What better time to blog than when there's a massive thunderstorm pelting your house with rain and hail? I can't think of any... until my power decides to go out. Anyway, if you haven't seen me posting in your blogs lately, I apologize. I went on a trip to Boston with some family for a week... man, that city's awesome. I love the architecture, the parks - pretty much everything except for the fact that I don't fit in with the dominant political view over there. If you guys want to see some of the pictures I took, you can head over to my UCB in the travel thread.

Other than my trip, not much is new on my end. I reached level 39 a couple days ago - pretty soon I'll be at 40 (finally). Unfortunately, the free part of my summer is virtually over. Soccer's starting again and runs nonstop until the last couple weeks of October. School starts in less than a month, and I need to start sending out college applications and doing AP summer cIass work. Plus, I need to pay to get my car repaired because some jerk thought giving me a massive door ding (plus scratch) and then filling it with permanent marker was a good idea. Definitely not fun stuff. Regardless, I'll still be around, albeit a bit less.

Well I hope you don't get your house blown up .

When did the car damage happen!?
Posted Aug 9, 2009 6:26 pm PT
@bioshockraptor - I don't plan on it.
Posted Aug 9, 2009 6:27 pm PT
@ajarbuckle - A couple weeks ago I noticed it. It's not that bad, but it's still noticeable. Being as anal as I am when it comes to that car, I need to get it fixed or it's going to bug me like crazy.
Posted Aug 9, 2009 6:29 pm PT
Cool that you went to Boston. Congrats on the level up.
Posted Aug 9, 2009 6:58 pm PT
@hank_101 - Yah, it was fun. And thanks.
Posted Aug 9, 2009 7:09 pm PT
trying to fill in a ding with permanent marker.
I am glad you had a fun time and hopefully your power decides to stay on.
Posted Aug 9, 2009 7:49 pm PT
@siberian142 - Well along with the ding was a pretty decent sized scratch. They tried to hide it.

I was was in boston a bit more than a month when I was 17, I love it, I know the whole city they kicked me out from every Hardvard facility there is, also the subway was great It took me like 20m to get the centre and I lived more or less far, I mean I lived a lot in Miami and you couldn't go next door without a car
Posted Aug 9, 2009 8:15 pm PT
@Lisandro_v22 - Yah, there's so much to do there, and you can get to basically all of it without a car.

At home, I need a car to go everywhere.

Your in High School? I always thought you were in college...
Posted Aug 9, 2009 8:20 pm PT
I love those kind of storms.
Dings happen... but permanent marker? That's just vindictive.
Posted Aug 9, 2009 8:21 pm PT
It's amazing how fast the Summer went.
Posted Aug 9, 2009 8:21 pm PT
OOOOOH, I just read your comment about the scratch. Okay, not vindictive... just stupid.
Posted Aug 9, 2009 8:21 pm PT
@lk-47 - For sure. It always seems to be that way.
Posted Aug 9, 2009 8:25 pm PT
@ebbderelict - Yah, I just wish people were honest. I'm the kind of guy that goes out of his way to park in the back of the parking lot, yet this still happens.

Murphy's Law, I guess.
Posted Aug 9, 2009 8:27 pm PT
boston sounds cool, i guess
Posted Aug 10, 2009 2:10 am PT
Sounds like the perfect weather

My mum was drunk the other night and decided to let my car door swing into somebody elses >_> First scratch made by my family. Lol the guy that did your damage fails.

To answer your first question: When you can't leave the house.
Posted Aug 10, 2009 3:27 am PT
Hope you had a great time in Boston

Sucks to hear about the car though
Posted Aug 10, 2009 3:39 am PT
@taraboi1 - Just "I guess?"
Posted Aug 10, 2009 5:10 am PT
Stay safe
Posted Aug 10, 2009 7:30 am PT
Blogging during a thunderstorm? You got balls, man!
Posted Aug 10, 2009 7:49 am PT
@3dayfinisher - Yah, it was a pretty big fail... especially considering my car is a sparkly black and the permanent marker is solid.

