Hi, Saturday night and I am packing! My few days back in France are nearly up! Sadly the weather has been hopeless, but I have had a very productive few days... I have tiled the lobby floor - which was a total nightmare due to an uneven floor to start with and poor quality tiles, but still, tis done!

And more fun, from my point of view, I have done loads of sewing, as in dressmaking - well actually I have made 5 pairs of trousers, a pair of shorts and four skirts!! Impressed? Me too! I don't normally get the time or the interest, but the last couple of days just seemed to asked to be filled with fabric! And now I am inspired, hopefully it will carry on through the winter!

Nothing much else to report.. when I came back over here via Portsmouth I was told I wasn't allowed to take any dairy products to France (no great hardship) but when they said including chocolate, well I claimed not to have any, and luckily they didn't check I would have just had to eat the whole bag of Minstrels in front of them! Still was quite shocking that restrictions were in place - even if they weren't enforcing them very strictly! Sad state of affairs (we have had a few instances of foot & mouth in cattle, that is why there is the ban, for any of you that didn't understand why! )

Anyway, toodlepip from me, til I am back in Blighty and then only for a day or so before my next big adventure, travelling to LA via NY on Tuesday! xx

Welcome home!
I hope you have an amazing time in LA - take lots of photos to share!
And I'm eurostaring it to Paris on Monday... hope I get my peanut butter through (Yes, this trip is maximum budget to the extent where I plan to eat peanut butter and whatever's handy every day for lunch )

Wow!! I'm impressed when people can correctly sew buttons, I'm completely in awe when they can fully assemble an article of clothing.

I'm totally jealous of you right now. I hope that you are taking lots of pics of your travels. I can't wait to see them.

Welcome back Linsey! Despite the weather, sounds like you had a brilliant time, can't wait to see those photos! And enjoy LA, are you going to meet up with Doc?

And I'm slightly confused, are you stopping in NY for a couple of hours or are you staying for a couple of days? Either way sounds lovely!

You sew?! Amazing! My grandma sewed all my clothes growing up and I thought that was so cool. I wish I could do it for my kids but I have no clue. I tired to make a Nemo blanet for Travis and after having it sit for over 6 months, I gave it to a professional. She had it done in 2 days! (hangs my head in shame) Have fun on your trip to LA!

5 pair of trousers !? It took me many weeks to make a skirt in school a few years ago!
Welcome back !

Toodlepip? Not making fun - I just don't know what it means. I DO think it's a cool word, though.

Enjoy your trip, and please say hello to any mutual friends of ours you may bump into. :-)

Wow, I'm beyond impress! I can sew (on a button that will usually fall off again). Have fun in LA, wave to me when you fly over Chicago.

Thanks folks, I didn't think it was that big a deal! My Mum did a fashion course when she left school, and my Granny had embroidery displayed in Westminster Abbey, so a few clothes are rather small beer around here!
Toodlepip is a silly (army, I think) expression that they use in war films to say good-bye!
And I will bid our mutual friend hello with pleasure!
Ok, well I am on the last few hours of list clearing here, so better go!
