Hohoho. I got my sleep. Lots and lots of sleep. Like, almost 12 hours on each of the four days I didn't have c|ass. Anyway, I'm just going to split my post into sections. I have a feeling I might ramble today.
You guys know that I had just recovered from an infection recently, and I'm adamant on not seeing another doctor for a long time. Yeh. Even when I've been afflicted with a bunch of minor annoyances. My swollen eyelid healed over time, although it felt really weird to be putting on eyeliner at that time. The rather sudden rashes I got on my left hand and fingers are clearing up, thank god, because they itched like crazy and I didn't actually have anything to soothe it with save for warm water. And lastly, my left ankle has been aching again for about a week and I don't recall aggravating it at all. I know my ankles are kind of... loose? Tender? Because I've sprained them too many times and never went to the doctor each time I do. I don't think I'll bother about it still, but it's kind of a bother to feel pain when I try to bend it, especially inwards.
Other than that, the four days of free time I had were pretty relaxing. Except for Sunday. I attended the most pointless wedding ever. On my mom's insistence, I followed my parents to a relative's wedding and I reached there just when the wedded pair were about to move. Doesn't matter, since I was there for the food and my mom promised I can leave afterwards and my dad will send me back (it was on the other end of the island). Unfortunately, my mom didn't tell my dad that and he didn't feel inclined to spend an hour driving me home and going back again, so I had to spend six agonizing hours doing absolutely nothing. My immediate cousins were there so I caught up with them, and I did mess around on the fitness grounds and got dizzy on this... thingy... but it was still six hours of my life wasted.
Did I mention that I hate kids? Because I do. I spent most of the time on a bench near a playground, so lots of kids were there while the parents were mingling about at the wedding. There was this one girl who came up to me with probably four bags of sweets, and she was asking me if I liked "goodies". I was like, "Err... yes...?" and I was eyeing her lollipop (I was bored!) and asked if she wanted to give me any. She retorted back and said, "No! Goodies are for little children!" and ran away. The nerve of that brat. I shook my fist every time she came near me, which sent her running away again.
Anyway, back to another... three days of school this week. I keep thinking that it's an easy life, but the assignments can be a real mood killer. I thought I have just two assignments to take care of this week, but another one cropped up. So now I have to record a phone interview tomorrow, put up a commentary on my chosen reading for Public Relations by Wednesday, and do a book review by Thursday.
I gave up on Halo 3: ODST because as atmospheric as it was, it wasn't enough to keep my attention. So I moved on and popped Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 into my 360. It's pretty much your standard mindless beat 'em up fun, but with a whole bunch of Marvel characters, both popular and obscure. I've already completed the game once on Heroic, and chose to side with the Anti-Registration forces. Yay Captain America! Justice and freedom!
... Well not really, but I much prefer Captain America over Iron Man. He's just some rich dude in a tin suit. And Maria Hill looks and sounds annoying. She's an all around annoying person. Still, I'm playing a new game on Legendary right now and have to choose Pro-Registration since I want to get whatever other Achievements there are. At least the team I've been using is pretty kick-@ss. Deadpool, Thor, Hulk and (Nanite) Nick Fury.
After MUA2, I'd probably play... uh... Ninja Gaiden Black. Very old game, and very random choice, I know! I'm just still on an action beat 'em up/hack-n-slash high, and I have nothing else to satisfy that craving.
Other than that, with the money I got from selling ODST, I bought Final Fantasy Tactics Advance 2 for the DS and Metroid Prime Trilogy for the Wii. I finally got the game I've been wanting to get for the DS, and I finally got something new and shiny for the Wii. I've already started on FFTA2 with four hours sunk in so far, and no matter what others think of this game, it's still proving to be just as fun as FFTA was for me. The only bummer about the sequel is it's much more troublesome to recruit new clan members, because you have to be at certain places during certain months in order to recruit certain races. Ugh.
As for Metroid Prime, it was actually a tie between that and Muramasa. Since I've been quite blessed financially this month for some reason, I got the more expensive of the two. At least when money is tight and I'm still buying games, my choices to pick would be the cheaper titles. Heh. Anyway, I haven't started the game yet because I haven't moved the Wii into my room. There is no way anyone can play the console in the living room, not when my mom is always hogging the front TV to watch her soaps and dramas. Until I get off my butt and move that thing inside, MPT will have to sit prettily on my shelf for now.
I'm planning to continue playing my PS2, but I'll think about that some other time.