@horgen123 - Hey! I don't need your smart comments here!
Posted Aug 10, 2009 7:56 am PT
@ferron123 - Yah, it was awesome. And thanks bud.

@aaronmullan - Yes sir.
Posted Aug 10, 2009 7:57 am PT
@justplainlucas - Nah, that would only be if I blogged outside.

@samuraiguns - A lot of people seem to think that, which is a good thing, I guess.
Posted Aug 10, 2009 8:00 am PT
One bad storm, if you ask me.
Posted Aug 10, 2009 8:30 am PT
@akl712 - Yah, it was intense. If I didn't run outside and bring in the big table umbrella, the whole thing might have blown away...
Posted Aug 10, 2009 8:37 am PT
Thunder storms are pelting your house?! Well, I guess if you writing this blog your house is pretty sturdy
Posted Aug 10, 2009 8:47 am PT
@pj24 - Maybe I should re-word that... if my house was getting pelted with lightning, I don't think I'd be here right now.
Posted Aug 10, 2009 8:54 am PT
glad you enjoyed your trip to Boston, I was born and raised there, great city. still miss it.
Posted Aug 10, 2009 10:11 am PT
Seems like u had a fun time at boston and i hate thunderstorms
Posted Aug 10, 2009 10:19 am PT
@phoenyx9 - That's awesome you were raised there. Did you live in the city? If not, how close to the city did you live?
Posted Aug 10, 2009 10:21 am PT
@nukku - Hah, I love 'em. Sometimes I'll just sit in front of the window and watch them...
Posted Aug 10, 2009 10:22 am PT
I grew up on the South shore, born in Brockton, lived in Whitman (Plymouth county) and South Weymouth. Brockton/Whitman is 20 miles away, S. Weymouth ten miles. my family had a business on Beacon Hill right behind the State house, so I always would go in and trip around the city on the "T" as a kid.
Posted Aug 10, 2009 10:42 am PT
I'm glad you enjoyed it here. Born and raised here too. Roslindale is a neighborhood in Boston.
Posted Aug 10, 2009 1:19 pm PT
Sorry to hear that about your car, and congratulations on the new level.
Posted Aug 10, 2009 1:32 pm PT
@phoenyx9 - That's awesome... we passed right by the State House on a couple of tours.
Posted Aug 10, 2009 2:19 pm PT
@roslindaleone - I vaguely remember you saying that in the AU awhile ago.
Posted Aug 10, 2009 2:20 pm PT
@private_adam - Thanks man.
Posted Aug 10, 2009 2:24 pm PT
Wow... I can't believe someone actually thought permanent marker would hide a scratch.

I'm a little fearful of lightning since it blew out my TV, and almost caught my house on fire when I was smaller. The scary part was that it did that just by hitting a power pole about 300 meters away from my house. My Nintendo 64 was unharmed though
Posted Aug 10, 2009 2:30 pm PT
Nice, those are some good pics, that bridge's a little rusty, eh? And sorry about your car, I hope a thunder strike the one who did that Nah, actually I don't
Posted Aug 10, 2009 4:03 pm PT
@gamer_girl15 -

That's some scary stuff. I had an original Playstation and a power surge killed it.
Posted Aug 10, 2009 4:49 pm PT
@slipknoob - Yah, I'm pretty sure that bridge was built in the early 1900's.
Posted Aug 10, 2009 4:50 pm PT
That storm last night was pretty crazy. It's been very humid for these past few days, so I love whenever a thunderstorm comes rolling through and cools the air.
Posted Aug 10, 2009 6:43 pm PT
@slimdave21 - And it's supposed to be humid all week.
Posted Aug 10, 2009 9:00 pm PT
sounds like you had a great time in Boston! ... and wow, level 40! I for my part am happy that I've finally reached level 30 ...
Posted Aug 11, 2009 1:20 am PT
Storms are cool.
Posted Aug 11, 2009 5:56 am PT
Okay I'll start with stupid comments from now on
