For nearly 2 years I've been waiting for the next season of one of my favorite TV shows, 24. And finally "24 Redemption" was broadcastet yesterday, the two-hour pre-season special of the upcoming season 7. After the past seasons definitely had some ups and downs I was curious if the quality of the show may rise - and the producers wouldn't disappoint me!
This tow-hour special was one of the best 24-episodes in years! Mainly because of the whole new setting: Jack didn't had the complete satellite-system of the U.S. to his disposal, he didn't have to worry about some stupid superior and most important: he showed that he finally does have a heart!
And nonetheless there were these few things which make 24 still one of the best TV-concepts of this century: some ruthless intrigues in the White House, the unique way of filming and the exciting soundtrack made "24 Redemption" a real rebirth of the series!
Let's just hope the season will be just as well!
Awesome games wherever you look! Do you remember a season which was packed with so much first ****games? I definitely don't! And this is kind of a dilemma because as a passionate gamer I want to play all of them - best right now!
Well I have to admit that my first buy was a disappointment: Far Cry 2 by far didn't live up to my expectations. But this didn't stop me from getting my hands on my Wish List!
Right now I'm experiencing WWII again with Brother's In Arms: Hell's Highway - and this time it seems to be worth the money because I'm really enjoying this tatical approach to the often seen genre of WWII-shooters.
Nevertheless I also desperately want to play the more "****cal" Call Of Duty: World At WarMirror's Edge for example or Dead Space. If my purse will give me the chance, this horrific Zombie-Space-Alien-Shooter will be my next game after BiA (and if not I'm gonna get Crysis Warhead). And of course there's also fresh supply for the device of my favorite console: Resistance 2 is definetely the PS3-game of the year - and I can't wait to get my hands on it! since I'm a fan of the series for years and love the new multi player of Modern Warfare. Moreover there are some games which offer a whole new concept:
Seems like this year, Santa will have to stop at GameStop for me!
Looking back I don't regret a thing. Missing school on a day like this is really the most little problem to care about. It was the 16th November 2004 . It was the day Half Life 2 hit the stores. And I was one of the first who got their hands on this one game I still remember to be the most highly anticipated I've ever had the pleasure to wait for.
I remember sitting in front of my monitor watching the load process of the Steam activation going and going. Right then I hated all the people who were as crazy as me and who wanted to play the game the very moment it was available. And who were evidently the reason for this awfully slow moving load process.
Finally, it was time to get my hand on Mr. Freeman. Well, you know what I'm talking about: W, A, S, D and stuff. Anyway: these first moments in City 17 were really one of the most atmospheric, intriguing and exciting I've ever experienced in a video game.
"Welcome to City 17"snared Dr. Breen. Well, thanks. Sharp graphics, incredible captivating script moments and an overall atmosphere which may even be a source of inspiration for George Orwell - all of this made up a more than warm welcome.
The one moment which will really remain in my memory was a short while after getting out of the train in City 17. When Barney saved me from the forces of the utopian system I was out in the train station again. After some more awesomely scripted events (how I wished a weapon in my hands when I had to pick up this can!) it was time to step out of the building. When these doors opened and gave the view to City 17 I stood there for minutes just enjoying this masterpiece of game design. The incredible amount of details on the plaza right in front of me was just amazing. It created such a tense atmosphere, I haven't seen this again in a video game. And the best thing: when I finished starring the awesomeness wasn't over because in the following hours I played one if not the best video game of all times!
