Over the weekend, I decided to take up an offer for a free trial of Netflix. I usually don't buy into those kind of "free trial" things, but I've heard a lot of good things about the service, and being able to stream thousands of movies and shows right to my Xbox 360 for only $9 a month is pretty appealing. Well, it's been four days, and I'm extremely happy with Netflix so far. The picture quality is great, and they recommended me a great show to watch - Jericho.

I heard of Jericho a couple years back, but never had the time nor interest to check it out. Over the weekend, I was able to stream all two seasons of the show, which, to put it quickly, might be one of my all-time favorites. The cast is great (including Skeet Ulrich, seen in the above picture), and so is the show's storyline. I'd highly recommend you guys check it out. Other than Jericho, I just started watching season one of Lost. A bunch of my friends are fans of the show, and said I need to watch it. Let's hope it's as good as they led me to believe!

As many of you have seen, my activity on the site has been a bit... lacking, lately. Being my senior year, school has been extremely busy - more-so than I expected. Plus, I just can't seem to find an active place to post right now. Needless to say, I'm still here, and don't plan on leaving anytime soon.

Netflix is a pretty good service and it is great to stream the shows straight to the XBox and not worry about the disks.

@mjoanne - Yah, those disks are definitely a pain. Thanks for commenting!

Jericho 1st Season was pretty good, but the second season.....bleh.
Posted Sep 29, 2009 4:28 pm PT
Oh and go watch all of the seasons of Lost, now.
Posted Sep 29, 2009 4:28 pm PT
@gearhead3000 - I thought the second season was great!

And yah, I'm watching it now.
Posted Sep 29, 2009 4:37 pm PT
I am like you... or like you were at least. I know of the show, but I've never seen it.
Posted Sep 29, 2009 4:50 pm PT
Skeet Ulrich... so that's what he's been doing now. I still remember him in screen.
Posted Sep 29, 2009 4:58 pm PT
@ebbderelict - If you get the chance, you should definitely check it out. I think you can watch most of the episodes on Gamespot's sister site, TV.com.

What are you up to next Friday night?
Posted Sep 29, 2009 6:36 pm PT
@justplainlucas - Well, that's what he was doing in 2007, at least.

I think he's in an upcoming movie, but I can't remember the name...

Yea Netflix is pretty awesome. My dad does it and the direct streaming is really cool.
Posted Sep 29, 2009 6:45 pm PT

I guess I'm old school but I still prefer going to my local Blockbuster video to rent movies rather than downloading them off a digital medium. That being said, if the Blockbuster weren't right next door to my house I'd probably reconsider.

Ah, Netflix! Glad you're enjoying it! I'm actually thinking of buying a subscription myself, but I keep telling myself that it's $9 a month and that adds up, so we'll see.

I'll have to check out Jericho though!
Posted Sep 30, 2009 7:34 am PT
I've never used Netflix, and I've never watched Jericho
Posted Sep 30, 2009 9:33 am PT
@pj24 - Yah, that would be neat. That way, I could watch Netflix on my TV upstairs (PS3) and also on my TV downstairs (360)!
Posted Sep 30, 2009 11:45 am PT
@dhandle76 - This is the first I've heard about it as well.

@slimdave21 - The only good movie rental place is about 15 minutes from my house... 20 with traffic.
Posted Sep 30, 2009 11:47 am PT
@forerunner-117 - I think they have a plan for less money, but I'm not exactly sure what it includes.

@aaronmullan - You should start!

Here's hoping Netflix will come to the UK. Sorry to say but, with my bad eyesight, I found it really hard to read this.
Posted Sep 30, 2009 12:41 pm PT
Nothing so far, you want to do something?
Posted Sep 30, 2009 1:01 pm PT
@dan_scfc - You don't have it in the UK? And sorry about the font.
Posted Sep 30, 2009 1:02 pm PT
Yeah, we do, it's on all the time on Sky1. After all, Hugh Laurie is British.
Posted Sep 30, 2009 1:09 pm PT
@ajarbuckle - I think so. I need to find out what time the State game is at on Saturday, though.
Posted Sep 30, 2009 1:16 pm PT
Netflix is sadly not here Good you enjoy it though.
Posted Sep 30, 2009 1:38 pm PT
@horgen123 - That stinks. Do you have any services similar to Netflix?
Posted Oct 1, 2009 3:37 am PT
Not one on Xbox, I think we got one though, but it is crappy.
Posted Oct 1, 2009 3:47 am PT
@horgen123 - Ah, sorry to hear that.
Posted Oct 1, 2009 12:36 pm PT
I haven't played MGS game since early ps2 days I think. Or was it Ps1? I don't remember and it was very short. Got no history of playing MGS games.
Posted Oct 1, 2009 1:20 pm PT
I signed up after my free trial. I love the service.
Posted Oct 1, 2009 4:59 pm PT
Jericho always interested me but I never gave it a shot. Since I have free time and have netflix. Thanks for the recommendation.
Posted Oct 1, 2009 5:49 pm PT
i just do a great cheaper way to watch tv shows and movies if u know what i mean............... no i dont watch them in the internet i record them over DVR for tv shows and just go to the movies with friends for movies and u thought i was illegal shame on u msu
Posted Oct 1, 2009 6:01 pm PT
@kcwsk8 - I ended up doing the same thing.
Posted Oct 1, 2009 6:06 pm PT
@roslindaleone - No problem. Let me know what you think.
Posted Oct 1, 2009 6:06 pm PT
@nukku - My DVR always runs out of space, so I end up deleting shows I haven't yet watched.
Posted Oct 1, 2009 6:07 pm PT
Yeah, Jericho was really cool for the first season. Once they did the second season to finish up the show I was no longer intrigued. I've always liked netflix, but once blockbuster gave the deal where I could trade in the mailed dvds to swap without paying, another DVD at the store, I liked it a lot more. Now with that live streaming, I have to say I started back up with Netflix just last week. Enjoying it so far.

Sorry about that I've been having problem getting online, anyway Dollhouse is about an underground organization that hire average people and have them sign a contract so they(the Dollhouse)can have permission to brainwash them with someone elses memory to accomplish different missions or human desires, they give it on Friday on the Fox Channel in case you're wondering.

I was thinking of watching Lost again, but then I started watching Warehouse 13 and Merlin, so I'm good. Senior year has been busy for me too.
Posted Oct 3, 2009 8:21 am PT
I can't remember the last movie I watched, so Netflix sounds like a great way to catch up on the ones I've missed. Good luck with school!
Posted Oct 12, 2009 10:42 am PT
So,you think Netfix is good,eh ?
