing unlike that other musical about that high school and Vanessa Hudgens.

One thing that really surprises me is that this movie's PG-13. There's A LOT of smoking (cigarettes and pot both included), some language (I believe they say F%$! at least once), and they show Lucy's nipple. And it's PG-13. Very surprising. However, that shouldn't stop you from seeing the wonderful musical that is Across the Universe.

As a blockbuster, this movie succeeds. Filled with explosions and dazzling special effects, this movie is much like a roller coaster; a roller coaster shaped like a giant robot (preferably Bumblebee, so then I can take a ride in that 2009 Camaro....

As a blockbuster, this movie succeeds. Filled with explosions and dazzling special effects, this movie is much like a roller coaster; a roller coaster shaped like a giant robot (preferably Bumblebee, so then I can take a ride in that 2009 Camaro. :D) that's filled with much action and plenty of explosions. As a movie with the label of Transformers... well, it's only average. I just didn't have that feeling that I did when watching the TV show. All they really did was punch each other. Little to no use of their huge guns. But what made me extremely frustrated with this movie was that Optimus used his sword ONCE! ONLY ONCE! Optimus' sword was used countless times in the cartoons, why wasn't it used more than once? Anyways, if you're looking for a great blockbuster, look no further. If you're looking for a great Transformers movie... well, you can probably pick up the cartoon series on DVD at your local store.

One of the best films of all time, Citizen Kane is the movie that would be right next to the word "movie" in a Thesaurus. It's the groundbreaking film that explains the life of Charles Foster Kane through different people. The reason that one man goes around finding out about the life of Kane is that he's trying to find the significance of Kane's final word, "Rosebud". By the end of the movie, the one man soon founds out that one word cannot explain the life of a man, which is one of the many reasons why this film is the very best that cinema has to offer. A truly outstanding film, this movie is a must-own for anybody who loves movies. Or anybody who loves life.

Lucas brought two of the most memorable movie franchises ever, but has lost much talent in directing. If you notice, the older Star Wars films were much better than the newer. Other than that, he's great. Hopefully it'll be old George working on...

I saw this on the day it came out. Not at midnight, mind you, but still on May 4th. I saw it with my best friend, and we came wearing our Spider-Man shirts. His shirt was a retro Spider-Man from the first few comics, while mind had the symbiote (or Venom) logo. I liked this movie, though. It was a whole lot better than the first, but not as good as the second. Then again, Spider-Man 2 was one of the best super hero movies ever made, so it would be hard to make a sequel better than 2.

I thought the special effects were done incredibly well. Venom, Sandman, and everything else had a very real look, with a touch of fiction blended in.

But, there were many things they could've improved on. No offense, but Venom absolutly stunk. He got about 15 minutes of film time, and looked like a wimp. I also didn't like it that Eddy could just pull the symbiote back to reveal his face. That just made it less realistic. I also didn't like that they made Gwen Stacy look like a slut. I mean, during the movie, she all of a sudden switches from Eddy to Peter, without a scene saying that she broke up with Eddy. But the stupidist thing they did was add the part where the waitress walks up to Harry and asks him about the pie. Harry replies, "It's sooooo good!" I laughed so hard when he said that, because it was just completley unneccasary.

Other than that, this movie is great. I'd suggest seeing it.

P.S. If you do see it, do yourself a favor, and see it on the IMAX.

Little Miss Sunshine is my favorite comedy of all time. It not only made me laugh like I've never laughed before (you should've seen me when Olive did her dance), it shows that even Indie films can make lots of money. The film is great because of the script (Micheal Ardnt did win an Oscar). The script is just pure genious. The parts where you laugh are put exactly where they should be. Like when Frank is buying the porn magazines. He's talking to his ex,and you can here beeping in the backround coming from the sales clerk. Then Frank's ex sees how many porn mags he's buying, and it just gets funny.

The only reason that this movie didn't get 5/5 stars is because almost EVERYTHING that's funny happens because of Grandpa. I'm not saying that's bad, but the other characters should have funny things happen because of them.

This is a great movie, and I strongly recommend that you buy it (not rent it, BUY IT). Note: I noticed that Olive says that the song, Superfreak, is on track 12. On the Little Miss Sunshine CD, Superfreak is also on track 12. That's Superfreaky! (ya, bad pun)

This is the Batman movie we've been waiting for ever since Tim Burton's Batman. This movie is as dark as it is fantastic (Batman is supposed to be a dark figure). The music is good, and I love how the theme is a variation of the Batman TV show's theme. Christian Bale plays a wonderful Batman (the best Batman in a movie so far), Micheal Caine plays a very good Alfred, and Liam Neeson plays an exceptional Raz Al-Ghul. The cinematography is also excellent (of course it is, it was nominated for an Oscar!).

There are a few things they could have done better with, though. First off, why Scarecrow? Of all of Batman's awesome villans (*cough* Man-Bat *cough* Clayface *cough* *cough*)they had to pick Scarecrow (at least they added Raz Al-Ghul)! Scarecrow does play an important part, I just wish that they had a different villan. Another thing, why did they make it so Batman can fly? The only way he could fly in the comics is with his Bat-Jet.

Things aside, Batman Begins is probably one of the greatest super hero movies of all time. Now, we get to wait for sequel. Man, this could be awhile.

This is the very best of the Star Wars films. Why, you should ask? You can watch it over and over again, and you can NEVER get tired of watching it. There are very likeable characters in this movie, like Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, C-3PO, R2-D2,...

This is the very best of the Star Wars films. Why, you should ask? You can watch it over and over again, and you can NEVER get tired of watching it. There are very likeable characters in this movie, like Luke, Leia, Han, Chewbacca, C-3PO, R2-D2, Old Ben, and my personal favorite, Darth Vader. The plot is genius. The special effects were very good back in '77. The acting is superb. The film has many famous movie quotes ("May the Force be with you", " I have a bad feeling about this...", and "I have you now!" just to name a few). But perfection must come with a price. The only BAD thing really about this movie is the repetitivness of the music. I mean, don't get me wrong, the music is some of the most memorable of any music in any movie EVER, but whenever it goes back to the Empire, it plays the same tune EVERY SINGLE TIME!!! Just watch the film again, and you'll see what I mean.

This movie is tied for my favorite sci-fi movie ever (it's tied with 2001: A Space Odyssey). It could also be called one of the greatest movies of all time, which it is. If you haven't seen Star Wars (I refuse to call it A New Hope), get off your butt, and go BUY IT!!! RIGHT NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
