Just looking at the cover and gameplayof this game it made me think this would a hit in the US. Even if this a strategic role-playing game, this crossover would be almost big as Marval vs capcom. I would LOVE to buy this game!

Yeah I don't know why it never came out in the US.

I knew about his game and I'm really disappointed at the fact that it never made its way out of Japan. That burns me particularly because I'm a Strategy RPG nut. The reasons behind it never making an overseas release hinge on the following:
1. The simplistic graphics it features: Great sound and voice work but the visuals are mostly 2d low res sprites with brief animations, it really did not take advantage of the hardware it was running on. Therefore as it usually happens with the average consumer, if the graphics are not up to par, they think the game ois not worth it. 2. Translation issues: due to the insane amount of characters and voice work included in the game, it would have been very expensive and time consuming to translate all the dialog trees and story lines, let alone dub all the voice work for a game on a genre that most of the time has done poorly in the West (and don't get me started with Europe and multiple languages on one disc.)
But not all hope is lost, I believe this game may eventually make it as a downloadable application for XBLA or PSN. It took a long time for MvC2 to appear but it happened, so there is a chance it might happen for this game in not such a distant future if both Namco and Capcom decide it is worth the effort.

Its an RPG. I would have thought it a fighting game because of the use of Tekken and Soul Calibur characters.

I can't see any reason why it shouldn't be released here
Seems like an interesting game!
