Wow is all I can say. This gal is absolutely fantastic. I saw her as Natalie/Ed in 'All Shook Up' and couldn't get enough of her. I was really bummed when Tarzan closed a few weeks before I got back to NYC...I would have loved to see her in another musical. Also, I am a huge Hairspray fan, and since she played Brenda, who's nine month leave from the Corny Collins show gives Tracy her position, is just icing on the cake. When she sings 'Ska Doodle Doo Doo Wah' at the end of (It's) Hairspray, it is amazing. She can have so much power and sing so high. It's astonishing. Also, Brenda is my second favorite character in Hairspray all because of the way that Jenn played her. With the gagging, and throwing up, and everything. It made me want to watch her throughout the whole play...and I did just that. I seriously hope I can see her in another musical soon. Jennifer Gambatese is one of the all time greatest actresses! One of my favorite too (next to Laura Bell Bundy and Kerry Butler). Jenn is magnificantly wonderful!!!

Colleen was an excellent Amber in the 1988 movie, Hairspray directed by John Waters. She really set the standard for Brittany Snow in the new Hairspray remake movie. Anyway, since us Hairspray viewers did not get to hear Colleen sing in the Hairspray movie, we didn't know that she is a superb singer!!! Since she was the lead singer of the alternative rock band, Eve's Plum, and the lead singer in the 90's pop band, Vitamin C, who's smash hhit was Smile, we all know that she can REALLY SING!!! I think that she should get more opportunities to be in movies, because she is so excellent! She brought Amber to a new level of mean, that was not captured in the spirit of the broadway play, and probably not in the movie. Also, she had her kissee and spastic side too.

I would say that I'd like to see him in another musical and laugh when he bombed it again...but I think that I cursed myself, because I just found out that he will be playing Link Larkin in the 2007 Hairspray remake! :-( I MaY be Hairspray's #1 fan (probably not) but he is just not Link matieral...and how come he keeps getting parts in musicals if his voice has to be dubbed? I don't find that practical! How is this possible??? Also, the only reason Jamie got the part of Zoey in Zoey 101 is probably because of her sister. I mean, she wasn't really even that good in All That!!! She shows pratically no expression! None at all!!! I can tell that on camera she is just being Jamie and not even trying to get into her character! This is an example of what Jamie does:

Jamie as Zoey (smiling acting happy): I am totally mad about it...I am soooo depressed.

She acts the OPPOSITE as she is supposed to, when she is supposed to be happy, she acts sad, and when she is supposed to act sad, she acts happy. I'd love to see her in a broadway, I mean, that is kind of hypothetical, because, I mean, she wouldn't even get the part to begin with, but say she did. I would love to see the play because I would like to see her forget her lines and get booed off stage!!! She needs to take some acting classes!!!

Anyway, I find it amazing how she can act her part throughout the whole scene, and never actually lost her character. That, my friends, it an extremely hard feat to achieve. So, I think that she is a wonderful actress and singer, and, really, has to be great to hit those notes on "Defying Gravity" and at the beginning of the next scene after "Mama I'm a Big Girl" now in Hairspray.

Also, when you listen to the cd, (you SHOULD have seen the play by that point) you just imagine what the characters are doing and how their reactions are, so when I imagine Corey/Seaweed acting while singing, I imagine it being strong, and that he is really getting into the character he is playing. I hope to see him acting in some more plays, shows, or movies some other time.

Also, the expressions on his face and evertime he says a line, you just know how much he is into his part. He really makes the play believable. He is a wonderful actor and I hope that he continues to act as well as he can.

Anyway, she was also highly talented in "Beautiful Girl" which was an incredibly awesome movie about a girl who wants to win a honeymoon from a beauty paegant. If you have not already seen this movie WATCH IT!!! To get back on topic, she is also a superior singer, which has got her very far in her acting career. I hope to see her in another movie or musical soon. I wish they had casted her in the Hairspray movie remake, that would have been totally and completely awesome 'possum.

