This past weekend, my parents and I went on a vacation that was surprisingly relaxing. Though it's difficult for me to admit it, my mother has family in West Virginia. We left about 4 A.M. on Saturday and stopped at a few places on the way there. We got back this morning (Wednesday) at 2 A.M. or so. Most of the time, we sat around a campfire and talked. I also read a book (The Book of Fate by Brad Metzler) which I haven't done for too long. We spent some time driving around down there and if you've never ridden West Viriginia roads, you should basically envision a roller coaster. Side-to-side and up-and-down all over the place.

Anyway, on the way home, my parents graciously let me stop at a GameStop on the way home. Luckily in was in a mall (I had found it via the GPS), and there was also an f.y.e. store in the mall. It's a good thing, too. The GameStop had about a total of 20 games for Xbox and no more. I did find out that apparently they are trying very hard to eliminate the XBox stock, as the games were Buy 2 Get 2 Free. I did get a good haul at the f.y.e., though. The pre-owned games were buy 2 get 1 at 50% off. Not all that great, but it helped.

why do you buy so many xbox games? surely there aren't that many games worth owning on that platform? i tend to reach an average of 20+ essential games for each platform.

That is a good haul. I'm loving the cheap deals on xbox games. I got Far Cry Instincts and Fable the Lost Chapters for 10 bucks total. Two of my favorite games for the xbox now.

@just_nonplussed: Well, yes, there are that many great games that were out in the last gen. If one limits himself to a particular number, then one misses out on a great many games that while not completely innovative are still solid and a lot of fun. Most of the games that I have played I have enjoyed. I've been looking forward to many of these games for a while. If you want, I can give you a good list of great games. Besides, when games are $10 a pop, they cost a little more than a DVD and give you many more hours of fun.

@lazyhoboguy: I didn't get those games from GameStop, though. Unless you mean the B2G2 deal. That should be awesome when I can get to another one to find games.

None of the gamestops anywhere near where I live have any Xbox games at all, which sucks. But amazon is THE place for Xbox games, I have gotten 30 over the past month or so. There are a few of games which are pricey but other than those certain few amazon has every game I want at a great price. Just wish there was somewhere near where I live to buy some Xbox games, I guess ill have to do a little searching. Anyway keep building the collection, someday I hope to have one like yours

Wow very good deals. You almost want to keep that Vexx unopened since the XBOX version is going for around $60 (for a sealed copy).

@nVidiaGaMer: Are you serious? Maybe I'll try to sell in and pick up a used copy somewhere. Where did you hear it was worth so much? I have some other games that are still sealed...

I'm not joking I wish I read this sooner then I might of prevented you from opening it. I can't even find a sealed copy on eBay! Must be really rare. On amazon its $30-$60 for a new one. A unsealed copy is only worth a fraction of that $4-$11 or so.

@nVidiaGaMer: Well, I haven't opened it yet. I bought it preowned, but the factory seal on the side is intact. The shrink wrap was redone, but the seal is intact. I might have to do some research and try to buy it pre-owned, and then sell the new(er) one.
