In a earlier blog I mentioned my problems with Resident Evil 5 and the problems I had with it. Well, I decided to pick it back up and give it a second shot without my friend playing co-op. I rather would have played it co-op with him but so many said this is a good game I wanted to see more of it for myself. I still think the controls are screwed for a game these days but I got used to it after the first chapter with the right set up.
I enjoyed the fighting once I figured out shooting the enemies in the leg then killing them with a melee punch worked about the best. Also I figured out I didn't have to kill everything... After that I had fun along the way. The action is pretty over the top in some spots and the boss fights are what I really looked forward to in the end.
Too bad this was a rental I think I could have spent a bit of time leveling things up and running thru it on harder levels. I finished the game and played a few of my favorite chapters over at a harder level with infinite ammo on a magnum. Playing the game again with the new outfits was kinda funny, the cut scenes take on a different vibe with the characters in clubbing outfits.
Maybe when the game price goes down in the future I'll pick it up for my collection.
I took this game back and picked up Ninja Blade, wow what a change in pace after Resident Evil 5. I played through the first couple of chapters and took this back to the video store. Best comparison of this game is to Ninja Gaiden 2 but Ninja Blade is really it's own breed of game.
Someone at the company that made that game reeeeealy likes quick time events. I have discovered after this game that I really don't like quick time events at all. Take em out of all games for all I care... They have QTE for everything from blocking, dodging and boss battles. I started thinking about the old game Dragon's Lair the further they got into this All they needed was a QTE when you used the health spray and that would have been the last bit missing.
Maybe if you liked Ninja Gaiden 2 you would pick this up but I can't even say I would waste a rental on this and no way would I buy it.
