Happy Halloween

So, what are you going to do on this day? Well, personally I'm going to eat a lot of candy, watch some horror movies and play Left 4 Dead, though I may end up playing another horror game as well. If i do plan on dressing up, hopefully it'll be good. Hope you guys do something fun today.

Top 10 Best and Worst Horror Movies

Last year I made a list of good and bad horror movies. And what better way than too list them again here for many who missed it, you may agree/disagree with me, oh well, it's my opinion anyways.

Top 10 Worst

10. The Blair Witch Project

9. Alien v.s Predator

8. Hostel Part II

7. Black Christmas Remake

6. The Butcher

5. BloodRayne

4. Alone in the Dark

3. House of the Dead

2. BloodRayne 2

1. Zombie Nation

You can read my mini reviews about them here.

Top 10 Best

10. Cloverfield

9. The Fly Remake

8. Friday the 13th

7. The Shining

6. The Descent

5. A Nightmare on Elm Street, can't wait for the remake, woot!

4. The Thing

3. Evil Dead

2. Aliens

1. Alien

You can read my mini reviews here.

So that's it for that, I need to watch more horror movies.

Both L4D2 and MW2 are banned in Australia

Come on now, they can't be serious. While Left 4 Dead 2 is gory and all, they can't tone it down? Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 gets banned because of a certain moment in the game that has something to do with deaths of innocent civilians. Really? 2 of the biggest games in 2009? Wow man. I don't have much to say.

Do I like Borderlands?

Yes, I do like this game, after renting it on PS3, I decided to buy it on PC and is enjoying it so far. There are some problems like flaky enemy a.i., some repetition in the quests, nearly nonexistent story and a terrible ending, but the game makes up for it with 4 unique playable characters that can be upgraded to your liking, tons of guns to find and use, some interesting quests, great art direction and 4 player co-op along with over 20 hours of play time thanks to 160 quests to complete. I would say give it a shot but this game is certainly not for everyone. Still a great game though. Even better, the 360 and PS3 versions have been patched!

Star Fox

This series hasn't had a game in a while, and why is that? Sales, as Shigeru Miyamoto himself talks about it in this quote:

"I tend to forget those games [laughs]. I'm a big fan of the 'Star Fox' games. Every time we make a 'Star Fox' game I'm hoping people will enjoy it as much as I do. Of course the goal every time is to try and make it more and more fun but, at least in Japan, the people that purchase the 'Star Fox' games has decreased over the years. But we still try to make them more fun and hopefully people will see the appeal in those games."

I have an idea: Make one like Star Fox 64. Man, I love that game, I had memories of playing it and the multiplayer with friends. So yeah, get on take game.

Ratchet and Clank: A Crack in Time demo

The game is out and I played the demo to it. The graphics were noticeably improved while still maintaining 60FPS, amazing. You played as Clank and it plays similar to Tools of Destruction in controls and gameplay, though there are sections that add some uniqueness to the franchise:

You'll be in certain rooms that will have you cloning yourself to solve puzzles. You'll clone another one of yourself or 2 that can be recorded and even rewinded as well and they get tricker as you go along. Explaining it would be kind of tough to do, but it really does add something new and cool. You are actually required to think, in a Ratchet and Clank game, no way. Overall I enjoyed it and hope to add this one to my collection one day.

So I hope you enjoy this holiday, I am most likely.

For Halloween, I'll be playing Uncharted 2, since it's double money weekend and they changed all the skins to Skelzor and the Dead Explorer. I agree with all of the movies on the bad side of the list(not necessarily in that order) and most of the good list except for Cloverfield. That's literally one of my least favorite movies of all time. Longest 90 minutes of my life. I don't plan on getting Borderlands. Starfox needs to go back to the ships in order to sell. Assault had some awesome dogfights, but the 3rd person shooting was a bit clunky. The new Ratchet and Clank game is coming to me in the mail and I'll be playing it very soon.

The decent was an awesome movie. It was the caves that actually got me the most. I could never do what they did. Happy Halloween dude and enjoy yourself.

That was the single worst horror movie list known to man. No Halloween 1, No Exorcist, no Stephen King's It, and you put Descent and Cloverfield on the list?

Shining is hardly a good horror flick, ugh.....don't speak to me for a week

Insomniac stated in an article I read last night that they won't be making anymore Ratchet and Clank games in 60 FPS. That sucks. They want to focus on making the graphics better. Judging by the demo, the graphics weren't that great either. Uncharted 2 has spoiled my eyes.

