Heres a little poem I wrote, its a bit of a tongue in cheek look at the number of actors who move between The Bill and Eastenders. Hope you enjoy... If you like The Bill I belong to a rather good fansite have a look: http://www.thebillfansite.co.uk/index.php?referredby=80
The Bill-Enders
I like to watch Eastenders
It's a bit like watching The Bill,
I think that it's cos many characters
Have arrived straight from Sun Hill.
The last time we saw Phil Hunter
He left Sam Nixon on set,
A couple of weeks later
He turned up in the Eastenders laundrette.
Eddie Santini made the journey
Across to East19,
So did Eva Sharpe, Jim Carver
Even Burnside reappeared on screen.
The traffic wasn't all one way
And Canley saw mass migration,
Chandler, Nicki and Stevie Moss
Arrived at Sun Hill station.
I wonder if we have a show
Where two programmes merge as one,
That would be quite an episode
The writers would have such fun.
Dot Cotton, the new Inspector
Sends the relief to raid the pub,
When they have all finished
They go to Ian's café for grub.
Wellard would be the station dog
Beth Green arrests her dad,
The Mitchell brothers must appear
As they are always bad.
Bianca's locked up in the cell
Her fella's in C.I.D.
She calls him as only she knows how
And the station rocks to "RICKAAAAAAY!"
Of course there have been other soaps
Where we have spied some swaps,
Many from Corrie and Brookside
Have magically turned into cops.
The move from soap to The Bill
Makes some fans a little mad,
But I think when we get the likes of Gina Gold
The swap really can't be that bad!
This year will be the twenty fifth year that The Bill has been on our screens in the UK. Heres a little poem that I have written celebrating this fact. I hope you enjoy.
Twenty Five Years In A Nutshell
Many years ago Geoff McQueen dreamt up The Bill
Giving us twenty five years of the folks from Sun Hill,
He introduced a young lad to the beat
"Right Carver lets do it," you've got burglars to defeat,
June Ackland quickly took him under her care
Before too long Yorkie and Viv joined them there,
Each week Taffy and Reg bemused Canley masses
With Tony Stamp, who had no luck with lasses,
Sergeants Penny, Peter and Cryer ran the relief
Leaving CID to catch that troublesome thief,
Roy Galloway gave everyone a good tongue lashing
He bossed Ted and Mike, who was rather dashing,
In charge of them all, Charles Brownlow ran the show
Keeping bumbling Derek Conway close in tow,
These brave souls would not be defeated
Even when the original cast slowly depleted.
Along came newbies Tosh, Frazer and Brind
With Melvin arresting vagrants who'd sinned,
Frank Burnside arrived with his deviant glares
Later, Kim Reid and Sally ruled upstairs.
But things at Sun Hill was not that easy
Some of the coppers turned out to be quite sleazy,
Remember Tom Chandler and Gabriel Kent!
Even Don Beech was totally bent!
We buried Cass, John Bolton and Jo
Even said goodbye to those feet at the end of the show,
We gained Cameron Tait an Australian cop
Sent George Garfield down under, rather an unfair swap,
Ken Drummond blinded us with his colourful shirts
Slightly more outrageous than Rod Skase's flirts,
Dave married a nurse and sent Polly's heart a flutter
Brandon Kane fought off Cathy Bradford, the nutter,
Debbie McAllister then flirted with Jack
He'd be okay with Mickey watching his back,
Kerry and Luke met and got wed
Unbeknown to her he'd had Craig in his bed,
Hurricane Gina flew into the station
Even the Radford's stood up to attention.
There were searches for Amy and Abi Nixon
Ramani got stalked, Des bombed the station.
With riots and drive bys on the Jasmine Allen Estate
It now falls to John Heaton to determine their fate,
He's not alone to fight his quest
There's plenty of officers ready to make an arrest,
There's Smithy, Roger and clever Beth Green
Terry, Jo Masters helping Sam Nixon on scene.
We've shared the characters trials, tribulations and tears
So heres to The Bill and the next twenty five years!
If you enjoy The Bill there is a really good website called The Bill Unofficial Website which I mod on, heres the link you may find several more of my poems on there:
