I've always had this innate ability of having difficulty grasping new concepts or just plain comprehension, and it annoys me when I struggle to understand something while my friends are already babbling through discussions. I don't have trouble reading through the text, it's just that they're not being absorbed into my brain and I get so frustrated, it ends up becoming really hard for me to concentrate. Like yesterday, I took the whole day just trying to understand what the Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis is all about. I had to take multiple trips to my eldest sister's room so she can explain certain parts to me or give me examples and such. When I figured I was ready to tackle the assignment of creating an information poster on the hypothesis, it took me the whole night and morning (I still haven't slept, hurrah!) to organize my thoughts and words and put them on screen.

Even supposed entertainment can't escape from my retardation! Like when I watch a DVD, I can't just watch the going-ons and listen but I have to set the subtitles as well before I fully follow what's happening on-screen. I hear the words but they just whizz over my head. There was even a case in cl.ass where the lecturer played an episode of Frontline, an Australian comedy series which satirised news programmes and reporting, and of course she didn't set the subtitles on which pretty much left me in a daze and panic when she rapidly started firing questions at us regarding the show. Luckily I wasn't picked, but it didn't help any when all my cl.assmate seemingly understood what was happening and were enthusiastically answering the questions.

You know, it wouldn't be as bad if I actually found out that I had some form of brain damage which prevents me from understanding something immediately. I did get a rather nasty kick to the face and I somersaulted on a tarmac road (not for fun, but because I bounced off my incredibly huge cousin) and crack-landed on my head, so who knows?
That crack-land was pretty scary really. I was convinced that my head was split open and if I moved, brain matter would simply ooze out. But it didn't, although it didn't stop me from lying there still as a statue and laughing nervously.

I just realized that I'm never on Gamespot when in the right state of mind. It's usually when I just woke up, before sleeping at some ungodly hour, when I should be working and concentrating on more important matters, etc. you get the picture.
Right now it's already 7.15am and I was planning to sleep at 6am, because I have my alarm set to 10am. I can barely keep my eyes open but I want to get an early start and print that poster out, then get home immediately so I can start on the articles that I'm supposed to read for Monday.

):

You know what I did in that 1 hour? Fooled around with Luminous Arc, thinking that I'm going to have another miserable defeat at that ridiculous Chapter 14 of Doom. Imagine my surprise when I actually... uh... got past that chapter. Well. That's some mighty good news, eh? I'd say that this is a wonderfully great start to a morning that looked bleak.

I'm going to go have my 2 and a half hours of sleep now. And I'm glad I'm finally exempted from Media Production cl.ass, because that'll give me Wednesday (sometimes) to Friday off, and the weekends as well.

Man I had a hard time trying to find the 'Post Blog' button when I remembered that it's on the left side now.

Anyway, I'm in the middle of some serious contemplation. I'm looking over my DS games and wondering if I should sell off some of them because honestly, I won't be playing them anymore. Yes they do look nice on my shelf, but what's the point in letting them just sit there when I can use the space for other games which I haven't played yet and want to play? Also the prospect of some extra money seem nice.

Right now, I've got the list to 5 games:

- Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime
- Hotel Dusk Room 215
- Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja
- Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword
- The World Ends With You

Yeessss I want to sell off TWEWY. It was a fun game, I enjoyed my time, but it wasn't an overly spectacular game for me and I definitely do not feel the urge to replay it. I never was a fan of collecting items just to complete a game a 100% in the first place, which is where the game's replay value comes from. Then there's the part where I have a few games which I'll never play again, but just can't bear to part with. I'm talking about the Ace Attorney and Touch Detective series, which are really meant to be played once because playing them again would be pointless since you know what's going to happen and how to make them happen.

))):

In other news, the guy I'm supposed to trade The Simpsons Game with decided to die on me (jerk...), but I managed to sell the game off to someone else yesterday. Nice gentleman who just bought his 360, and wants me to sell any other games I don't intend on playing anymore to him. Unfortunately for him, I'm pretty much still playing or haven't played the rest of my 360 games.
I'm also getting Lost Odyssey from someone tomorrow for cheap, yay. A used copy of LO saves me S$20, and buying from that guy? It saves me a further S$15 'since I'm not sure how much they're worth', he says. Yes I'm going to die a horrible death for taking advantage of that fact.

Still about gaming, I've been keeping real silent about my progress so far and well I'm happy to say that Patapon is done and over with and I've started on Brave Story next. Nothing special about Brave Story but it's decent enough for an RPG, especially during that period of time when the PSP is lacking in that genre. Oh and I thought I should mention that I never liked silent protagonists, especially in an RPG. Doing so is supposed to make you connect with the character more, in that you imagine how they sounds like and how they would react in certain situation, but it really does the opposite for me. If you're already going to throw me into the shoes of a predetermined character with a destiny to follow, you might as well add the voice in. And it's just weird to read what seemed like a character talking to themselves, when they're actually 'conversing' with the silent protagonist.

I'm NEARLY done with FFCC: Ring of Fates and I only have 2 areas left to go through! After that, I'm going to finally start Apollo Justice because my sister chose that for me and I wouldn't be surprised if I start the game later tonight. I've also been making cute little progresses through Gears of War completing Act 1, Eternal Sonata completing Chapter 2, and still mindlessly yet happily Addition-grinding in Legend of Dragoon.
I never mentioned this and it's not on my Now Playing list, but I've been playing Starcraft and The Longest Journey on the PC on and off. It's official. Not only do I suck at shooters, I suck at RTS as well. Still, I managed to get to Mission 5 for the Terrans without a single problem. As for The Longest Journey, I've had the game installed onto my laptop for the longest time but I've only completed the first chapter just recently. I get annoyed when characters walk too slowly.

And this is a bit of a weird obsession of mine currently, but I've finally bought and collected all available Resident Evil novels. Well I think that's all there is. The 3 novelization of the RE movies and volume 0 - 6 of the novelization of the games. I'm nearing the end of volume 1, which covers the first game, and if I didn't have school, I would probably have finished the whole series by the end of the week. They're easy to read yet engaging enough (or I'm easily satisfied, who knows), and I'm very glad that I discovered the books. I can't play horror games without killing my heart in the process but I've always been intrigued by them. Yeh I suck. Now if only they'd come out with some novels for Silent Hill, I'd buy them in a heartbeat.

Well that's it. I need to get off and figure out how to use the credits I'm eligible for, thanks to the diploma I have. If things go well, I can drop one course which will leave me with 2 or 3 days free, depending on the week. Good thing, because I've already accumulated 6 articles to read through for Communication Studies and it takes me quite a while to digest information.

Also, I never thought it was possible to trash-talk during a game of UNO. How lame can people be?

No video uploads then. Which is both a good and bad thing. Bad because I wasted a whole day trying to upload the stupid thing and good because... er... upon closer inspection, I look really shagged in the video thanks to the last-minute university preparations. Not going to be a pleasant 10 minutes for you guys. In which case, I have to resort to typing everything out so here goes. Be amazed at how much I must have spent. Hint: A LOT.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

GAMES:
- Beautiful Katamari (X360) (FREE KEYCHAIN LLOLOOLOLOLOL!)
- Burnout Revenge (X360) (I have this on the PS2 as well actually. Err.)
- Civilization Revolution (X360) (My eldest sister is playing the game. She got me 50 points haha.)
- Gears of War (X360)
- Soul Calibur IV (X360) (I'm so bad at the game, it's sad.)
- The Simpsons Game (X360) (COMPLETED though not to a 100%. I'm trading the game for DMC4 with someone on a forum.)
- Tomb Raider: Legend (X360)

BOOKS:
- The Bride of Anguished English - Richard Lederer (Hilarious!)
- Stickerbomb (It's a book filled with over 250 stickers. I like stickers ok?)
- Halting State - Charles Stross
- Resident Evil: Zero Hour - S. D. Perry (If I can't play the game, I'll read it instead!!!)
- Frankenstein/Dracula/Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde - Shelley/Stoker/Stevenson (3-in-1 rules! And because I'm cheap.)
- Murder of Angels - Caitlin R. Kiernan
- The Divine Comedy - Dante Alighieri
- Let The Right One In - John Ajvide Lindqvist

MAGAZINES:
- NGamer #25 (Free iron-on patch of either a 1-up mushroom, Triforce, or D-pad. Awesome sauce.)
- NGamer #27 (Free Nintendo playing cards)
- Electronic Gaming Monthly #232 (Japan issue. Really informative read.)
- 360 Gamer #46
- 360 #38 (Both 360 mags are from the UK. UK likes to pack as much content as possible into an issue, I realize. Value for money.)
- Adbusters #79 (Heavy reading.)

DVDs:
- The City of Lost Children
- Delicatessen
- Full Metal Jacket (Not a fan of films involving the military, but heard this was good.)
- Vitas: The Myth of the Shaking Soul Voice (Firstly, wtf kind of title is that? Secondly, OMG Vitas live in concert!)
- Little Britain Season 1 (Completed. Crass humour is crass.)
- Little Britain Season 2
- Little Britain Season 3
- Monk Season 1
- Monk Season 2
- Bionic Woman: Complete Series (Gah. 8 episodes long? MORE!)
- Without a Trace Season 1 (Completed. I'm so in love with this fast-paced series.)
- Without a Trace Season 2

CDs:
- Muse, Showbiz
- The Ting Tings, We Started Nothing
- Keane, Hopes and Fears
- Keane, Under the Iron Sea
- 2 random Ne-Yo singles for my sister... psshh...

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I wouldn't have realized how much I must have spent if I didn't list it all down. Of course most of them were gotten with discounts, so I saved quite a fair amount still. (Yes excuses, but shush!) And that's a lot of 360 games within 2 weeks though, I have to admit. I'm getting obsessed with raising my gamerscore lately but thankfully between my parents hogging the TV and starting university, I won't turn into too much of a gamerscore-whore.

... Unless I start clearing my room SOON so I can get my new furniture and move the 360 inside. You know, I think I'll do that tomorrow after school. And speaking of school, first day was awesome. An ex-clas.smate was with me, and we became gurlfrens! with this group of really outgoing girls who scares me sometimes with their bimbotic-ness. But they're intelligent. Intellectual bimbos, yes. And the lecturer was as expected, firm, but can be funny as well. I'm not going to jump the gun and say that this particular module will be fun, but it has the potential to be. Also, I love my schooling hours! 9.30am to 1pm daily, with a free day on either Thursday or Friday according to the timetable. It'll probably be filled up with assignments pretty soon though, so I'd better not slack off early. I've already gotten 4 heavy articles to read through and understand about communication and learning before next week, and I'm in severe need of a compact dictionary as well. My English is failing. Just within 2 hours, there are more words than I can count on both hands that I absolutely had no idea of understanding.

But anyway, I'm not going to go on about school just yet. I'll let that bubble till after something devastating happens and I'll moan about it on Gamespot, yes? And actually, I'm already pretty tired, so I should go off and have a nice bath before resting for tomorrow.

By the way, I'm excited for Fable 2. The supposed Achievements are half of the fun.
Till then, brush your teeth!