I'm gonna watch the Florida vs. Georgia game today and start Valkyria Chronciles. I got bored with Borderlands. I think it's a pretty good game though, all the shooting was getting to me but I'll get back to it sometime.

Happy Halloween to you too, mitu123.

I noticed that L4D2 and MW2 were banned in Australia. They ban a lot of games down there.

I still haven't got Borderlands . But I should get it this holiday. I'm missing Dragon Ball for this.

And what Miyamoto says about Star Fox made me quit hyping for a Wii game. Don't get me wrong, I still love the series and it's still my number one Nintendo IP, but it either tells me a new game is coming, or he quit with the series. Which makes me stop hyping for a new game.

Alien vs Predator isnt supposed to be a horror....is it? 0.o
well as an action filim AvP is awesome!

I knew that Zombie Nation would be #1 worst. And they should bring Fox and his team to the Wii.

"Star Fox 64 2: Wii Edition": or something

Happy Halloween, Mitu.

"The Butcher", that sounds like a bloody movie.
Great lists by the way! I am not doing anything special today since there is no Halloween here. I couldn't possibly agree more with what you said about the next Star Fox game. Make me another Star Fox 64 and I will be very happy!

A Crack in Time sounds like a lot of fun! I wish I had a PS3 to play that game.

Too bad about L4D2 and MW2. I can see why MW2 because of that one scene but why L4D2? Just because it's violent? It's not even as bad as most games. Oh well, they're missing out.

Happy Halloween!

That sucks about banning those games in Australia, good thing I dont live there, no offense if you live there as well, but people there still have a chance to buy it online if thats possible. So hopefully you have a great Halloween and enjoy gorging yourself in mounds of candy tonight.

Halloween is awesome.

I can't wait for the Nghtmare on Elm Street remake either! That debut trailer was magic!

Going to a Halloween Party what else??? Also i remember that list and everything gets banned in Austrailia its nothing new
Posted Oct 31, 2009 11:09 am PT
I see we have a very common interest in movies! Alien and Aliens are also my top two horror films! I also loved the shining and have both versions of it on DVD!

happy halloween to you too

I would prefer more traditional Horror/Terror movies. "Night of the Living Dead"(196, "Carnival of Souls"(1963), "White Zombie"(1932) , Dracula"(1934),"House on Haunted Hill"(1959)and "House of Wax" the 3D version.

However the first two Halloween's and The Fog were good.As was Prom Night and The Amityville Horror.

Happy Halloween---also include "The Phantom of the Opera"(1925) to the above list

cool list, now I know two people who really didn't like blair witch project. Zombie Nation must be terrible if it's worse than Bloodrayne 2...

I got Borderlands too and I'm diggin it. I've been playing it with two of my friends non stop for the past few days it's addicting.

And as far as Star Fox is I always get really confused. Everyone loves 64 and hates Assault. What is so different about Star Fox 64 that makes it so great they don't seem much different to me. Oh and Crack in Time once again makes me jealous of ps3 owners.

I miss the Star Fox franchise. I remember playing the one on SNES and being blown away by the graphics. Man I loved that game, but I only got to play it for a weekend... it was just a rental.

I went to a Boston Bruins hockey game with a buddy of mine then went to another friend of mines house. We watched The Blair Witch Project (which was AWFUL) and 28 Weeks Later which i liked. Your top 10, some i like others i don't (I didn't like any Nightmare on Elm Street or Friday the 13th, preferred part 3). The Thing was awesome. Also no Halloween 1. What the Deuce?!?!
Posted Nov 1, 2009 9:51 am PT
Glad to see you had The Thing on your list that was a great movie I think I'll watch that today.
Posted Nov 1, 2009 10:00 am PT
well next time they make a star fox game don't let fox out of the vehicle, at least that should make it funner than the last few games.
Posted Nov 2, 2009 1:45 pm PT
Blair Witch Project is one of the worst but Friday the 13th is the best? I hope you don't mean the new one...But other than that pretty good list. I plan to get Borderlands on PC instead of my 360 as well, but because of mods.

Glad to see evil dead in the first 3 best horror movie! Gotta love Bruce Campbell.

lol at L4D2 banned in Australia, there's an option to choose the degree of gore in the option yet its still banned.
