I am in Australia and am currently getting sick of our 5 (count em, 5) free to air station competing for ratings and thereby screwing up our veiwing by pitting the best shows against each other.

Channel Ten airs "House" at 8:30 Wednesdays and Channel 7 airs "Heroes" at the same time in an attempt to win veiwers,

"Desperate Housewives" and "Supernatural" are pitted against each other in the Monday at 8:30 time slot on once again: channel seven and channel ten.

NCIS and CSI both air at 8:30 Tuesday.On Seven and Ten.

Straight after House and Heroes we have "Medium" and "Prison Break" both competing for our attention. You guessed it, Seven and Ten.

"Law and Oder SVU" and "Lost" OH MY GOD NO! Seven and Ten, 8:30 Wednesday.

After all this these two  networks have exhausted their quality veiwing and friday gives us such 'gems' as "Better homes and Gardens", "The Biggest Loser" and a rerun of an old movie.

Saturday we have Inspector Morse reruns, not good, and old british comedy shows such as Benny Hill. Oh dear god someone shoot me.

And then sunday we get "Greys Anatomy" and "Ugly Betty" competing once again.

What is wrong with these networks? Are they incapable of bowing to each other to give us some quality Programming? Why risk losing half of your demographic to another channel when you could just stick your show on at a time when nothing else good is on? (By the way there is never anything good on channels 9, ABC or SBS. mostly game shows and real life medical dramas and airport style shows. Crap in other words.)

There are obviously days when these networks have nothing good to show us, so why not save the good shows for then? It is so frustrating! Grrrr!

Thanks to Channels Seven and Ten, I am not gonna know what is going on with half of my shows. This is also due to the fact that Australia is about 20 years behind everywhere else and most of thes people have never heard of Tivo.

Well i'd better go, sees i have to cross off some shows from my veiwing list...
