Hey all you gamers and gamerets, hows life? Ya know its been quite a while since i posted a game review so ah why not huh? Heres a review i did of a game i just recently finished and shipped off to the middle of nowhere. good riddance.

Resident Evil Outbreak (PS2) review by Jess aka MizaterJ

So you think you're a good gamer? Think you got some skill? I bet you've played some tough games, and I bet you've been playing for a long time. So you say you've mastered Resident Evil 1 2 and 3.Alright, well Mr. Hot shot, let's see you complete this game...

Resident Evil is a series that is notorious for challenging game play. Since its beginning it has kept gamers on the edge of there seat, keeping them wired, in a constant state of panic. I feel the series has gotten progressively less difficult, up until RE Code Veronica which seemed to up the challenge or at least equal that of the original.

Well let me tell you, this game is no walk in the park
(with zombies ) It's a walk through Hell! Actually it's more like a panic induced, adrenaline pumping run for your life through the pit of hell. Needless to say the game is Hard! really hard! I mean even on the Normal Difficulty, you will constantly be in fear of death. If this game doesn't cause you paranoia, then you're pretty much immune.

Ok so in order to explain what I mean let me give you an example. From the moment you begin the first stage,(yes the game is now divided into stages called scenarios) the game will begin its countdown to your demise. It's simply waiting to unleash hell upon you.
In a matter of 1-2 mins your ass had better get moving fast, unless you want to be eaten alive by highly aggressive zombies. Capcom has taken the liberty to increase the speed, AI ,and attacks of the zombies you used to know and love to kill. Now they have the ability to strike you as well as grab and bite. This is just the very tip of the iceberg in the long line of changes the series has undergone in Outbreak. This game is tough as nails and more frustrating than a toilet that wont flush!

Although Capcom has made a strong attempt to enhance or upgrade the game play, this has ultimately made things much worse. Gone are the conventions of being able to save as long as you had an ink ribbon, the super convenience of the universal item box, and casually being able to look through your inventory regardless of the presence of an enemy. Resident Evil Outbreak takes all of those securities and rips them right out of your hands with no remorse.

The game is so intense and difficult its just plain cruel and grueling to trek through the latter stages. It will test your patience beyond belief. Every second of gameplay your life is tickining away, making the entire playthrough a stress related race agaisnt the clock. The game just barely manages to be beatable if you're a hardcore experienced gamer.

Besides the games overwhelming difficulty, there are many many complaint issues. For instance if you play single player, your AI partners will be chosen for you, and at times they are very much a burden instead of a support. These Computer controlled characters are of the poorest intelligence. They will annoy you, hinder you, confuse you, and cause all sorts of pain and frustrations as they attract enemies, scatter items, waste ammo, over use health, run off at random, refuse to obey orders etc etc...

If you think that's bad, baby you aint seen nothin yet.
The load times are Horrific, considering the number of doors you have to open from 1 second to the next about 50% of your game time will wasted on loading screens.

There are so many aspects of this game that contribute to its damnation, such as, mediocre to poor voice acting, uninspired story telling, boring pointless FMVs, delays when you bring up the map/inv menu, worthless items, broken auto aiming, respawning enemies.. The list is a mile long, and that's all just the offline mode. The game was designed to be played with others via Network, but I can only imagine how tragic must be.

The Boss battles, are few but epic none the less. Each one challenges you in a different way and proves to be
No pushover. Its not your typical run, shoot, heal, repeat. Some will have you guessing and others will show you no mercy. The Last Boss is your typical over the top, majorly cheap, unaviodable bastard.

The game does offer some nice detailed graphics, the best in the series on PS2 some good Sound FX, and the BG music isn't bad either. It includes some interesting level design, surprises, a few nostalgic moments, solid controls, and a lot of variety that you won't find in other RE games.

Overall if you can somehow manage to get passed the supreme difficulty you'll find a decent and tolerable game but, a complete waste of time compared to quality games. This has gotta be the Black sheep of the prestigious Resident Evil Family of games. Ok so it ain't the worst but don't ever consider it among the best, and guess what...They made a Sequel! Overall Score 6 outta 10

Bill Goldberg is slated to make a 1 time wrestling return! Apprently hes been training for more than 3 weeks for a show. He announced this on the fight network radion on Aug 22 2008. The big question is when and where is he wrestling? Id really like to know this. Im not a huge Goldberg fan but I think it would be exciting to see him get back in the ring. Theres always the hope that he will sign on with one of the 2 big promotions ( WWE and TNA ) but Goldberg is very picky and precise about his contract. When he was with WWE he was very dissapointed with how they managed him, and felt he was missued, therefore its very much unlikely that he will ever return to WWE,so how about TNA? Well can TNA really afford to pay him the type of salary he expects. No doubt it would be great to have him there, theres plenty of talent for him to work with, he could even get revenge on all foes like Kevin Nash, Scott Steiner ( who is still out but should be returning in 4 - 6 months ) and begin new exciting fueds with Kurt Angle, Booker T ,Samoa Joe, Abyss, and then theres Sting.

