This item was in this morning's Oregonian Newspaper:

A 27-year old man stabbed his ex-girlfriend's fish to death in a fit of rage after she refused to get back together with him.The man appeared in court on charges of aggravated animal abuse, assault, and coercion in connection with the incident.

The entirely unrepentant idiot told the arresting police officer, "If she can't have me, then she can't have the fish."

Anyone want to suggest an appropriate punishment?

Ummm, maybe drop in in a fish tank full of sharks? Nah, that's too mean to do something like that to the fishes.

Stitch: LOL Yeah, a guy that slimey would probably give them indigestion!
LadyInque: Pirhanas might be mean enough to eat this guy without wanting to throw up afterwards.

That's, Really sad . . . May fishy be remembered and Rest In Peace with the Lord. I say let people take their relationship anger off on him. Make him try to replace Maury and deal with Heart Broken people for an episode!!

Well, let's turn this around : who was hurt here? Who was the victim? Obviously, it was the girlfriend, as apparently she had feelings for her fish. But did the fish have feelings? Was it a quick, clean kill? Do fish "relate"? I've never had a little fish-friend so I don't know. I do know that in our culture we eat fish - although we don't eat cats and dogs (and are appalled by cultures which do). So, I say the victim was the woman, not the fish; and, perhaps, she should get to stab something precious to her ex-boyfriend - maybe his snake (ouch!).

She should be happy she's not longer with that nutcase! Holy smokes to take out your anger on a FISH?! He's got to be cuckoo...... I feel bad for the fish, what kind was it?

Torfer: I'm not sure how Maury's guests would feel about that... But this guy obviously needs to learn something about being human.

DCat: LOL ... ahem. 'Nuff said. Oh, and it appears to have been quick for the fish. She fled her own apartment and returned to find the fish impaled on a knife, on the floor.

AprilFox: They didn't say what kind of fish, but it must have been pretty big if it was big enough to stab with a knife.

I'm glad he's not my signicant other. It would be nice to be able to flush him down the toilet.
Posted Jul 31, 2009 4:41 pm PT
Haha ... that would work, too! It would have to be a pretty big toilet, or else he'd have to be chopped into tiny pieces first...

I'd have him prepare and eat his own sushi, till he couldn't hold it down anymore! Then rinse and repeat! Ahhh... the "scales" of justice!
Posted Jul 31, 2009 7:31 pm PT
I like that one, especially if he has to eat the "scales of justice" and the bones, too. LOL

Wow, what a cruel thing to do. I agree with DBizTV, the victim here seems to be the girlfriend. Although, I feel for the poor little fish, the guy's girlfriend will have to deal with not only a broken heart, and an unusually strange breakup, but also the death of her pet. I have no idea what a good punishment would be, but I hope that it's something that really teaches him a lesson.

She should have sense there was something fishy about him before she started dating him. Arf.

RidersAngel: It's true, the girlfriend is the victim. I think the real punishment for this guy is that he is a monster who will never have real happiness in his life.

MovieMark: Meow, friend! (That's "Hello, welcome to the territory" in catspeak.) Definitely 'something fishy', eh?
