As many of you know I'm a big fan of Doom and the music in the game is awesome, so for this blog I'd like to share my top ten favorite songs from both Doom and Doom 2. So without further ado here's my listen of my top ten favorite Doom songs:
#10 - Doom 2 - Intermission Music
I don't know what it is about this song, but it gets me in the mood to take on the next level of Doom 2 since a lot of the levels in Doom 2 are pretty big compared to the original Doom maps. I only wish they would have used this in the game instead of at the intermission screen.
#9 - Doom 2 - The Healer Stalks
One of the more uplifting songs in Doom 2. This is one of my favorites since the beat reminds me of those old 80s films and I think it would have fit within a movie as well, but its in Doom 2. One of my favorite non-heavy tracks in Doom 2.
This song gets you in the mood as you're about to face the boss responsible for bring hell to Mars and there's nothing like hearing this song as it gets you pumped to face The Spider Mastermind. I think the track is quite apparent for when you're facing off against that ugly demon.
#7 - Doom - I Sawed The Demons
I like this track because after hearing a very depressing song in E1M8 and you know that you're dead. This song kicks in and you completely forget about what happened to you and now you want to kick some more demon behind. For some reason this song reminds me a lot of AC DC.
Another one of the more uplifting songs in Doom. When you first hear this song you think that maybe things will eventually get better, but unfortunately you still have a long ways to go in the game. I love this song because there's something about the beat I like.
#5 - Doom - Deep Into The Code
Definitely one of my favorite tracks from Doom. This one is based on Slayer's Behind The Crooked Cross, but that doesn't matter since it has its own unique beat once it gets going and sometimes I've just left the game idling so I can listen to this track. Its pretty good and any fan of Doom should have this song in their list as well.
#4 - Doom 2 - Bye Bye American Pie
Don't let the title of the song fool you, this is one of the best songs in Doom 2 and it fits within one of the best maps in Doom 2 as well, Barrels O' Fun. The map starts you out with as you guessed it barrels and barrels surrounding you and one stray bullet can mean certain death for you. So you better watch it when you're going through the level.
#3 - Doom - Kitchen Ace and Taking Names
Another of my favorite tracks from Doom. This song plays during E1M4 and when I first heard it I thought it was a terrible song, but it started to grow on me and now its one of my favorite Doom songs as even though its a MIDI track. It still rocks! Just like with Between Levels there's something about the beat I enjoy.
#2 - Doom 2 - Running From Evil
The first song you hear in Doom 2. This song almost rivals my number one song, but it gets beat out because the first part of the song is a little boring, but once it gets more into that's where it gets good and of course like with most Doom songs it gets you in the mood to go kick some demon behind! Its still an amazing song, but its beaten by perhaps the most well known Doom song...
There's no beating At Doom's Gate. Its the best song that was made for Doom and its also my favorite. There's nothing I don't hate about this song. From the beginning of the song to the end its quite epic and its probably the most well known video game song in existence.
I know the songs may sound outdated since they were made using MIDI, but I don't care these are some of the best songs I've heard in video gaming from the earlier years and I'd like to thank Bobby Prince for making such awesome songs for a great series.

Comments
''Kitchen Ace and taking names'' is probably my favourite out of list with ''between levels'' and ''deep in the code'' tieing at 2nd.
Also ''Between Levels'' sorta reminds me of the 1960s Batman series theme song
At Dooms gate = Nostalgia overload