How about Stone Cold Steve Austin, who has been stating that he liked to make a 1 time return at next years Wrestle Mania. Remember Wrestle Mania 20, in 2004 when Austin gave a stunner to Goldberg after Goldberg defeated Brock Lesnar? A Goldberg v Austin match would be perfect for WM.

Who would you most like to see Goldberg wrestle?

Lets not forget about how Goldberg inadvertently ended te career of the Hall of Famer Bret Hart. Certainly there must be hostility between the two of them and if Bret were to ever step foot in the ring again Im sure hed like to get some revenge on Bill. Still this is exteremly unlikely, most noteably because Bret Hart has completely retired from the business,,ut wrestling fans may continue to dream of such a rematch, as well as many others involving Bret or Goldberg.

Theres many options for Goldberg's future of corse he can do just about anything he wants but, what would you like to see him do? Personaly I think if he doesnt decide to comeback to pro wrestling fulltime than, he should probably train for Mixed martial arts. I'd like to see him kick some ass in the heavyweight division and prove that pro wrestlers can make good fighters. With all the hype surrounding Brock Lesnar's MMA career, the addition of Goldberg would no doubt bring alot of interest to the fans and the sport. Then theres always the possability of a Goldberg v Lesnar MMA fight. How great would that be? Brock Lesnar could very well be on his way to becoming the next Big thing in the UFC, if he defeats the Legend Randy Coture at his next fight in Nov, not only will he be the Heavyweight Champion, but he will become the first pro wrestler to do so, and probably the heaviest champion in the companys history. Can Brock Lesnar climb the mountain, and if he does will other wrestlers such as Goldberg follow in his footsteps? If Goldberg were to start an MMA carrer he'd most likely do so with EliteXC where he works a a commentator. EliteXC is a top promotion with established fighters such as Frank Shamrock and Renzo Gracie. However the current Heavyweight Champion Antonio Silva would most likely be Goldberg's target.

Could Goldberg defeat Antonio Silva?

Speaking of Frank Shamrock, there seems to be alot of talk and speculation of hm fighting against his adopted brother and former pro wrestler Ken Shamrock. Now that both competitors are part of the EliteXC the match is much more likely to take place, and both men have shown interest in fighting the other, all thats left is to sign a contract. Frank Shamrock would be coming off a March 29th loss to Chung Le (yes that really is his name and i know what youre thinking LOL ) and Ken would be coming off 5 straight losses most recently in march. Its easy to say that Frank would be the odds on favorite to win this match, but it would hopefully be a close fight, and draw lots and lots of attention. However Frank will have to wait until after Ken's next match in October against relative newcomer and undefeated Kimbo Slice. Kimbo's most noteable victory was against former pro wrestler Tank Aboot in Feb of 08 in which he beat him in 43 seconds by KO. Kimbo also beat former WBO Heavyweight Champion Ray Mercer on June 23 2007 in his MMA Debut, however this was only considered an exhibition match.

Who will win Ken or Kimbo?

You might remember Ray Mercer as the guy who brutaly knocked out Tommy "the machine Gunn" Morrison from the film Rocky 5. Yes its was only a few years ago that Tommy was supposed to make his MMA debut and was calling out Chuck Liddell, but Tommy's fight wasnt officaly an MMA match, although standard mma gloves were used only punches were allowed and Tommy ended up winning by TKO against 340 lb John Stover. Morrison's career in sports altogether is severly limited due to his testing positive for HIV on June 8th 2007. His fights from now on will mostly likely be taking place outside the United States, his most recent win was in Feb 2008 in Mexico for a boxing match against Matt Weishaar.

Will Tommy Morrison ever make a big comeback? does he have a chance at MMA?

Alright time for some Sci Fi / fantasy criticism by yours truely,in this installment I'm going to review two movies of the same series

hows that for being consistent? For the first half we look at something very recent. Then we take a look at its predecessor. If you agree / disagree with theese reviews or just want your opinion read, please comment thanks. So without further ado i give you...

Star Wars Clone Wars

Hardly good enough to even carry the name Star Wars. The worst SW production since the infamous holiday special with Chewbaccas Family. This just didnt feel like SW to me, its was more of a kiddy show. For 1 thing Anakin's voice and personality is differnt from the films. Obi wan's charcter is much too staright edge , his dialouge is disgustingly formulaic. Honestly the things he says and way he says them, it sounds like a robot or computer talking. I pretty much suffered through this movie. The newest Jedi Asoka, is the most annoying and insulting representation of a Jedi, she sounds worse than a 13 year old girl on mtv. It makes me want to puke. How could they have found a voice so egotistical and blatantly irritating. Everytime she thinks I feel like shes going to talk about the shopping mall or her nails. There was nothing significant about this movie, the plot failed to entertain me, and the action was weak in comparrison with what weve already seen from the cartoon.
A poor poor excuse for a SW film. I give it a 5 out of 10

Star Wars ep 1 the Phatom Menace (1999)

Every story has a beginning, and this is the beginning of one of the greatest tales every told through cinema.

