Hi Folks.

I hope you've all been doing well. "It's the most wonderful time of the year!". It's hard to remember a time when gaming was this good.

I've been noticing that my PS3 has rapidly taken over my gaming recently. More and more there are reasons whymy ps3 has been more active than my 360. Let me "bulletpoint" these for you.

  • God of War Collection: Kratos is back and in high definition. Having played and thoroughly enjoyed the original PS2 God of War, I was looking forward to this release also because I never tried the sequel. A nice surprise was a key to download the demo of God of War III.

  • Killzone 2: While most of everyone else is getting their MP fix with Modern Warfare 2...I can't help but to keep playing KZ2. It is still my favorite FPS after Battlefield Bad Company.

  • Tekken 6: The fighting game genre has had a resurgence this generation but none of them have as much content as in Tekken 6. The number of fighters and unlockables is incredible! This, by the way, was my first time playing a Tekken fighting game.

  • BF Bad Company 2 BETA: In one word....UNBELIEVABLE! Why do I prefer BF over COD? Vehicles and destructible environments...enough said. And the sound quality & design is the best!

Finally, with all the "love" I've been giving my PS3, I bought another mutilplatform title on my PS3 (other thanTekken 6).I'm about three hours into Assassin's Creed 2 and it's everything I wanted it to be. Great graphics, improved controls but mostly, the storyline is much more engaging. Thumbs up!

I'll blog my detailed impressions soon.

Have a great week and for my friends in the "US of A", happy shopping on Black Friday and Happy Thanksgiving weekend!

Cheers!

Hi folks.

First, let me put it out there... this blog is not to annoy and offend anyone.

Arguably, the most anticipated game in 2009 is coming out today and I received an update from a buddy that has already picked it up... my worst supsicions were confirmed...COD Modern Warfare 2's single player campaign can be finished in just over 4 hours!

I realize most of everyone who picks COD MW2 is looking forward to the multiplayer aspect of the game and, some will argue about the awesome production values of the series...however, does anyone else have any issues putting down $50, $60, possibly $70 (depending on where you live) for a game that only has a four hour long campaign? Multiplayer, will not last forever...in about a year, there will be another COD game which will replace this one.

My buddy johnsteed was blogging about disturbing trends in the industry and this is definitely one of them. Why offer a single player experience at all, if it's going to be slightly longer than watching a Godfather movie?

That being said, Infinity Ward and Activision will be laughing all the way to the bank this holiday season. Which means, we will see another COD surface within a 12 to 18 month period...with the same bare-bones "michael bay" experience for the single player campaign. 4 hours of a mindless, shallow but flashy popcorn flick.

Thoughts?

hi guys.

So, just how many sequels is too much? Apparently, for horror movies, there is no limit. On Halloween, my brother dragged me to see SAW VI...appropriate for the day, right? To put things in perspective, I haven't seen any of the SAW sequels...only the original. Oddly enough, I didn't feel I missed anything from SAW II to SAW V but I was surprisingly entertained.

Other than that, I haven't had much of a chance to play games this week...so busy at work, but I won't complain.

In the meantime, I was able to sneak in a web order for the GTA IV expansions - episodes from Liberty City. Shipment to arrive this week... I'm really looking forward to it. This along with Fallout 3 GOTY edition and Forza 3 should be enough to keep me busy for the months to come.

I would pick up Dragon Age but I've got so much to play right now that it simply doesn't make sense to add another title to my "backlogged" library of games. In addition to the ones already mentionned in this blog, I still have Dead Space, Prince of Persia, Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood, NFS Shift, Fable 2, Operation Flashpoint and Sacred 2: Fallen Angel to play. Not to mention more of ODST.

Anyone else have this problem?

Looking forward to playing this weekend and catching up with you guys.

Cheers,

General Luc

Some people just don't have opinions. Like luc11044.
luc11044 must really love MovieTome and agree with every review we've ever written! What other reason could luc11044 possibly have for not rating a single film?
