Zelda = 1 game
Play Time = 40 hours
Batteries = 4 AA (almost had to change the batteries twice)
So what to say about the Wii battery life? It's no Wavebird, but maybe one could squeeze a little more life out of it if he turned the speaker and rumble off. As for Zelda, it seems that if you turn the speaker volume all the way down on the controller the sounds will come through your standard speakers. Since the speaker on the controller basically sounds like a blown out headphone, playing the sounds through a real sound system may be for the best.
Regardless of the battery life, I think The Twilight Princess is a lot of fun, with some interesting characters and interactions, though maybe not as much charm and charisma as other Zelda titles. It seems like, since Ocarina at least, Nintendo is attempting some kind of cohesion between the titles, and I wish they would pursue that more. It's interesting to think about how this game fits into the overall legend, but it's sad if there really isn't a grand story arc and any hint of a unified timeline is purely fan fiction. I think Ocarina has added the most in terms of fleshing out the Zelda mythos for me, but Twilight definitely adds some unique wrinkles.

Let's wire up 8" subwoofers to the Wii Remote, so fools can hear me swingin' my sword from up the block.

I just ordered the Mad Catz "Bucket o' Batterries" and hired a personal foley artist to replace the speaker in the remote. It's like Epona is right there in my living room!

The Wii speaker is awesome! This is a special feature (that any other controller doesn't have, so far, I think
) that has to be experienced through the whole great Zelda adventure! Sure it sounds cheap, but it's cool anyways! The smacks with the tennis racket in Wii Sports are truly unique! You have to admit that.
And the batteries last very long imo. I changed them two times with approximately 59 hours of gameplay in Zelda.

yeah, I'm quite annoyed with the battery life on the Wii-motes. I actually lost my batteries in the final Gannon dual. Last time I used rechargable batteries were back in the days of the Original Gameboy so my recharge batteries are all with oxidized crud on the layer, so I can't use them. I'm considering buying the Nyko Rechard battery station instead. Which I could read someone's long term review of it much like the Japanese DS Lite came 4 months before the USA version.

I don't remember much of Ocarina's plot line.. He started out back in time or maybe flashbacks and you could transport forward to the ruins of Hyrule. Other than that I don't remember more than all the great innovations and dungeons. I can still remember the storm song from the original N64 version with the organ grinder guy inside the windmill. Didn't he have a monkey?
Edit: Happy Birthday.

Rechargeables FTW! I have found the Wiimote speakers best at the lowest setting without actually being off, that way you cannot hear how crappy it actually sounds.
Great avatar, by the way. Where's Uni?
