I am giving this a somewhat generous 3.5. It is entertaining, for what it is, but it's a pretty dumb movie overall - great for watching when you are sick in bed or very tired possibly. The 80s references were pretty cheap and generic so that made it seem less "credible", but this movie is not necessarily meant to be accurate, more just light hearted entertainment. It's actually pretty funny in some parts and Jennifer Garner's character is very likeable, albeit naive. I think the naivete was supposed to be cute and she pulls that off. Mark Ruffalo just sort of plays the same "normal dude" role he does in every other film he stars in, but hey - there is maybe something to be said for the "normal guy"? For some reason, I have watched this movie more than a few times and still like it. I would say it is worth watching if you are looking for some innocent, somewhat mindless entertainment!

This movie is not about the time in Che Guevara's life when he was leading the Cuban Revolution. This film shows you the light-hearted, humorous young man he was before he realized his calling in life was to help the people of Latin America to fight back against the widespread injustice against the lower classes. As he and his best friend, Alberto, make their way through Latin America on a motorbike "travelling just to travel" they discover more about their nation than they thought they ever would. By journey's end, Ernesto has made it his purpose in life to find a way to aid in uniting these divided countries. He is no longer himself.

This is one of the worst "comedies" ever created. I totally walked out of the theater about 15 minutes into this film. I was only a preteen at the time and I still knew this movie was horrible. I will say, though, the title is genius....