Two friends from polytechnic recently contacted me about joining them in "Fly by Night ", a film competition that takes place over the weekends at the end of the month. My planner seems to be quite empty for then, save for an assignment due on the 30th, so I agreed to their plan. This is exciting! It's been a year or two since I've touched a filming equiment or messed around with any related editing software, so I hope I'm not too out of touch. The competition requires us to produce a five-minute film in just a day and briefing on the theme will only be known the day before, so that's certainly going to test our creativity and limited resources.
I need to ask my school about loaning out equipments, because renting them will seriously kill our pockets. We need to come up with a list of talents that'll be able to help us out on the fly as well. Like I said, exciting!
My sister just told me to save my money to get a bicycle for night-riding and trails. I agreed. Now I have to save at least 600 bucks (Singapore dollars k). I have a sixth, currently.
I'm sure that while I'm saving up money, I'll be thinking that I could have used them to get a PS3. Sweet, glorious PS3 gaming. I've yet to touch an actual console as well.
Also, I FIGHT DRAGONS . My new obsession. My phone interview assignment will have my sister acting as Laura Grene from IFD (because I feel brain-dead currently) and I'll be the host of some make-believe entertainment talkshow. I'm not looking forward to tomorrow.
The timeline of events in the Boogiepop Phantom novels are just as all over the place as its anime. I'm still reading the prequel of the prequel, Boogiepop at Dawn. Oh yeh. I bought all three novels there in one go soon after getting Y and Powers. I'm missing one more novel! I can't find it anywhere except online! Anyway, I'd probably have to watch the anime again afterwards.
Been reading Yotsuba&! online as well and have taken a break at chapter 34. HILARIOUS. Kiyohiko Azuma is a genius. You know that someone is a genius if they can turn boring, everyday events into something wonderful. I will one day collect all the volumes for the manga since it'll look nice beside Azumanga Daioh. Well I could have already started, but Kino didn't have the first and fourth volume, and I don't like starting a series without the first volume.
I need to make time to watch Dracula (1992) , directed by Francis Ford Coppola (because it's just... there... on top of my TV). Then I need to make even more time to read the 3-in-1 horror c|assics I bought AGES ago. I should be ashamed to say that I'm absolutely ignorant of what went on in Frankenstein, Dracula and Dr Jekyll & Mr Hyde.
I want to eat jell-o.

@GeekyDad - Lol sorry about that. I'm sure NG shouldn't be lumped into that category, but it does involve some slashing, and I'm still wanting to slash or beat stuff up. ![]()
But yeah, definitely give the game a try. I will say this, though, NGB doesn't allow for you to beat up on enemies willy nilly. It's almost more of a dance. You have to play very defensively in order to survive, and I think it's perhaps the one element that has turned a lot folks away from the game in the past. It's often instinctive to run in and try to kill stuff, but it plays more like a fighting game in terms of combat.
@GunnyHath - Oh I just found a bag of goodies that my mom brought back from the wedding. No lollipops though.
@GeekyDad - Interesting. I'll pick a time when I'm at my most calm before I start Ninja Gaiden. Have you tried NG2 by any chance? Because I did try the demo, and I did farely well. I was wondering if the difficulty was toned down or something.
@jaykho213 - Ooh I already did! Very pretty game. I was thinking of restarting Okami or something when I have the time.
Well, I have t'interweb back now, woo!
@GeekyDad - Ahh I heard about Sigma 2 being easier. But then again, I heard that it's still kicking some people's butt. All the best to your Christmas PS3!
@zinoalex - Lol well I'm not sure if it's a good principle to stick to. The doctors here are fairly decent. But that's from a patient's viewpoint since we know nothing, so it might be different behind the scenes. Yes to MUA2! And yeh, terribly hard decision there. ):
That's a pretty smashing team you got in MUA2.
Good luck with the film contest thing! I love film in general, but I'm not too good with the equipment
Oh boy weddings. Haven't been to one ever since I was a ring bearer for my Uncle's wedding. God, I remember crying at the alter - stupid people staring at me in my tuxedo thing. If I ever get married, it's going to be in Vegas.
@Extra_Life - Ooh real-time. Well I look forward to your impressions then.
@hazelnutman - I love editing more than filming, but I prefer filming over acting. Haha. And yup, $300 will be awarded to the 10 films the judges pick.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 was pretty neat, it felt that it ran on a little longer than it needed, I think multiplayer was the big thing that saved it for me.
jell-o is nasty.
@grafkhun - Ohoho you did not just diss THE jell-o. Chainsaw or not, you're going down! *pinches*
