Woot! I finally got a new blog up within my two week deadline! I'd blog more, but I'd rather have a less significant amout of the long, content driven blogs than more of the two sentence updates every few days that some users have. Anyways, I'll probably put up one more update before the summer is over. But in the meantime, I still have a bunch of games to finish before the schoolwork starts piling up, and more importantly, before all of the great fall release games come out.

In the past few weeks, I completed Grand Theft Auto IV and also gained a few hundred achievement points in the process. The game is great, and definitely deserves a 9.0 in my opinion, but I don't believe it's one of the best games of all time nor deservent of all the tens it recieved. I've also been playing more Bad Company multiplayer, but once you get to the final rank (level 25), things definitely get more boring and repetitive, which leaves me without a good multiplayer game to play right now. I may get back into Call of Duty 4 until October, but only time will tell.

Today, I finally had the time to go out and pre-order a bunch of games that I'm looking forward to getting this fall, including Fallout 3, Far Cry 2, Fable 2, and Gears of War 2. I'd go on a rant about how much I'm looking forward to each of them, but I'm sure you've heard enough about that in my previous blogs.

Getting off the subject of games now. The Gamespot Beta is now live, and it looks great, but I'm holding off on my final judgement on the new site until the forum and union redesign is finalized. They're where I'll be most of my stay on the site, so hopefully they look good. Also, I decided to change my avatar, signature, etc. away from blue to green. I've had the old design for quite awhile, and change is (most) always good.

I think that about wraps things up. Thanks for reading, and enjoy the rest of your summer.

I really need to start a schedule for blogging on this site, because being the procrastinator I am, I'll never get around to it.

Anyways, it's been more than a half a month since my last blog, so there's a lot to update. I've been playing a few different games, including Bad Company, The Orange Box, and Need for Speed: Most Wanted, which I purchased for a mere ten dollars. Most Wanted is a great racing game and has great graphics, especially for basically being a launch game. My only gripe with Most Wanted is that the car selection is pretty sparce, only having two or three cars to choose from for every blacklist racer you beat. If you didn't know, the point of Most Wanted is to take down, or beat, the blacklist of the 15 "most wanted" racers to regain your spot as the "most wanted" racer in Rockport City.

Bad Company, to be honest, has been getting a bit boring to me. It doesn't help that every other person you meet in that game has no intention to help your team win, and will do basically anything for a kill, including team killing, which gets old very, very quickly. Bad Company is a game based around teamwork, and when no one has any intention to help you out, the whole point of the Gold Rush game mode is essentially lost. Hopefully things will get better once the Conquest game mode launches... whenever that is.

The last game I've been playing is The Orange Box. This game, to say the least, is amazing. I stopped playing this game last winter once Call of Duty 4 came out, and therefore missed out on all three Half Life 2 episodes - Portal and Team Fortress 2 alone don't give The Orange Box justice. In the last few weeks, I've finished Half Life 2, as well as Episode One, and racked up many achievements in the process, which is something I haven't gotten around to in awhile. I'll update with my final thoughts once I finish Episode Two sometime later this week.

Now that you know what I'm playing, it's time to move onto the next point of business - Giant Bomb. Yes, I've created an account there. My username is twenty0ne - you've probably seen me around the forums, as I have the same avatar as I do here. If you haven't already found me, my profile is here. I'll be on both sites, but Gamespot is still my gaming home, especially since I'm loving Gamespot Beta. Hopefully the forums and unions look as good as my profile does.

Well, that about does it for this blog. If you still see this blog up in another few weeks, send me a PM to remind me to make another one.

Well, E3 2008 is over, and I would like to give a big thanks to the Gamespot staff for all the coverage. This, being my second E3, was great fun, not to mention informational. Thanks to you, E3 2008, I anticipate I might be a bit strapped for cash this fall.

But speaking of all the games coming out this fall, after seeing previews at E3, I'm definitely excited for a few games, including Fallout 3, Far Cry 2, and Gears 2. Fallout 3 looks like a great RPG for me - one that includes first-person-shooter elements. I really liked STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl because of the setting and story, and I guess one could say that Fallout 3 is pretty similar. Both involve lots of radiation, mutants, nuclear accidents... sounds like fun. But the story for Fallout 3 interests me, and having over 100 hours of gameplay and 50 weapons isn't too shabby either. Far Cry 2 is looking decent too: an open world shooter where you can do pretty much whatever you want, whenever you want. With that said, I'm looking forward to Gears of War 2, well, because it's Gears of War. I didn't necessarily like the multiplayer in the first game, but the story was one of the most addicting and immersive video game stories I've ever played. So, although I don't like the Gears multiplayer formula, the updated graphics, new weapons, and more of the Gears storyline is just too much to miss. As for emblems, I got the E3 Outlaw for seeing all three days of Gamespot's live show, and just the Microsoft conference emblem due to work conflicts. Who doesn't like shiny new emblems?

Recently, I've been playing more Bad Company. I completed the single-player mode on hard and am slowly progressing towards the highest rank in multiplayer, which I'm really enjoying. Gold Rush is a great new multiplayer mode, and the addition of Conquest should add even more depth into a great multiplayer experience. I can honestly say that I'm enjoying Bad Company more than I enjoyed both Call of Duty 4's and Halo 3's multiplayer, because Bad Company's multiplayer isn't just centered around killing. Of course, kills will get you extra points, but in Bad Company, you get "rank-up" points for healing a squad-mate, arming a charge, avenging your ally, and for blowing up enemy artillery, to name a few. With that said, I would recommend Bad Company to anyone who enjoys online first person shooters.

To wrap this blog up, before the summer is over, I still need to complete BioShock again for "Brass Balls," I need to replay Mass Effect, and need to finish up The Orange Box and GTA IV. I also need to submit my review for Wii Sports and Bad Company, so that should be coming soon as well. Right now, I'm heading up north for the weekend, so I'll be gone until next Monday. Until then, take care, and don't forget to comment.