Before there was Vader, before there were Rebels, before Princess Leia married Chewbacca...ah wait scratch that last part,

There once was a little boy named Ani.

The chosen one the boy maybe, but many shadows surround his future.

He's just a boy, but yet the powerful energy that follows him is undeniable.

Born to a virgin and living as a slave the Boy is miraculously discovered by a wise Jedi and taken under his wing., thus the events of fate begin to unfold.

Star Wars the Phantom menace, is a reference to the Jedi's nemesis the evil and tyrannical Sith lords of the force, whose presence always remain hidden and shrouded in mystery. The Jedi who have long since fought off the Sith to there mere extinction, are now beginning to discover their revenge has been set in motion.

But Star Wars is much more than just a story about Jedi and Sith, it is also very much about the vast and diverse world they live in and the humans and creatures they protect or seek to destroy.

The vast emptiness of space yields itself to the dramatic events that are about to take place. From the moment you watch the marquee scroll by you anticipate the excitement of what is about to transpire. As the title suggests Star Wars is a movie about intergalactic warfare and interstellar battles beyond the imagination.

With a story so rich with origin and a predetermined future, it's hard to live up to everyone's expectations while filling in the gaps left open from this movies predecessors.

After all SW the Phantom menace is a prequel to the original Trilogy which broke box office records and cemented its place in the hearts of many adoring fans,

However this film manages to recapture a few of those fond memories as well as attract a new age of audience to its following.

The first chapter of a story general has a tough role to play, it has to establish characters and provide enough insight to interest the audience, and at the same time get the ball rolling in terms of plot development., this film is essentially the first chapter of the SW saga and delivers well on all aspects, including foreshadow.

If you ever asked yourself what would SW be like without the villainous Darth Vader, or the heroic Luke Skywalker, this is exactly your ticket. Filling in the role of the villain you so love to hate is the mysterious and intimidating Darth Maul, whose tribal tattoos face paint and ornamental horns represent an evil of epic proportions. Maul's silent nature is complimented by his dynamic actions and overwhelming presence. His very essence seems to be designed to strike fear into the hearts of his adversaries.

As for the hero of our story, a young Obi Wan Kenobi takes up the role quite well as he inspires us to promote justice and pursue honor. He is mentored by his Master Qui Gon Jin, a considerate and compassionate Jedi if there ever was one. The acting talents of Liam Neison portray Qui Gon with a strong sense of grace and intelligence, as he acts as a father figure to both the boy and Kenobi. Ewen McGregor's performance is likewise very sincere and emotionally profound. I greatly enjoyed watching the two of them share dialogue and play their part respectively. While on the other hand I found that Anakin's

Character seemed to be a little misguided. The musical flute theme that represents his innocence is very stereotypical, along with his boyish sense of adventure and curiosity.

For a boy who was born and raised without a father and into slavery no less, it doesn't quite add up logically that he would act this way. It also doesn't help when he makes expressions like Yipppee and Yeeaa. The overall feeling from his character is that he's just too much of a perfect child to fit into the story as a main character; his personality merely isn't complex enough.

However he's not the worst by any means, the absolute most notorious personality to ever appear in a Star wars film makes his debut. He's a walking talking disaster the size of big bird, by the name of Jar Jar Binks. Words cannot describe the abysmal qualities of this character. If they were looking to replace Chewbacca with another creative and colorful mascot character, they could have done a better job using a mop and a paint bucket with a smiley face drawn. Jar Jar Binks will go down in history as probably the most hated and ill conceived creation ever to come out of George Lucas's brain.

Moving on, Lucas relies heavily on the usage of CGI instead of props and puppetry to fill in the more imaginative gaps. Some prefer this method while other more traditional fans detest it. The CGI although entertaining and well animated, goes too far beyond reality and often creates a noticeable dividing line between itself and live action.

The movie is chock loaded with spills and thrills, action sequences that will shock and amaze. The pod racing scene for example is one of the most enjoyable parts of the movie, and serves as a wonderful prelude to the grand finale.

Exciting to say the least, the final battle is of such wide scale that it takes place from 4 different perspectives. Not only is there a battle taking place on land as well as in the sky, but our heroes, the Jedi are engaged in a light saber duel to the death, and as if that weren't enough, the queen and her loyal bodyguards are busy infiltrating the enemies complex, in order to seize their commander.

In dramatic fashion, just as it appears the good guys have lost and all hope is forsaken, an unlikely candidate saves the day, simply by pure luck.

Let the fireworks begin, after all it wouldn't be Star wars without a few massive explosions, a la the Death Star. How better to end the movie then bring all your characters together to celebrate their victory, and commemorate those who were lost? This is a wonderful representation of how togetherness can overwhelm adversity and triumph is more enjoyable when you share it.

Smiles, laughter, and praise, and as far as we know they all lived happily ever after, except Jar Jar Binks who was immediately executed. Now that would have been a truly happy ending.

Despite a few flaws with characters, overall SW ep 1 the Phantom Menace was a very enjoyable film, exciting, heartwarming, silly and adventurous. Highly memorable in more ways than one. I give it a 8 outta 10
