Hi there you all! How are things going?

I'm here to introduce my new project. Yesterday, Celes,Full_Metal1923, Kryu88 and I (and my Brazilian friend Destroya, and waiting on Oblivion's reply! XD) opened a new union, Square Enix Reunion. Do I need to say what it is about? XD

First things first, some of you know I had been leader at SEE for quite some time last year until I had to leave for a while for personal reasons. Due to some circumstances, I decided to permanently relinquish my leadership at SEE last week.

I am very proud of the things I have done to SEE last year, many of them which wouldn't have been able to exist without the help of the wonderful officers I recruited last year. I remember when Fantasy_Gamer invited me to take care of the newly stabilished union; there was hardly anyone posting there due to some events that happened and which made SEE coming into existence. I also remember Fantasy_Gamer giving me my first "duty": to clean up the archives sections!

This had been my first real experience taking charge of such a big union (at least if only by number of members, but not of activity). And it was a challenge that I had decided to take and see how far could I go. Because deep inside, as a SE fan just like any of you, I knew what was missing there.

Well, months came by and eventually, we started coming up with many different things that made SEE be what it has become right now; we implemented various activities and the union started to ignite. We went over the 4,000 members count, and more importantly, we grew to know each other better in the process and make friends. It wasn't anymore just about Square Enix games, but the PLAYERS, the COMMUNITY in it. My idea in creating the Character System was to give us a "nudge" to become more informal with each other, to be more friendly. And I believe that at least on that matter, I succeeded.

At any rate, things happen and now here I am. Last week I gathered some very nice people and asked their help to form a brand new union. We are going to thrive to excel on the same concepts we had in mind for SEE, and of course, add more things to it. Because I believe in always changing. We can't allow things to stagnate, or else they lose their glow. We have always to keep improving, trying to figure out ways to make things better - because the possibilities are endless if you look at the right way and with the right intentions.

That being said, I invite everyone who reads my blog and who would be interested in a Square Enix community, to join us!

Square Enix Reunion

I hope you enjoy it there. We will work hard to make that union have the shape and content we have in mind, and keep the community growing not just in numbers, but in building strong friendships. And on a last note, thank you very much for everyone at SEE who gave me their support during the time I was the leader, and thank you very much also for those supporting it now at Square Enix Reunion! We can make it through!

Thanks for reading my blog, as always! Oh, and coming up next, my Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion Wars review!

PS: We had quite a discussion as for the name of the new union.... two options were fought over with all heart and mind - "Reunion" and "Republic". Unfortunately Celes and I were minority with "Republic", thus "Reunion" became the union's name. I am curious as to what you guys would have chosen? Square Enix Republic, or Square Enix Reunion? Please feel free to comment on this!

Well, if I cared about either Square or Enix (or the Union system for that matter), then i'd join. But, I hope it goes well, regardless. And review SquarEnix games that aren't just Final Fantasy, or Dragon Quest games.

Allerka: That's alright, and thanks for your comment! As for the reviews, I do try hard to review different games that aren't FFs; I did review Mass Effect, Jeanne Dark! XD
After my FFT review, the next in line is probably Lost Odyssey!

Community is pretty much what the unions are about to me. I have the same thing in the RPG Temple, actual friends. I hope to make the same in reunion and I impressed with it so far. I have been on best behavior in there but I am sure I will soon slip into some rants of SE games I hate XD

Looks like you made a lot of success, congrats

Love your new union

Oh yes. The trials and tribulations of the pre-SEE period. I have been told about that from one who was caught up in all of it, and was pressured by the leader back then. I know how bad it was back then from the in depth explanation of what happened. It's great you brought it back.
As for the Square Enix Reunion, I think that's good. You read my reasons, about our 'family' you know?

People prefer Reunion, you must accept it!

I remember you blogging about becoming leader of SEE....holy crud was it that long ago? XD

I know SER will be great, we've already got a pretty well established community there and more will come.

Oh and... REPUBLIC FTW!!!!!!!!!! XDDD (It will always be republic in my heart )

I don't really have time for more than one union, but should I have, I will make this union my first choice. I took a peak there. Looks really good to me, good job!

Yeah, I know, I've just joined it

so far i love the union, it's sad that you've left SEE after so long, but all good things must come to an end . i probably would have chosen reunion, just because "the square-enix reunion union" ryhms and sounds cool

What Lightfellower said...

yea love that union but man i wish you were still leader

I would have gone with Square Enix Republic, but that is just the dictator in me I guess.

Good luck on this new venture Michelle. I'm sure that the union will do great. You did a hell of a job at SEE, so I wouldn't expecting any less at SER.

SER is an awesome union!

I also vote for Reunion..
Posted Mar 25, 2008 7:40 am PT
woo hoo to the reunion. It's fun so far and the ID badge system is nice
Posted Mar 25, 2008 8:58 am PT
Good luck in the new union! I've joined up as you know so I hope to see you around there Also, Reunion is a MUCH nicer name! XD
Posted Mar 25, 2008 9:22 am PT
Uhh, both names work. I'm still trying to decide whether I want to stay in the SEE or move over to SER, I'm not going to rush the decision.
Posted Mar 25, 2008 10:03 am PT
i hope you can do this....

Like DraconigenaDeus said, both names work. I left SEE after joining SER. I love the freshness. It's going to be great!

I've signed up, but I'll not be active in the short term (I've not been to any of the unions for a while). As I told Kris while you were discussing it (and later on as a comment on Celes' blog), I think that Reunion is a better name due the FFVII reference. I also think that this name represents the fact that SER is a reunion of former SEE members.

I'm definitely jumping into this one since this there has been quite a lot of mess on SEE these days (although it's too bad that SEE was actually the REAL original Final Fantasy Union back then)

WOW, the union looks great michelle. Congrats on opening your first union. Hope you will have as much fun with the union as I had with mine. Sorry if I was a little late on the reply, but I am honored you guys picked me as charter member. ^__^

Already have the Final Fantasy Fans Union, Barclay Premier League Union, and my UCB for Australian Rules Football to take up my spare time.

But this one sounds almost too good to pass up.
