Hi All,
It's been a couple of months so I figured it was probably about time for a new blog. Had a busy October/Early November at work, having to travel a lot, so I've been struggling to sit down and make myself blog! But here we are, so excuse me while I ramble on a little about my last couple of months! Let's split it into categories so that it's a little easier to read!
TV (No spoilers, I promise):
Let's see, what have I been watching in the last couple of months?
I'm into Chuck in a big way lately. It's a really fun show, weird concept but I love it. I would probably just repeat everything I said in my review for the show, so I won't bore you, but it's a really great show - excitement, espionage and just good all round entertainment! I just received the Season 1 DVDs in the mail and although I only watched season 1 within the last couple of months, I'm really loving watching it again. Check it out if you haven't already!

Next up, I've been watching lots of The L Word. I've watched many episodes of the show over the past few years, but as I was never a steady watcher (watched when I noticed it on), I got the storylines all jumbled up - I'd watch a S5 ep, then an S1 ep...etc. I've started from the beginning and I'm seeing the show in a new light now. I'm up to the 5th episode of season 3 so far (I think). I'm spoiled in the sense that I know how the season ends because that was one of the episodes I saw previously, but it's nice to now see the run-up to it. This one is not going to be a show for everyone like Chuck, but if you like a bit of relationship drama & some laughs, give it a try.

I've also been watching Samantha Who. I wasn't sure I'd like this one, but I'm actually really enjoying it! The episodes are only 30 minutes long, so they're nice and short for when I just feel like watching something before bed. I love the storyline - girl gets amnesia, finds out about the old her & tries to change herself. I would fit this one into the same kind of category as Chuck. In 30 years, I'm sure people won't really remember either of the shows - they're really fun shows now, but I doubt they'll last a whole lot of seasons (unfortunately) and they won't ever be a c.lassic, but in the here and now they're great entertainment and I love 'em!

Gaming:
A few months ago at work, I was awarded with a 150 pound prize for...I don't know, not being sarcastic for a day probably.
I could either claim a gift worth 150 pounds (in their opinion, in mine the gifts were worth 50 pounds and were being tagged as 150 pounds
) or I could get vouchers. I left the balance on the reward site for a while because I wasn't sure what I wanted to do, but in recent weeks I started to get back into gaming again. I had a PS2 previously, but it just wasn't doing it for me as much anymore, so I decided I wanted an XBox. Drew out my vouchers a couple of weeks back and purchased a shiny new Xbox. Tis very purty sitting in the middle of my floor.
I'm still getting the hang of the controls (keep forgetting which button is RB...Game tells me to press RB and I press the wrong button & it screams at me.
) but I'm getting there!!
Went on a little game-buying spree, but with Christmas upon us I've been banned from buying myself anything else, so for anyone interested, here is my current collection which will hopefully expand on Dec 25.
Project Gotham Racing 4 (came with the console)
Sega Superstars Tennis (came with the console)
The Simpsons Game
Lost Planet: Extreme Condition
Skate.
The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
Halo 3
Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas
Grand Theft Auto IV
Any recommendations, let me know! And for anyone interested, my gamercard is over on my Gamespot profile.
Music:
Been on a bit of a buying spree lately and when my previous MP3 player died, I did something I never thought I'd do...bought an iPod.

Purty huh?
Internet Life:
As I haven't blogged for so long, I didn't really get a chance to properly thank everyone for their congratulations on becoming a mod...so thank you to everyone! Thank you to the "old" mods for their advice & assistance while us "young" (
) mods learnt the ropes...much appreciated!
Other internet life stuff? Hmm, still playing away on Pogo, earning my weekly badges, still stumbling around the world wide web occasionally. Spending most of my time either here or at xbox.com though, looking at my pretty achievements!
Well, I'll stop talking now as I think this is way too long (well done if you got this far without skipping parts!). Hopefully I won't leave it quite so long between blogs next time.
Thanks for stopping by!

efc91 - I'm with you on Chuck being really fun to watch! I just love characters like Major Casey & Cptn. Awesome!! Humm...I seem to have a thing for characters with titles.
Thank you, I tried to get awesome games.
I do like my iPod...only thing I would say is that I'm not hugely keen on the volume control because when I'm walking or lying in bed, my iPod is usually at an angle, meaning the screen flips over, meaning that the volume control doesn't control the volume...it controls what's on the screen! Other than that, I really like it.
Thank you, I tried to get awesome games.

