Many of you have already read many times my personal feelings on handhelds. Even during my school days (12 - 16) when almost everybody made Pokemon beg for mercy (now everybody's begging for mercy that Pokemon ends...oh well) I was never really that high on them. For sure it was the small screen that made things difficult for me, the small structure when holding it felt weird to me and then there was the brightness of the screen itself. Over the years more handhelds came and went along with some interesting games.
Well that all changes soon. Both my Wii and PS3 need some gaming love along with some new games to keep me occupied. Come of think of it, we're in August and I still haven't done much on SmackDown 2009. FAIL, lightning, work on your creations before you forget. Other than that, I still am doubting myself when it comes to buying the fighting games of 2009, especially Street Fighter 4 along with the Wii not having any big hits until the end of the year such as New Super Mario Bros Wii and many more coming in 2010. Don't get me wrong, they are some games for the Wii such as Muramasa: The Demon Blade and DragonBall: King Piccolo's Revenge, but I don't see these selling well. Not like that matters to me, I invest in a game and took a risk in the process which is something we all do. That last part was mostly to people who complain about buying games for a console that they don't like and stuff.
Long story short, by April next year when my PS3 reaches a full year, I am hopefully to invest on a DSi. Pretty much a black DSi too. One of the sole reasons why I would consider it over the PSP would easily be the insanely huge game library it provides and that it covers almost every game genre that is guaranteed to catch your interest in one way or another. You like RPGs, Final Fantasy is the way to go. Or if you're tired of Cloud and Sephiroth, Chrono Trigger and Dragon Quest can do a world of good. Want some of Nintendo's core mascots? Mario Kart, New Super Mario Bros, Super Mario 64 DS, Yoshi's Island DS, StarFox Command, Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass and many more work well. Puzzle-happy? Tetris all the way and Planet Puzzle League. Also, massive 3rd-party support too. One of the things to me that makes the Wii so weak game library wise is not the case for the DSi.
And thus far, that's the best I can finish this blog with. Laters.