I think the play is hysterical and gets me cracking up everytime...and the music is the kind of music where you can sing along for 750 days straight!!! I will always remember sitting in the front row and watching Hairspray...what a memory! The cast is wonderful and there is nothing much more to say...but I will think of something. I am a HUGE hairspray fan, and cannot wait for the movie to come out...but even I know that the celebrites in the movie will not come nearly as close to doing as good a job as the original broadway cast did. There are some things that I did not like about what they did with the recitation of some of their lines, but mostly, I was diappointed in the performances I saw without the broadway cast. Amber is the best character, with her mean-ness, and awesome-ness. Personally, I enjoy everything about her...Then comes Brenda, the one who takes the unexpected nine month leave of absense from the show...ultimately giving Tracy the opportunity to audition. And get on the show. Brenda gags and throws up and gives a lively performance, which is incredibly entertaining!! Who knew watching a pregnant girl dance around could be so fun? All in all, the whole cast makes Hairspray the best broadway show, which I recommend to the whole world!!!

I still can't believe that people are obsessing over Zac Efron and saying that he is a great singer, although he is not the one singing. Also, if people knew that there would be more of a fan club over at Andrew Seeley's little spot instead of Zac Efron's. Overall, he is a wonderful singer.

You would also think what an excellent actress she would have to be to originate on of these roles in a great play like Hairspray is. Next, Little Shop of Horrors. Kerry left the Neil Simon Theatre to play a much larger role (Audrey) in a Little Shop of Horrors revival. I have seen videos on her website of her singing on the show, and boy, was she superb!!! She got so completely into her part, it was amazing! I could tell that the casting directors made the right choice to pick her for the role. Boy, oh boy, do I wish I could sing like Kerry, that would make my life perfect (or close to at least...) Kerry Butler is one amazing, talented, and wonderful singer and actor!!!

If I saw Hide and Seek in a few years, I would not be scared and think that it was not even close to being a good movie. Having people in too many movies and tv shows makes them less and less special. In a few years, what will we have? Maybe a person that has lost her specialness over the years. And also, she might not try so hard to get cast as parts in shows and whatnot, because she was in sooo many things. That's just my opinion.

I love the play Hairspray and I think that Laura did a wonderful job in it! Also, I was looking on her fan club one day and noticed that she was in Jumanji and the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn when she was younger, so I decided to rent those movies to see when her great acting talents began. Laura is about to hit the theatres with her new movie Surf School where she plays Doris. Now, she is playing Elle Woods in Legally Blonde. She is absolutely fabulous. Everytime she gets on stage, one just wants the cheer and cheer and cheer. Well, I'm nost just saying that because she is my idol. I'm saying that because she truly is ah-mazing. Even when I met her and got her autograph after the show, she was so down-to-earth and nice. She was really great. Ha. I was so starstruck my mother had to talk for me. Anyhow, everytime she acts, she is totally and completely believable and really makes watching the show worth-while!!! Even by just listening to the Hairspray cd, you can tell that Laura was really into her part and intensely created the role of the evil Amber Von Tussle. And the roles of Elle Woods, Glinda, and Amber are so different. It is amasing that she pulled off all of those roles well. I did not see her in Wicked, but, if she had taken the role of Glinda after Kristin Chenoweth left, then I would have seen her instead of Jeniffer Laura Thompson. But, at least I saw her in Legally Blonde, which she was nominated for the Tony for. I was hoping and praying she would win the award. Each time she was on camera, I would give her a standing ovation. She deserved to win that Tony. After being dedicated to acting, singing, and dancing for so many years.

It is amazing that she can pull off the hard musicals, directing shows, and even Sunday acting classes at the exact same time. She may be a harsh director, but she does get the job done! She is a great director, and, I believe has really helped improve my acting skills. I think that, without her assistance, I would not be as good as an actress as I am currently. Since I was in her "last" play, I was really disappointed when the play ended because I think I am really going to miss her tremendously! She is such a phenominal director, and I don't think I have much more ot say.
