I couldn't change my appointment date so I had to skip c|ass. Firstly, thank god all these doctor appointments are done... FOREVER! It was just an infected lymph node, which isn't infected anymore, so that's all swell and good. The only downer is that I have to pay frickin' 22 bucks for consultation fees. If not for the government grant, I'll be paying 60 bucks. Are they f*cking kidding me?

Anyway, played ODST last night and completed Tayari Plaza. You know how I was all excited to play the game? Well. I shouldn't have been because after playing a bit more of the game, it's not all that spectacular. It's really just another shooter. Can I compare it to Modern Warfare? Because MW was much more fun for some reason. I'M SAD. I'm going to complete it anyway since it's short. Also, this is just me, but I hate the VISR vision and constantly having to change weapons for ammunition is a pain in the butt. And eh, no health regeneration. I'm that lazy.

Also read Y, and I want the next book so badly! Will read Powers tonight.

For now, I'm going to be good and complete 2 assignments in a day.

Go me.

@jaykho213 - Yeh man. I can buy a game with that.

I'm loving everything about Halo these days. Picked up ODST and I enjoy it....love the firefight mode. I also recently picked up Halo Wars, which is awesome!

Yeah, the combat in Modern Warfare is generally more urgent, I think, whereas Halo battles are always a bit standoffish. Glad to hear you're doing better, though. Is $60 a lot where you live? I can't imagine even shaking hands with a doctor here in the States for less than $150. If he/she has to have you say "ah," they tack on another $100.

Well short as it was, there was a lot of info there. I'm glad it was nothing serious and you're back to normal! Halo yes.. my only real complaint (aside from analog sticks) is the constant weapon swapping, but that is part of halo and people would be mad if they changed it. MW was one of the best quality shooters to come out in a long time, so I can totally understand you enjoying it. MW2 looks to be even better. Good luck on your assignments

@luc11044 - I haven't tried Firefight yet, since I plan to finish the campaign first. But glad you're liking everything about Halo.

@GeekyDad - It is a lot for something really trivial like consultation. I can't imagine paying $150 for such things. But oh well. The things we do for health.

@GunnyHath - I guess it's a trait of Halo, but it's an annoying trait to me. And as much as I liked MW, I don't think I'll be getting MW2 till much, much later. Probably.

ODST: I could see that coming.

I enjoyed ODST, but as a rental going through it once co-op on the toughest difficulty for some kind of challenge. But I've never been truly taken in by the HALO universe.

@julianozuca - Gah. I'm sad! But not all that sad. I'm glad I paid just a fraction of the retail price for it.

@Elk - Halo's fanbase fascinates me, and I sometimes feel like I should be enjoying it as much as they are. Hmm. But I'm sure any game will be more enjoyable on co-op though. That's what got me through RE5 and Gears.

Do you think Halo ODST is worth the 60 bucks?
Posted Oct 8, 2009 1:23 pm PT
It's good to hear all went well for you today at your appointment. Having less cash than you had before is a bummer but that's how it goes.

Enjoy your comics.

@Private_Adam - If you're an ultimate Halo fan, sure. I read that it's also worth the purchase if you haven't played Halo 3 before, otherwise, no. ODST also includes all of Halo 3's multiplayer maps. Now for me personally, I don't think it's worth 60 bucks. However, I didn't pay full retail price anyway hehe.

@zinoalex - Yeh it's a bummer, but I just got back some money for selling my old games. =D

I hate hospital fees.

How's the pistol? I hear that it's similar to Halo 1. That makes me happy to think of the good old days where I'd pop off some really gnarly headshots, lol. I hope it is at least better than all they are in 2-3.

@hazelnutman - Don't we all?

@clownofpoetry - Hmm I can't really tell, because I barely remembered how Halo 1 was like, and never played 2 or 3. But it was pretty satisfying to pop off headshots, that's for sure.

Well I think ODST, from what I've seen, seems to straddle a fine line between being stealth and short quick battles, but blends them in a weird way through it's limitations on the ODST's themselves. Playing as a Spartan in ODSTwouldn't work, since you have no need for stealth, as you can run into a pack of enemies and take them all out, but in ODST avoiding fights is not only much easier, but nearly encouraged. So all the ammo/weapon management, finding health packs, and using the VISR for recon are all elements that make it stealthish. But then again, I haven't played it, so yeah.

Also, 2 assignments in one day! Oh. Em. Gee.

@grafkhun - I do agree that it is much more beneficial to avoid fights in ODST. But I'm still gonna complain about ammo and VISR vision as long as I'm still playing the game.

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 is button-mashy fun. Why is Spider-Man always on the cover though?

And. I only managed to complete 1 assignment. I have failed myself!

That's one of the things I love most about my country: free healthcare. Glad you're feeling better though!

Go you, go!

Spider-Man is one of the most recognizable Marvel characters, that's why he's always on the cover. While fans of Marvel don't hold Spidey in super high regards, to the casual Marvel-ite he's like the poster boy.

@gamer_girl15 - Are you kidding me? Free healthcare? No. Way.

@grafkhun - What about Wolverine though? They could at least rotate who gets to be splashed in the middle.

... And I'm not sure why I'm discussing this. I'm not actually bothered by it, to be honest.