Chuck is such a fun show, like you said not a classic, but so entertaining. The concept is weird and because of it, the show really can't go on forever (I'm thinking 4 seasons at most?!) Its nice though to have some light-hearted TV in my schedule
Same for Samantha Who (and what you said about it being betime TV-totally true, I'd watch it before I went to bed over the summer!!) Its a great show and although I wasn't sure, I'm definitely going to watch s2 of both shows

Hi Newbie, I love love love Chuck it's definitely a feelgood show. Comedy, romance, action, adventure, you can't go wrong. Never watched the L Word but I do enjoy Samantha Who.

So that's the reason you got an Xbox...because it's free!
You've bought some damn hard games there, good luck with that!

FunkyFresh - Totally agree with everything you said and I'm also going to be watching season 2 of both shows!
April - I love a good comedic romance with some explosions, so it's pretty perfect!! The L Word isn't for everyone, Samantha Who is great though!

DanB - £19 actually!! The vouchers didn't quite cover it, but 19 quid for an xbox is not bad. I obviously forgot to tell you that part...and you thought it was just 'cause I was a hardcore gamer!!
Oh wait...we had that conversation, never mind.
Some of the games are worse than others. I'm finding Lost Planet a bit of a struggle. Still keep getting attacked by two big...rolling things (yep, hardcore gamer)...keep dying. Oh well, I'll get past it. Getting on pretty well with The Simpsons Game - about 51% complete I think - but then I'd be kinda embarrassed if I was struggling with that one.

I am pretty sure that I for one am REALLY glad you finally decided to blog!! *mumbles*
Chuck - Have never watched. You did lead me down the right path on “How I Met Your Mother”…so I might consider it.
L Word - I have only seen bits and pieces. Seems like a show I would like, might have to make more of an effort to take a look.
Samantha Who - Again never watched…hummm not sure about this one. I will consider getting back to thinking about this one.
Gaming…the closest I have come to gaming is the Nintendo DS Lite and V Smile Cyber Pocket I just purchased for Christmas.
Music - Sure is pretty…

Congrats on the mod chica…no problemo we are here to help!! Pogo is addictive isn’t it?!

R6:Vegas - no clue what it's like on the xbox, but it really rocks as a computer game - Vegas 2 is even better. Rod and I have played hours of it online together and it's loads of fun!
I like the new iPod too - you didn't tell me about that one.

Studawg - Yeah, I figured you'd probably be cussing me because the old blog was still up...but it was so purty.
Chuck is great, you gotta try it!! I would not lead you wrong.
Yeah I think you'd like The L Word.
Samantha Who you might like...might not, I'm not sure on this one for you...worth a try though, it's short enough that you don't lose anything by trying it. You're a hardcore gamer just like me, with your V Smile Cyber Pocket.
The ipod is sexxxxy. Thanks for the congrats.
Pogo can be addictive.

Ilyana - I'm pretty bad at R6:Vegas on the xbox...I can't tell where the shooting is coming from...I'm doing ok-ish though.
Oops, I musta forgot to tell you about the iPod! I got it before one of my work-trips so maybe by the time I got back it was old news.

Hey Newbie, Since I don't watch any of those shows and I don't game I don't have much to say. Except nice new iPod.

Hey Greta....thanks! Just your presence is enough for me.

Wow, that iPod is SO purty! *drools* You have a lot of nice new treats
I'm glad you're enjoying them, non-gamer that I am. Glad you still love the L Word too.
