I actually love Christmas and the months building up to it ... buying presents for people ... decorating the Christmas Tree ... eating lots of naughty food and watching Christmas specials of Dr Who ...

Especially the cute pics of kittens with santa hats on.

And at my work we even have a dog who lives here during work hours and he usually ends up with some sort of Christmas decoration on him, he looks very cute wearing Christmas accessories.

It's been a very long time since I posted a blog, and I'm sorry I haven't been around here much lately. I guess I've just been happy finding other things to do. Like Christmas shopping.

I hope you all have a happy Christmas and someone gives you a hug and tells you they care. Here's a virtual hug from me, and peck on the cheek.

By that I mean ... moving to Australia.

It's becoming more and more common ... Just a few days ago a work mate of mine moved to Sydney. Cooler work place and better money ... But I miss her.

Then 6 months ago my best friend moved to Melbourne ... And she's really bad at keeping in touch so I haven't even heard from her. How hard is it to reply to an email?

And a year ago my brother and step sister moved to Brisbane. And I really miss my brother. But he is coming back for Christmas which is awesome so we'll get to catch up then and spend some time together.

So today I find myself for the first time ever ... tempted by the thought of also, moving to Australia. The only thing holding me back is family here who I'd miss... but I think if I got a really good job offer I'd be convinced to move. I'd never go without my partner of course but I think he'd probably get a better job in Ausie too.

Both of us could be earning a lot more than we are in our current jobs. But I bet that's the case for a lot of people. It's having the courage to take that step, make that change that could get you where you want to be. And as always, you have to take risks. And I think that's what I need to do. Take a risk.

Four sleeps until my birthday ... and to say I'm not looking forward to it is an understatement.

The reason I'm dreading my birthday isn't because I'm getting older, I don't mind that. Its because the simple wishes I have, can't come true. The little things I really want this year, I can't have.

There's one thing in particular that means more to me than anything else ... Time with my partner. All I asked for was 1 day with him. Even if it wasn't actually on my birthday. And I couldn't get it.

Some of you are probably saying, big deal, but this means the world to me. I just want to spend 1 day ... with the man I love.

We haven't had a day together in 3 weeks. And its not because we're in different countries or anything ... its because of his job. And the people who make him do whatever they need.

I feel like I playing a game called 'second best' ... And I'm losing. And losing sucks. Especially on your birthday.
