Perhaps not; but the Edmonton Oilers have taken a huge leap in the Stanley Cup Playoffs by defeating the San Jose Sharks 2-0 at Rexall Place Wednesday night. All Formalities aside; GO OILERS!
A lot of people counted the Oilers out when they were faced with the President's Trophy winners, the Detroit Red Wings, in the first round; they proved the world wrong. Again, the Oilers played the role of underdog in round two versus the San Jose Sharks, and when the Sharks took the first two games 2-1 at the HP Povilion, it seemed everything was going according to script, untill the Sharks swam right into polluted wated. Rexall Place. With the crowd behind them, the Oilers prevailed in two straight games to tie the series at two games a piece and before long, they went on to win two more to eliminate the heavily favored Sharks.
Now, it's a new road, and the Oilers have a big test ahead of them in the red hot Mighty Ducks, but Ryan Smyth put it best when he said "...but we're playing good hockey too..." and that has to keep up if the Oilers want a birth in the Stanley Cup finals in what seems like centuries sine their last appearance.
Edmonton, once labeled the City of Champions, has proven true to it's name and it's all thanks to a group of guys sporting the Copper and Blue, who play thier hearts out every night and do whatever it takes to win a hockey game. The Oilers haven't won the Stanley Cup yet, but they've taken huge strides into giving themselves a chance, and they've proven that it's not talent that wins you games, it's heart and grit night after night; the people that want it more, will more often get it than not.
If you're a hockey fan and have been following the NHL playoffs this year, make sure you tune in and watch the Edmonton Oilers who have surprised a few entities with their play of late; you'll never find better hockey, and not to jump the gun or anything, but if the Edmonton Oilers and Buffalo Sabres face-off in the Stanley Cup finals, the world is in for one hell of a series.
Perhaps Disney Land will help make this Cinderella story a reality..

Lol, if you watch the NHL you might've known what I was talking about; they call teams going on "unexpected" runs in the playoffs Cinderella teams, so I used it as a title.
