Sorry I havent been here for a week or so I have had a really bad time at the moment. I just lost my 13 year old cat Clyde. He had been sick for a little while and the vet diagnosed him with asthma. He was on cortisone ect but gradually he got worse. The vet decided that he needed to have an endoscopy and sum x rays to have a look at his chest and throat. I had to leave him at the vet on wednesday morning knowing that I probably wouldnt get him back. At his age they were worried that even the slight anesthetic would kill him.

The vet rang me at 3.15 that afternoon to say that they had done the endoscopy and that he had a huge tumour covering his vocal cords and that they didnt think it would be a good idea to wake him up because he would be too distressed and his breathing would become even worse. They thought it would be better just to let him go and decided we should have him put to sleep. I didnt get to be with him.

I went to see him after I had finished work, he looked so peaceful, I still find it hard to believe that he has gone. We have decided to get him cremated, I didnt want to think what the vet would do with him if I didnt take him. I had decided on the cremation a long time ago, that way he is still with us and it is a kind of closure.

Im going to try and add a photo of him onto this blog, Im not sure if it will work. This is my baby boy Clyde, I have had him since I was 14 and he has lived with me and my boyfriend since we bought our house together. The house now feels complelty empty. I loved him so much and I dont know what I am going to do without him.

AHh, I'm sorry. I know how hard it is to put an animal down. I had to do it with one of our dogs. We also had her cremated. I think it's becoming more popular now. I have the ashes in my room. =)

What a precious kitty. I'm sorry for your loss. I have two of my own, and I know some day I'll have to part with them. I can't even imagine it.
