It Feels Good To Be Back Baby!

Hey everyone, this is Loopy

I'm back!

My computer is finally online and I can now post topics, make blogs, reviews and all that other stuff. Anyway, I'll be returning to my officer and leader posts shortly. As for the unions I've been inactive in, I apoligize, I'll try to make up for it. I'll be returning as leader at DreamON (if Despa1r is OK about it) and I'll also see if I can get my leader role at Gamers EXP again (which once again, I'll check with Zeromus if its OK with).

Cheating, Or Does Mario Kart Wii Just Stink?

*WARNING: ANGRY WHINE FEST AHEAD*

So here I was, I had played atleast ten games of Mario Kart Wii online and I was actually doing quite well. A few interesting competitors entered the following game I was about to play. And to my great shock I noticed one of the most bizzare sights ever on Mario Kart.

Not only shortly after the race began was someone hit by a flying blue shell, which normally never happens till later on in the race (2nd or 3rd lap generally) but he was struck by two at the same time. It made me even more curious because it happened two or three more times later on in the race with the same effects. And more coincidently, the two players who were new finished in the podium positions at the end of the race. Only for it to happen again on the following race. Two blue shells at one time, occuring atleast three times during the race. And once again, the lovely pair of newcomers took winning positions.

Now I know I'm a poor loser when it comes to games but its stuff like that which really annoys me about Mario Kart or perhaps even makes me suspicious of Nintendo's own efforts to atleast keep watch of it's games online. I can take losing and I can take losing badly, but when its unfair like that it really ticks me off. I lost all the points I had earned prior during those two match and basically everyone left the game not long after that.

Blade II

Blade 2 simply put is more of what made the first so famous and less so what gave the original its character.

It relishes on the fact that it is high on the violence and action scale which contributes largely to the filmâ€™s story itself. If I had to comment how I thought of these action scenes, they are generally good but not as ingeniously set up as in the original film, plus they lack a real build up or subtle charm you would come to expect. From the very intro you will be introduced to some of the best action scenes in the movie. However, from there onwards, it gets repetitive and boring, likely because of the issues I explained earlier.

As far as acting is concerned, both Wesley Snipes and Kris Kristofferson return as Blade and Whistler. The film also features Ron Perlman, who is famous for playing Hellboy and Norman Reedus, who you might remember from the under-rated film Gossip. This area is also impressively executed in Blade 2, yet no real recognisable stars. Oh well.

The score of the film itself is memorable at best. Many of the tracks are listenable dance music and quite likeable too I might add, if you are in to that sort of thing. The camera shots in Blade 2 are also well executed and the script is generally good, but there are a few moments when you will think it is a little generic and odd.

As far as letdowns are concerned, Blade 2 only falters in its story and special effects. The story is a failure because it was too ambitious to attempt in a film and required more time to be developed on properly in my opinion. As for the effects, the CGI is way off and that is a shame, because the effects would have been one of the highlights of the film if it was concentrated on a little more.

Overall, the film is O.K. A rental at best, but nothing that should be bought at R.R.P. It can be a barrel of laughs, but with the film riding on the legacy of the original; it is hard not to be left wanting more as the credits roll.
