I recently completed Psychonauts on the PlayStation 2, and having received a new digital camera for Christmas I decided to try and record my triumph over mental cobwebs and inner demons. Psychonauts is a platformer from Double Fine Studios and Tim Schafer, the man who brought us the amazing Grim Fandango. While the gameplay is nothing new or innovative, it manages to be enjoyable by borrowing the best aspects from past successful platforming games such as Ratchet & Clank, Prince of Persia, and even old-school cl@ssics like Rampage. But what really makes Psychonauts such a memorable experience is the writing. The storyline, characters, soundtrack, and voice acting are all spectacular in this game, and together they do an excellent job of making up for some straightforward and sometimes clunky gameplay. This video contains the final boss battle and end game credits, however, the quality is somewhat lackluster since it was recorded on a digital camera. Despite that, I hope to continue "documenting" these game endings as I complete them along with full reviews. Look for more End Game features in the near future, but until then, enjoy the conclusion to Tim Schafer's Psychonauts.

Next End Game: Okami

I am the milk man -- My milk is delicious!

And the sea shall run white, with his rage!

Weird. I just started playing Psychonaughts. I can't believe it's taken me so long. I loved Grim Fandango and Tim Schafer is clearly a deity of some kind - at least, according to Yahtzee. Not very far in yet, but enjoying it immensely.

Haha, loved the General's apology. Aww, what a sweet kiss. You forgot to mention the fantastic soundtrack, one of the best. Really sets it up for a sequel, I really hope Tim Schafer doesn't lose out making one because of funds. Very underselling game . Great video, great quality.

I've wanted to play Psychonauts for some time, but have lacked the time. At least this way I was able to live through the ending without the effort!

That's a lot of credits.

Foolz3h - Ha ha! Boyd was my favorite character in the game. Pretty much every one of his quotes is pure hilarity and the spies in his mind are just as funny.

Phaed - I think you'll enjoy the game even more as it goes along. Each level you play is more enjoyable than the last; and each character you meet is funnier than the previous. It really had me excited to see what the game had in store for me next. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did.

digi - Thanks for pointing that out! I absolutely LOVED the soundtrack in this game and I totally forgot to mention it. It's such an amazing blend of many diverse genres of music, and each song is unique and outstanding in it's own way. Definitely an underrated game, and I can't wait for Schafer's next outing, Brutal Legend.

Boz - Ha ha! Glad I could be of some assistance to you. Indeed there were a lot of credits, but the pictures were pretty cool since they showed the results of Raz's actions in the different character's minds.

Thanks for stopping by guys! I'm glad you enjoyed the video, even though it's almost like watching through beer goggles.

Yeah, but without the gas, hangover, and morning regrets.

Ha ha! Morning regrets. You mean like realizing you spent waaaay too much money at the bar the night before?

Wow that's trippy. It's like if Radiohead made a game while on an acid trip.
