I've been so busy lately. I've had exams, I've been catching up on so much work from last semester and I'm finally on Easter break so I've decided to blog.

Firstly, TV:

LOST:
I've watched Namaste, He's Our You, Whatever Happened Happened and Dead Is Dead and I really love the direction the show is heading in. While the first two of these episodes were the slowest of the season so far, the next two were awesome especially the Ben centric Dead Is Dead. Any episode with Smokey does well in my book as does any episode that showcases Michael Emerson's acting talent and adds more to the Locke-Ben relationship. I can't wait for the final episodes of the season!

DOLLHOUSE:
It started with a bang and developed into a bit of a mess, but the last few episodes have been great. Now that we are starting to feel for the Dolls, despite the fact that they have no personality, the show has become a lot more interesting. The story is still as intriguing as ever, and it looks like Joss Whedon has added another awesome show to his resume.

PILOTS:
- Parks and Recreation: 8/10
- Party Down: 6/10
- Harper's Island: 2/10

In non-TV related news, I'm going for my driver's permit next week and in hopes that I can drive before I start uni next year. I'm also going to America at the end of the year for a month which will be awesome, because I haven't been back since I lived there when I was younger.

I've also decided to compile a list of my favourite shows. I'll add to it every blog (which will hopefully be more regular in the future)

FAVOURITE SHOW COUNTDOWN:

#20: The Comeback
This short lived series was an awkward comedy staring the brilliant Lisa Kudrow. Though it was sometimes painful watching Valerie Cherish attempt to make a 'comeback' in Hollywood, it was always funny and often provided a very real and gritty look into Hollywood today.

#19: Dead Like Me
A show about death, which was really more about life. With a witty cast and some great storylines, this show was great for the two seasons that it aired. This show can be both funny and at times inspiring and moving, as the main character George Lass deals with death and dwells on the past in order to move on.

The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham:

How someone ended up in the coffin, and under the alias of 'Jeremy Bentham' has been a mystery since the end of Season 3, and this episode finally gave us the answers and revealed who exactly was behind Locke's death.

It was great to see the Oceanic Six off the island, each interacting with Locke after a couple of years having no contact with the island, and it was even better to see all the mythologically relevant characters we got further information about - Charles Widmore, Matthew Abbadon, Walt! Though some of their appearances were very brief and some even brought to an end, this episode had the best appearance of Abbadon and Widmore to date.

The real question that arose from this episode and the aftermath of Locke's death and even more importantly, his resurrection - who is the big bad of the show? Following Ben's childish actions at the end, killing Locke (in a similar fashion to the way he killed Locke at the mass grave, and his immature yet chilling remarks to Juliet - "You're mine") I am fairly certain that Ben is really the manipulative and evil force behind the war that is coming, though I'm not convinced that Widmore is completely good either. I'm sure questions about the motives of Charles Widmore and Ben will continue throughout the season, and possibly Season 6, as their conflict comes to an end.

Bringing back Helen, without bringing her back, was a really great callback to Locke's flashbacks in Season 2 and further reinforcement of Locke's destiny to be on the island.

Ilana and Caesar look set to be either important secondary roles or redshirts in a future conflict, and their discovery of the Hydra Station was really interesting. Again, it's great to see the second island again as well as seeing"runway" that Juliet hinted at in the S3 finale being of use to the Aijira Flight survivors.

All in all, a great way to fill in the gaps between John's resurrection and the hardships he faced off the island. Can't wait to see more of the dynamic between John and Ben.

9.3/10

LaFleur:

The first Sawyer-centric episode since early Season 3, and a reminder of Sawyer's leadership skills as he, Juliet, Miles, Daniel and Jin manage to argue, con and eventually incorporate themselves into the Dharma Initiative.

This episode focused very much on the development of the characters.
- Sawyer took control and helped his friends by conning the Dharma Initiative and working his way among their ranks. It was great to see Sawyer protect his friends and ensure their safety, and even better to see his relationship with Juliet develop. It's interesting to note that after three years, Sawyer has known Juliet, Jin, Miles and co for 2 and half years more than the other survivors before they left. It will be interesting to see how strong those bonds have become when Kate, Jack and Hurley are thrown back into the mix.

- Juliet also played a prominent role, helping a Dharma Initiative member give birth to a baby boy (Any guesses who he'll end up being?) long before the island's properties killed women trying to give birth within their trimester. Her scenes with Sawyer were really great, and the acting in the dock scene was intense. It was really nice to watch "just two weeks" turn into three years.

- Daniel's character also took a surprisingly dark turn in this episode. Him watching Charlotte as a child, as she waved while following her mother's lead was a really emotional scene. It'll be interesting to watch him try to mess with the "whatever happened, happened" theory. I'm guessing, since we didn't see him three years later, he's working at the Orchid station as he was in the premiere? It all makes sense now.

A really solid episode which had a really great feel to it. I love the direction this show is taking, and in my opinion a whole episode in the Dharma Initiative timeline is almost perfect.

9.8/10

SEASON FIVE:
This Place Is Death 10/10
LaFleur - 9.8/10

Also, this week apparently I'm in the 'Blogs We Love' section. That's really surprising considering my new account has only been around for a little more than a month, but I'm really happy about it. I might have to blog a little more now...

QUESTION OF THE BLOG:
What are your top 5-10 favourite shows of all time? (I'm going to write a top SOMETHING list in a future blog I've decided)

Thanks for stopping by, namaste and good luck.

This week I've been really slow watching my regular shows (LOST, Heroes, Skins, Dollhouse) but I've finally seen them all and it was quite an impressive week of television. In between catching up on school work and this week's aired episodes, I've been watching Veronica Mars (Season One) which I recently picked up on DVD. I have only seen the odd episode every so often - and that was years ago, so it has been great to watch the season in its entirety.

LOST
316

Back to basics! I see many flashbacks and character moments ahead. The Oceanic Six have returned to the island (though are Sun, Sayid, Ben, etc in a completely different time period?). This question raised many questions, which really got me thinking more about Lost than ever. While I love the answers and I want the show to conclude, Lost is still very much about mystery - so I can't wait to find out how the Oceanic Six all ended up on the same plane under those mysterious circumstances.

A very rewarding episode. I'm finding myself liking Jack again after a few years of really disliking him as he is becoming a man of faith. Though I've loved the last few episodes, I'm really looking forward to seeing some more flashbacks and seeing all of the cast together again - at last.

SEASON FIVE:
This Place Is Death 10/10
316 - 9.5/10
The Little Prince 9.4/10
The Lie 9.3/10
Because You Left 9.2/10
Jughead 9.2/10

VERONICA MARS

I forgot just how awesome this show was. Kristen Bell plays the role of Veronica Mars perfectly, and she must be the coolest character on television without a doubt. I miss watching this show when I was 13-14 (though Australian TV never really gave it a stable timeslot), and it used to always be compared to The OC. I must say, this show is 100 times better than The OC. Kristen Bell makes this show, and Veronica's relationship with her father and Logan really stand out. I can't wait to finish the first season (I'm nearly there)...

QUESTION OF THE BLOG:
Last purchased DVD? For me it was Veronica Mars (Season One) and Dexter (Season Two)

Peace.
