Ok, before I say anything, just hitting on some points. These are my opinions, if I offend you in any way I'm sorry, these may be wrong, dark, bad of me to say, but hey this is how I am currently feeling. So once again I'm sorry if this offends you in some way.
Ok, the education system, the main purpose is that so you can learn, is it not? Sure it is. But the way it is set up now, I feel it isn't as efficient as it should be. First off, I feel schools would be a lot better if school was mandatory up until maybe the 8th or 9th grade. You may be thinking, it is just so that I can end school earlier, or something like that, but it is quite the contrary. If you continue it shows that you have a burning desire to learn and improve yourself. But it doesn't just mean you can cut school after a certain grade. I feel that if you would to do that, you should be forced to start applying for jobs or training for jobs, i.e vocational school, trade school, etc. This way people who would disrupt school usually, wouldn't be there to interfere witht the learning process and would allow those who wish to learn, to do so better. And it would give those that didn't continue to help contribute to society somehow. And another thing, I think this is my major flaw, is the grading system. I mean I know the A, B, C, D, and F system is motivational, so you will do your best and all, and I really don't have a comeback to that, but I feel it puts to much stress on students and can take away from the true purpose of education; to learn. You might become so focused on getting good grades, you may not actually learn anything from school, you just got good grades. It may put stress on you, because due to the environment that I developed in, not the home environment but the school one, I kind of felt I was always supposed to get good grades (it might have something to do with the fact that I'm Asian lol) and I feel that I always don't really learn anything, just in it for the grade. Take this for an example. When I was a freshmen, not so long ago, I got my first B, actually 2 but whatever, I basically freaked out even though I got an A for the year. I got so freaked out, that I was bummed out on the last day of school, which should have been a happy time. I even called my teacher to make sure it could change any how. If the grading system was changed you could focus more on learning without constantly think, dang it I need the A or the B. You would probably less afraid to do certain things and mess up as most people are afraid of that because they might get an F or something. You could just do it, and if you weren't your best you would be able to learn from it. And grades could be wrong. Let's say you do fine and you know your stuff, but when the test comes you screw it up and you fail as tests are worth like 60% of your grade. That isn't right. And colleges put to much stress on grades and test scores. If you want to further your knowledge, but your grades and scores are low, you should still be able to go to college. Like I said, part one as I don't know what else to put, but I know I have more.
