This is something I posted over on the comments site for Bioshock 2 and, it really sums up how I feel about the new game. I guess my expectations were so high, the disappointment came early. Here's what I wrote:
Well I've been a doubting Thomas through this whole thing. Teaser trailer many months ago I was wicked psyched. Almost as soon as I even heard one "big sister" came back down to the previous Rapture, my spirit fell like the balloon in UP. I really could give a rat's patootie about MP. It would be nice but who cares really. No, I just don't think this "big sister'" idea and me in a big daddy suit is gonna fly. I'm not being fair either ever since I saw the globe at the beginning of the Bioshock, 1959 New Year's Eve party and the revolution as played back by Diane McClintock's audio, I wanted a prequel, not a sequel. Really sucks I have even be negative about this but maybe, just maybe I'm wrong.
What is up with Capcom lately? Are they on a roll or what? When it rains it pours. That's ok, I like rain. So far all over RE 5. Great game just like Gamespot said. Controls are just as annoying as every other Capcom game so haha, they are definitely consistant. Also make games too hard for old geezers like me to get past Easy level. That's ok, being in the game is good enough for me. As my icon shows, as long as I can keep the mouse in the air, I'm happy. ![]()
But wow, I have never seen, in my short tenure as a gamer, a company like Capcom crank out so many games at once. And one thing I find peculiar is the games always seem to be released better or first on Xbox vs. PS3. The reason why I find this strange is that Capcom is a Japanese company and so is Sony. You'd think they'd get along better.
Like the gripe about Sony in my last blog post, I can't play R2 or God of War, etc. because they won't cross platform. Well now with all Capcom games that are here or coming soon, it really doesn't matter. I mean Dark Void is going to be just awesome, as well as Bionic Commando. If you've read some of my posts or reviews you know how huge of a fan I am of Lost Planet. So to me this is the one. This is the game that made me a fan of Capcom. The same game that almost swore me off them forever because I couldn't kill Green Eye. The fans know what I mean. When I did defeat that bug eyed monster I was forever a fan. Rock on Capcom, you guys do it right. And Jun, you were very impressive when I saw your big secret announcement on Xbox Live. Capcom is lucky to have you producing these great games. Bravo. ![]()
God of War III. I mean what do I do? I can afford two consoles or even a Wii to boot. By why would I juggle 3 consoles? I can see putting a Wii in another room in the house for exercise and maybe some Dead Rising but I still can't justify a PS3. God of War, Resistance 2, METAL GEAR SOLID. It's still not enough. I can't justify a heavy purchase like that for 3 games. Ok maybe there's tons more that are also on Xbox but why is it it's not the other way around from Sony?
Are they that afraid of their competition that they won't give us these great games on Xbox? Square Enix crossed over finally with Final Fantasy, looking forward to XIII, why can't these others. I'd love to find out what Gamespot thinks is so great about Metal Gear Solid, maybe I'll stop busting on them calling them MGS4.com. Come on Sony, give us a break. ![]()
