If there was ever a night for TV viewing, it's Wednesdays. And it's on ABC. "Lost" is the first-up-and it's better than ever. The writers know exactly what's happening, and they're taking the audience on a crazy, albeit wonderful journey. The past four hours (though I won't spill much, in case some of you aren't caught up just yet) have been nothing but mythology, and loads of explanations. (Remember that severed arm from Season 1? Well, we have an answer as to whom it belongs to!) Lots of time-travelling for our island folk, and although I was originally confused at some of the time jumps, it makes sense now. And the theories are just getting insane out there on the Internet! Some make complete sense, though. And I love Fionnula Flanagan's character; she's awesome. The recent death of a person on the island wasn't a big shock to me, but at the same time I was just beginning to truly like the character before-WHAM!-gone already. Don't get me started on Locke's excellent journey; "The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham" proved to be one of this season's best episodes (and that's saying something.) "LaFleur" was equally excellent...just wow. Anyway, things seem to be looking up for "Lost". (My only quibble-not enough character development this season!) And with a season average of about 13 million viewers, it appears as if I'm not the only one who loves getting "Lost" every week. (Couldn't resist the pun.)

Next up is "Life on Mars"! Every episode (for the most part) is improving, and we are becoming more invested in the characters and the relationships between them. But:

ABC F****** CANCELED THE SHOW! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS??? WHAT DID I DO? Some of you are thinking: 'What a selfish jerk.' I probably am. But I've lost 3 shows within the same season ON THE SAME network this past year. "Pushing Daisies" and "Eli Stone" were hard enough...but to discover the greatness of "Mars" and get sucked into it before...the ball gets dropped? COME ON, ABC! YOU'RE FREAKING WORSE THAN NBC NOW! I know the ratings weren't that hot for "Mars," but you could've given it a chance (same goes for "Daisies" and "Eli," too). Besides you have like, what, 4 shows that do well? "Dancing with the Stars," "Grey's Anatomy," "Desperate Housewives," hell, I'll even throw "The Bachelor" in there, especially with the recent controversy boiling and exploding over on that show. (By the way, I will not discuss it. That would be a waste of space.) You can at least give some slack. But, no. "Reality" shows are cheap and easy to produce. I understand that it is tough times on everybody right now. But the question is: should money trouble cause originality and innovation to be sacrificed? I'll leave you with that thought.

The only good (and rightful) thing that ABC is doing is allowing the last few episodes of "Mars" to air-but don't hold your breath. And, the cancellation comes in time to let the writers wrap up the storylines for the series-including (hopefully) why Sam got stuck in '73, if he ever gets home, and if he and Annie ever get together (fingers crossed on that one!).

ALL IN ALL ABC: YOU. SUCK.
