I can't afford all the games I want, but I want them so badly. I'm surprised at the score Left 4 Dead 2 got as I was not too excited about the demo, and Assassin's Creed 2 got a 9.0 as well. I haven't even beat the original Assassin's Creed, which I may never do because I don't like the gameplay that much.
There are still games from this year and last year that I want to buy. And 2010 is just around the corner with more upcoming game releases that I want. No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle, Final Fantasy XIII, Bioshock 2, just to name a few games that I'm going to want. I must have Final Fantasy XIII. That's a day one purchase for me. It's one of the many reasons I'm in this generation of gaming now.
New Super Mario Bros. Wii was just released. I was going to buy it on Sunday, but I held back. I'm trying to save up every nickle and dime for a new PC since my laptop crapped out on me a couple of months ago. I've been going nuts without my own personal computer, and I'm growing tired of using my parents'.
Here's a list of games I do want:
- Dragon Age: Origins
- New Super Mario Bros. Wii
- Ratchet and Clank: Crack In Time
- Metroid Prime Trilogy
- Killzone 2
- Resident Evil 5
- Punchout!
- Castlevania: Order of Ecclesia
- Mario and Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story
- Mass Effect 2
- No More Heroes: Desperate Struggle
- The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
- Batman: Arkham Asylum
- Final Fantasy XIII
- Bioshock 2
- Persona
How am I going to be able to afford all these games? Well, I plan on getting a 2nd job in December. There's a lot of positions opened up, and I'm bound to get one of them. With more work that means less time for gaming and goofing around. Oh, well, I need the money.
I didn't do much gaming last week so this update is going to be brief.
Level grinding, level grinding, and more level grinding. That's basically all I did. There was a typhoon that took away about three days that would've given me the chance to level grind so more. So, I pretty much got pushed three days foward towards the full moon which isn't good since it means I have less time to level now. After reading a strategy guide it seems this boss is going to be one of the toughest ones yet. This is what makes this game kind of hard: You have a certain amount of time to level before going up against bosses, plus you can't level grind constantly because you will get tired causing to easily lose to regular monsters.
I completed a mission. I had to fight this asari named Matriach Benezia. She was tough. It took me about five or six tries to beat her and her minions.
***SPOILER***
It was a fun battle even though it took a couple of tries. Now, I think I have one mission left and I'm through with this game. I'm enjoying this game a bit more than the week before the last gaming update. I'm still unsure if I want Mass Effect 2.
Demo Impressions
Batman Arkham Asylum- I want this game. After playing the demo I've come to this conclusion. I'm really late, I know. But, I only played the demo at Gamestop, and I wasn't impresssed the first time playing. The combat is still a bit dull, but with the added stealth and cool gadgets you can use make this game a must buy for me. I may wait a bit longer to see if it'll go down in price. I hear it's short too. So, that may be another determining factor in waiting or not.
Left 4 Dead 2- I only played the single player part of the demo. I should try to be more sociable and get some gaming to friends to play with. I don't play online much. Anyways, I wasn't really impressed by the single player campaign. There's three guys helping you out. I don't know if I liked that or not, but I usually like playing solo in shooters. I want to do all the killing! I did like games like Rainbow Six Vegas and Gears of War though. I don't think I'll be picking this game up, however. I didn't buy the first one or even try it out because it looked like a repititve shooter, and it seems that way with this game.
That's it for this update. Game on, gamers!
Another week of gaming has ended. Not as much progress done in the previous Gaming Update, but I managed to get some things accomplished. Here's the update.
Through with the campaign, I decided to take this game online after trying my luck against the AI on Brutal difficulty setting. It didn't go to well offline or online. I was confident that I was going to be able to beat the AI on the toughest setting, but I lost. And I also lost my first match online. I had the guy cornered and I thought I was going to win, but he outsmarted me. I had all of my units guard one of those fan post thingys and left my stage unguarded, and that's how he got me. It was a n00bish mistake I'll admit. I could get better at this game, but I don't really care enough to try to. The online is kind of laggy too.
I didn't play this game too much last week. I did manage to beat one of the bosses. It was pretty tough though. It took me two tries, and on the second try about half my team was unconscious. I had to resort to using some of my most valuable items like magic mirrors (reflects magic attacks) and balms of life (restores unconscious members full health). I wasn't going to take a shot at him until my party got a little stronger, but it's taking so long so in order to fight stronger monsters I had to beat a boss. Unfortunately the monsters or shadows didn't get much stronger. So, it's back to level grinding...slowly. The full moon is still about 20 days away. I probably won't be able to advance onto stronger monsters until I defeat the full moon boss. The level grinding is getting tedious so I'm hoping to finish this game soon.
I put about four hours into this game last week. I did manage to get pretty far. I'm about 16 hours in, so I'm half way through the game.
***SPOILER***
I'm stuck in this area now where I have to solve a puzzle. The puzzles are lame in this game, and they seem out of place. I've gone back to playing this game to see if I'd want to play Mass Effect 2. So far I'm not liking the game as much as I use to. Looks like I might skip Mass Effect 2.
That's it for the gaming update. Thanks for reading, and commenting!
