First of all, I salute the optimists on this site. That is, those of you that always seem to see the bright side of life and feel that things will improve if everyone has the right attitude and a patient resolve.
To be clear, I am currently not an optimist.
That being said, does anyone really think that things on this site will get better? Nothing has ever gotten better on this site. It just gets worse and worse. There is a true and honest trend that if we all stopped and took a look at things we will all realize that this site is slowly but surely spiralling downwards.
The levels have never been fixed. Despite the promises, and our waiting patiently, the level problems have never been fixed. In fact the problems seem to get worse and worse. Presently, levels do not even attempt to run. There is absolutely no level increase. As well, any promise by tv.com staff to fix the problem (or to unveil a new level system) should be met by a large degree of skepticism in my opinion. Nothing they have done recently has worked, and history tells us that there is no hope of it ever working.
Okay enough of a rant. Where's the solution? From my point of view, the current tv.com staff has proven themselves to be lacking. The promises of "fixes" which lead to "no fix". The lack of communications, especially around the level problems. And the rollout of new features which have glaring problems, which tells us that these features have not been tested at all.
If I was in charge of tv.com, heads would surely roll. New staff would be hired. I am not pointing any fingers because I do not know the staff well enough, but someone is lacking and they should be sent packing.

I thought the levels not moving was the worst that could happen. I can't even make submissions anymore with this new system. You can't make paragraph skips in recaps, the cast system should just be trashed and replaced with the old one, and whatever submissions I do make don't even show up, except in that automated PM.
TV.com is on the verge of collapse.

I saw a thread on the Technical Support Board, today, titled something like "How Do I End My Account?" At this point, I wonder how many of us "patient" users are secretly wanting to follow suit.

I'm trying to be patient but I miss the Trusted User function, it was nice when it worked. And I've made a few submissions that were approved but then didn't show up. Come on, if the editor approves it, it should show up! People aren't asking a lot here.

Angelwomyn: Hello! If your subs as trusted user are not showing up in the guide, the the subs are likely lost in the system. For example, if you are subbing to the KOTH guide, I (editor) am not seeing them in my queue. Cheers!

I don't even bother to clear out my queue anymore. Almost everything I approve vanishes into thin air. How much more do we have to endure?

The level system doesn't even matter if we can't contribute correctly. Users must just be giving up because they can't submit correctly. Nothing goes through. And if they did get lucky, I couldn't do anything for them if I couldn't edit my queue.
I can't even make a basic submission anymore. I'm sure glad none of my shows are still airing, because I'd be unable to update them!

I've never been able to pinpoint whether staff are all incompetent, or if they're forced by higher-ups sitting in a boardroom (and who've never once used the site or looked at the forums) to do what they think we want. Still, some bugs should have been fixed—like cla$$ and $style nonsense—which according to people who read my blog is limited purely to CNET, but they'd have us believe this js exploit or whatever is this worldwide bug. This latest crew form is just insulting, as there's zero way they could not have known it wasn't ready, thoguh for all I know the developers did know, but their bosses said, "we don't care, roll it out July 2nd anyway."

All I know is that I don't work for tv.com any more. There is no benefit to being here. It use to be that we could make the guides better and get level increases for our trouble. Now, the level increases don't happen and the editor does not work. Jekyll, I noticed that you sent some updates to a guide I edit. I responded by retiring from the guide. (I don't work for tv.com anymore, they can process their own submissions)
