Hi Gamespotters.

How have you been? It's been about a month since my last blog...sorry about the delay howeverI have been trying to contribute to your blogs as much as possible....but has anyone noticed?

I've been exploring the wasteland and loving every minute of it and no, I'm not talking about Borderlands which seems to be the popular pick this month. Recently, I won a gift card which enabled me to buy some games off of amazon for free (yipee!) and of the ones I recently picked up, I chose Fallout 3: Game of the Year Edition which comes with 5 downloadable content packages. I realize that I am "late in the game" starting Fallout 3 but I must say this...it is deeeelightful!

If there's something that you should know about my gaming choices is thatI am often motivated by the "value of my gaming dollar"...I love a good deal. This thought process applies to $60 purchases like Fallout 3 or the recently picked up RPG Infinite Undiscovery for the 360 for $9. Needless to say, my RPG card is getting filled up quickly and Dragon Age is coming out soon.

Has anyone tried NFS Shift yet? If not, I highly recommend it. It's the best NFS game I've played since the PS2 days and my favorite racing game this generation. Forza 3 out soon...stay tuned.

Also, those who love a solid FPS with great graphics and pretty decent storyline have to check out Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. Friends, this game is surprisingly good! I love a good western shooter!

Finally,a couple of my gamespot friends have blogged about their issues or praise of downloadable content. My thoughts? When it comes to gaming and movies, I like to own something tangible...not some file on a hard drive because it's worthless if I want to sell it.

I hope your weekends were good...have a great week!

Cheers!

General Luc

I'm with you on owning media. I like to be able to hold it in my hands.

I think a big push for the move to downloads is so there isn't anything for you to sell/trade since the publishers make no money on resells.. the DD would pretty much force you to buy new, no matter what.

I just got Bound in Blood, looking foward to playing it. Forza 3 looks damn near perfect. I might have to pay full price for that one.

If you equate hours played with value, it's hard to beat Fallout. With all the DLC it's a good 70 - 80 hours of content. Great content.

@polsci1503 - I just finished Bound In Blood last week. I'm glad I know someone else who picked up that underrated game.

@ebbderelict - I'm with you.
@ valek1394 - I agree with you but I hope consumers make the traditional purchasing choice.
@polsci1503 - If you want to play some MP matches, let me know.
@johnsteed7 - same to you

Nice pick-up! I want to get Fallout GOTY too (need something longer than the games I've been playing lately), but er I'm not sure if the Asian edition is out yet for the 360. I could get the PC version, but I'm always only on my com for school work.

Anyway, glad to see you enjoying a whole bunch of games. You have a great week too.

Hehe, you're not alone being "late in the game" what Fallout 3 concerns, I created my character and now he's at the outside of the Vault ready to start his adventure but I don't know when I'll have time to continue my adventure in the Wastelands. So many games are being released (Dragon Age : Origins, Forza 3 ....), I'll probably keep Fallout 3 for a calmer period when there aren't that many new games.

I'm with you also on owning media, I like to be able to see and hold it.

Mmm, I should check out Call of Juarez : BiB, I like games with a western setting and there are so few.

Have a nice week, Luc !

I have not played the full version of NFS, just the demo. I would say that based on that, it will not even come close to Forza 3... it just felt "clunky"

Call of Juarez seems very interesting, i've been wanting to pick it up. I did try the new NFS but i just didn't not like it, i like racing in a open world not trapped in by walls. I am ready for a new game for sure.
