i have a 5-page term paper to write comparing lifestyles in big cities, such as Las Vegas, and small (not necessarily rural) towns. So, i'm gonna conduct a little survey, and i'd greatly appreciate any feedback (answers don't have to be elaborate; simple answers are just fine; also, you don't have to answer all the questions). This is a pretty big chunk of my grade, so i'd be extremely grateful for your help! Thanks! ^_^

Questions for those who live (or have lived) in Vegas (or any other big city, i.e. NYC, Chicago, etc.):

How long have you lived in the city?

Is tourism (if present) a good thing or an inconvenience to residents and why?

What do you think about the 24-hour life?

Opinion of citylife (good vs. bad; convenient vs. inconvenient; comfortable vs. uncomfortable; etc.) and reason for your opinion (again, a simple response is good enough):

Question for those who have lived in a small city or town:

Name of city or town:

How long did you live (or have you lived) there?

Opinion of the way of life (good vs. bad; convenient vs. inconvenient; comfortable vs. uncomfortable; etc.) and reason for your opinion (again, a simple response is good enough):

Small Town
Aurora, Ontario
Lived there for 18 years

Living in a smaller town definetly has a better feel for me, i don't like the crowdedneess of big cities, all the people, noise and pollution. Living in a smaller town does give you less accesability to things that you could easily find in a larger city, so its not so great in that respect, but I myself live fairly close to Toronto, so i can get there for things i need without much difficulty. In the end, i think that small towns are just a little more quiet and subdued than a large city, which gives it a more comfortable feel and can just be much more relaxing.

Hope my input helps, good luck with the paper greaterjay

This place used to be small, but as the ring of suburbs around Detroit grew it's kind of lost it's small town feel. I've lived here all but 5 of my 27 years.

I do prefer the small town vibe, but it's hard to argue with the convenience of the city. Even stores that used to be 20,30 minutes away are popping up down the street.

I don't keep a decent sleep schedule anyway, so it's nice finding things open after midnight. But I don't go out much, so it doesn't really matter.

We don't get a lot of tourists 30 miles out of Detroit, but New Baltimore is right on the water, so we do see a lot of boaters during the summer. I work in a grocery store, so I can't complain about the boost in business.

Hope this helps you Mega.

@greaterjay: Aurora sounds familiar. Is that anywhere near Beeton?

Ya it is, Beeton is to the west of Aurora. It's a little under an hour drive to get there.

Hmm, not quite where I thought it was. I thought maybe I had passed near there on my way to relatives in Beeton, but not if it it's to the west. Perhaps I just saw it on the map while route-plotting. I love maps.
