Some of you will not agree with everything I'm going to say or some may not even understand, but based on my experience of the cinema (Yes, I'm studying in this domain), this is my review of the movie.

It seems that recently, Hollywood enjoys movies with lot of complex storylines. This has been proved with "Babel" and the recent "Spider-man 3." You have a movie with many storyline and characters, which are not exploited and/or defined, and the movie only relies on the special effects to please the viewers and the story drags for hours. This works pretty well generally since the general viewers won't ask for the story, but only for the special effects and will only remember those. "Pirates 3" will seem (and is) complicated at the beginning. All those creatures, jokes, hallucinations and secrets alliances etc.. are preventing you to figure out what the hell is going on. But, with a bit of patience, everything is clearly, and cleverly, explained. Through you may not be able to understand it all immediately (I'm still confused 3 hours after seeing the movie) it will be making more and more sense.

So much happens to the characters in the movie that describing everything that happens to each one of the character is quite hard. Jack, Davy Jones, Barbossa, Will and Elizabeth, Calypso, Lord Becket, Jack's Father??, the Chinese guy, etc.. etc.. have so much going on suddenly. It's quite amazing to see how their life and decisions from their past keeps affecting them. Each character has its own story, with a past and a present and a future, and at the end they all mix together to complete the general story. But you still wonder why some of the characters have decided to go this way and not the other. Everyone gets their moment of truth and/or triumph, with Knightley's Elizabeth attaining a particularly spectacular level of empowerment.

Many won't even care about the complexity of the storylines and will only focus on the amazing acting or/and on those fantastic special effects from ILM (Industrial Light and Magic.) Even if we know this isn't reality, it damn looks like it. The actors are all giving their best, even those guys that are in the backgrounds and dies are doing a great job. Like many others, I've been amazed by the beauty and realism of the photography since the first movie. It keeps getting better and better. The "Pirates" series keep pushing the limits of the CGI and put the standards pretty high for other movie who will use CGI in the future. From a fleet armada, to a dead creature on a beach, to Singapore, you are absorbed in a new world. The world of "Pirates of the Caribbean".

If you think that this seems to contain a lot of stuff for 170 minutes, you wouldn't believe everything that I haven't discussed in this review. Much more is in the movie. But even if globally we are not disappointed, the viewers who give more attention to the story will be disappointed. When there is no comedy or action scene, the story seems to going on for ever. "At World's End" rarely drags and is almost always entertaining, but when it drags, it really drags a lot. You can clearly recognize those scene in the movie. More work on this part would have been much appreciated, because its the second time that this happens and we were in right to expect something done about it.

The movie is quite satisfying, but will we see a fourth movie or should Jack simply stop to run after his ship and be happy to be alive after all this? Jerry Bruckheimer agrees that the crew and cast should (and will) take a break to do other things and think about it. After all, this movie is probably the best ending of a series you can get. Through it would have been nice to see Jack being Captain of The Pearl. But as always in the movies, a hero must choose between his desire and his duty. The hero can't have both and this create the big dilemma.

Good movie, but we were expecting much more from it. 3.5/5 to 4/5 stars for "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End." I'll buy the DVD and keep enjoying it again and again even if its not the most amazing movie ever.

I kind of like it. I was extremely impressed by the visual effects --even if you never see any blood on the ground-- during the battles. But, the script was horrible and was looking like the movie Gladiator. this believe was reinforced by all the scenes that they are in some field.

It was extremely easy to figure out what was going to happen during all the length of the movie. I did enjoy a big part of the actors performance and even through they didn't had a great script, they did something with their performance.

To conclude, we can easily see that without a script and even if a movie has some fantastic visual effects, the movie won't be amazing.

That was so funny! I was really surprised by the quality of the movie. I wasn't really expecting anything from it but I ended up being really happy with my choice. Excellent movie with some nice CG and a great story.

I can't say that this movie is in my favorite ever movies. It simply didn't had what you wanted to see and it wasn't as good as the first one. It,s simply a bad movie created to make money.

The movie didn't really worked in Canada. It had the worst ratings and number you can imagine. I think the Canadian mentality isn't for this kind of movie that I have found awful. Nothing in it was interesting to me.

Enjoyable and surprising. The movie has some good things. A good writing, some good performances by the actors and it surprise you all the time. Really enjoyable movie and I was really impressed by it.

It was good, but even if I prefer the TV series of the same name, I think the movie had some potential and could have been much better. Good writing and some okay actor performances.

I wasn't impressed at all by this movie. I didn't found anything new in it or anything surprisingly good. The script bored me and the actor performance wasn't the best I've seen.

It's a classic. everyone knows or has heard of this movie and has only good things to say of it. Beautiful story and some great actors created a terrific work.

It's not my typical kind of movie but I did enjoyed it. It has a terrific story and some terrific actors. It's certainly a classic and a fabulous movie.

It wasn't good enough. I'm sure many people loved it, but based on the story and actor performance, the movie was lacking of it. It still was interesting, but it wasn't what I was expecting.

I think I was bored a little too much by the actor(s) performance and sometime by the script. I liked the story but wasn't feeling like if it was good enough for me or for this movie.

I've enjoyed it, was a bit disappointed by the story, but I still enjoyed it. I think the strong points of the movie were its music and the Cg and certainly not the story. A little more work on the story could have helped a lot the movie quality.

It certainly is a perfect example of what a movie should look like. A great story, a great actor and a wonderful photography. This movie is certainly one of the greatest movie ever made.

Excellent performance by Tom Hanks, but even if I was bored from time to time, I liked it because of the story and not only because of the acting. But, I'm sure that without Hanks' performance, and sacrifice (his weight), the movie wouldn't have...

I remember when I've watched this and where, but the movie wasn't that good to be franc. It had its moments but it wasn't really based on a great story, only on CG and some acting. Globally, the movie was disappointing.

I've liked it, but I wasn't really excited about the movie. It had some good scenes and funny moments, but it could have been much more than what they gave.

It wasn't that good. Sure, the performance of the actors was good, but the story itself was bad. I never really got attracted by the movie and the story it had. It simply didn't worked at all for me even if many other things in the movie were great.

Even if it was made in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the movie wasn't that good. It had many good scenes and funny moments but didn't had a strong enough story to complete the mix.
