Every May I check out the new fall shows and jot down which ones I'm interested in watching. My picks from last year's newbies only resulted in one returning show: The Mentalist. This year there are five shows I'm planning on checking out, with an additional four that'll be hitting the airwaves in January. This is on top of my returning shows: Heroes, Friday Night Lights (oh such a huge YAY!), the aforementioned Mentalist and House. Midseason brings: Lost, 24 and Idol. And let's not forget the most likely winter return of Damages. Shows under consideration: The Forgotten (more interested in the cast than the premise), Eastwick, Flash Forward, The Vampire Diaries (which I fear will be beyond cheesy thanks to the CW and I predict it will be the first new show I "dump"), and Glee (which I have already checked out. Jane Lynch rules!). Midseason I'd like to check out: Happy Town, Day One, Parenthood (another "I want to see the cast more than the show), and Past Life. This year saw the demise of some of my favorites: Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone, Life on Mars and Terminator. And Prison Break signed off, which will free up some time consdering I will no longer have recapping duties. The first show I "dumped" this year was My Own Worst Enemy. Alias will forever be the ultimate in spy dramas so I don't know why I bother with copycats. I also "dumped" Eleventh Hour after the pilot. Though Rufus Sewell is oddly hot. Anyhoo, I'm on summer tv mode, which will undoubtedly heat up with Mad Men's return. Can't wait!

Less than a week and counting! 24 slams back onto our tv screens this weekend. Woo! Less than two weeks for the return of both Lost and Burn Notice. Yay! And did I mention Damages roared back to life this week? Seems like I'm going to be even more busy this winter than I was in the fall. Let's see, there's the aforementioned returns of 24, Damages, Lost and Burn Notice, plus the premieres of Idol, Lie to Me and Dollhouse. House, Sarah Connor, Heroes, Life on Mars and The Mentalist are continuing their seasons. I also have to watch the final episodes of Pushing Daisies (Sob!) and Eli Stone (Sob!, again). Prison Break will be wrapping up its season (and possibly the show itself) this spring, which is when Rescue Me will return. New shows Castle and The Unusuals will also be premiering in the spring. So yeah, those thoughts of having a peaceful winter season have been dashed. Mere dreams they were. So much tv, so little time!

If it ain't broke, don't fix it... When I first heard of the re-design, I thought, uh, well I won't go into that. Let's just say I wasn't doing cartwheels. Well, this just sucks! As far as how the site looks, it's fine, but...

I can't reject submissions in my queue. I either have to approve everything or just leave the unwanted items in my queue. I guess I could approve, then go to the episode where they're posted and delete them, but that takes time and gives people points for unworthy submissions. Sample of an actual submission still sitting in my queue for trivia for a certain episode: "Best episode." Seriously, that's all that was submitted.

I can no longer pin threads, which is a pain considering the forum posters like me to post a pinned thread every week for the most recently aired episode.

I can't send messages. Case in point: a poster pm'd me, requesting that I pin this week's official discussion thread, and I can't even write to her to tell her that I'm trying. It makes me look like I'm totally blowing her off. Which leads me to...

I can't post in the forums!

I can submit, finally. After attempting to post my recap for this week's show many times during the week, I got it in tonight, however...

I received no points for it or any other submission I've posted. I'm not concerned about points, I wasn't trying to become editor and even if I was, I'm over 2,000 points ahead of the next highest contributor. But, it is nice to get points, especially for something that takes a lot of time.

Last, but not least, every time I submit I get the message that says my submission will be published as soon as it is moderated. That is so weird. I haven't seen that message since I was made a trusted contributor many many moons ago. And now I'm editor. As soon as I go back to the episode page, though, my info is posted.

I hope this is just a glitch and not permanent. I could live with the no points thing or the weird submission message, but no pm'ing, forums, pinning threads or rejecting submissions? I can't be a very efficient editor without those things.

maxxie_m must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could maxxie_m possibly have for not rating a single film?
