Haha... I umm.. kind of forgot to tell you all that I, uh, was going away for 11 days. Well, not neccessarily going away for 11 days - but would not have the internet at my disposal for 11 days.

Oh sh!t! There's a spider crawling against the wall..
Yuck.
Sorry, thought I should mention that.

Anyway, so yeah, just in case any of you thought I was dead... or abducted by aliens (I've been watching Roswell compulsively)... or that I had purposely chosen not to go onto TV.com... I thought I'd let you know that I was just away for a little bit.

So yeah, what is new in TV land?
I hear the writer's strike is still going on... Bummer...

Anyway, this is a bit of an update on what I've been watching:

ROSWELL
Well, I finished. I'm proud of myself. I was able to control myself and watch all three seasons within 22 days. That's pretty good for me. The Christmas before the one that just came, I got ALIAS seasons 1-3, and I went through them within like 13 days or something!
So yeah, I was able to spread myself out a bit.
I think I did well considering I didn't have a computer for 11 days, and have realised just how much I rely on it to live.

Anyway, back to Roswell. I thought the first season was good. A little too "Max-And-Liz"y, and obsessive over those two, but it was good when Emilie de Raven joined the cast.
Although she wasn't the most likeable character, she definitely brought something to the show... despite her annoying Australian accent.
I don't sound like that, do I?
I hope not.

I thought the second season was awesome at the beginning. I really, really loved it. But once the "other" versions of Max, Isabel, Michael and Tess came in, the show was a little ... weird. I didn't like it as much. Until Alex's death, and Liz was on her investigation to solve who did it.
I thought the ending was satisfying to that.

The third season was a whole other thing.
Every season has a different feel to it, and this one felt a lot less highschooly. I'm not sure howI feel about the Isabel/Jesse pairing yet, and how that all played out, but I overall enjoyed the last season.
The ending was great.
I mean, yes, they are still on the run from the law, and there may have been a few things that weren't really tied up, but the ending gave me a nice, warm, satisfying feel in the end.

I wish there were a forth season, but you take what you can get, right?

I'd recommend Roswell to people who are into "love ships". I don't think that if you are neccessarily into Buffy and Angel, you will automatically like this show.
Yes, it's sci-fi/supernatural.
Yes, it's aimed at teens..
But it's on a whole different level of... everything.
The writing, acting, wit, etc., isn't at the same standards of Buffy and Angel, however, I don't think the show falls short of quality television.

It has it's cheesy, illogical and inconsistant moments, but overall, it's a good show.
My Rating: 7/10

JOEY
OK, so the series improved a little bit, I think, further into the series.
It's still average comedy, averagecharacters, and in no way the same league as Friends ever was, but I'm not writing it off as horribly unwatchable.
Although, I've yet to see the second season, so...

Not much to say about this series, except for what's already been said.

End of Blog

eeeeww i hate spiders! the strike sucks, i think all tv addicts agree. i was never really a roswell OR joey person (although i'm a big fan of katherine heigl...grey's anatomy, anyone?)

ok that comment was the size of...*quickly thinks of a tiny country*....ghana.

I love Roswell.
Season one was my least favourite, way too much Max and Liz, not enought Isabel.
Season two was great! Max and Liz weren't together, other awesome characters actually got storylines, and the Isabel centric episode "Surprise" is my favourite episode of the series.
Season three was good, Katherine Heigl was great that season, even if the Isbael/Jesse thing was irritating. Though, it's a shame Alex wasn't in this season apart from one episode, Colin Hanks was awesome.

groetjesgeertje, hey! Australia is awesome. It's not like I live in the stereotypical country part of it, wearing a hay hat, while riding my kangaroo to school!
And yes, OTH season four is quite awesome! I thought it was a lot different from previous seasons. Still majorly cheesy, but I think the writer's were going for a heavier drama (Psycho Derek, the point-shaving, etc.)

asutho, it's worth checking out, even if you don't end up liking it. And yeah, Joey does suck most episodes.

vmarsrox, I like Katherine Heigl too. Although I'm a casual viewer of Grey's Anatomy, I can't stand her character anymore. Stupid Izzy.
Anyway, I suppose your tiny comment will just HAVE to do.

tvfan, yeah, the romance was a bit over the top in season one. I also loved the episode "Surprise". It was one of the show's best.
Yeah, Alex was good.

Thank goodness you're back... One day I was going through my watched blogs and I realized that you hadn't written one in a looong time. I got really worried. But yay, you're back! And about Roswell: the one thing I remember of it is that it was way too Max/Lizzy. So I agree with you there.

I defenitely agree that people who are into ship heavy shows will probably like Roswell but I also agree that being a Buffy/Angel fan automatically means you'll like it. Believe me I know. I mean it has some things in common with both shows. All three are scifi shows that are aimed at teens but Roswell is not in the same league as Buffy and Angel, not by far. I'm not saying it's horrible in fact it's totally watchable it's just not Buffy/Angel to say the least.

Oh. Were you gone?

vesper, ooh, it's nice to know that someone noticed. Anyway, yeah, I showed my sister an episode, and when she watched the opening titles, she was like: "Is this show just about those two characters?" She hates it.

SMGslayer, yeah, I was expecting it to be of the same quality or near, from what I've heard. So originally I was a bit disappointed with it, but it turned out pretty good.

AuntArlene, I refuse to reply to that.

Yep the writer strike is still continueing. I can't wait until it's over. I miss the shows, I miss the imagination the writers gave us. But oh well patience is the key of life.

Mel-Belle, yes, I'm dying to get some new shows in. But I think this gives me time to catch up on some shows I've wanted to rewatch for ages, but have never had the time due to new shows. So I guess there is a semi-upside to this awful strike.
