Halloween is finally behind us and that can only mean one thing... November is here and with it all the games that I've been dying to play!
I've decided to pass on Dragon Age: Origins for the time being as a game that involved should probably be saved until I have a lot of free time not devoted to new releases. It looks amazing but I simply won't have the time for it and by the time I do hopefully it will be cheap.
November 10 is the day that I have circled, underlined, starred and highlighted on my calendar. Modern Warfare 2 has become the game that I have wanted the most in a long time. I thought Beatles: Rock Band was going to be that but while it was great I really could have waited to get it. MW2 is a midnight launch purchase. I've already set up some multiplayer matches with some of the guys that I work with who will also be picking the game up at midnight. I CANNOT wait.
On November 17 Left 4 Dead 2 will make its way into the house. I know what you're thinking... two shooters? Well, L4D2 is more for my gf than it is for me. It's her MW2 with the level of excitement. If I had to ask her I KNOW she would say it was the GoTY last year... she just loved it and with all the refinements in gameplay I'm sure we'll log many, many hours on this puppy.
Assassin's Creed 2 also launches that day but with two new gaming purchases in two weeks there just won't be enough fundage to be spending money like a sailor on leave. This will too be put off until a point in 2010 when I have a ton of free time but I'm pretty sure the remained of 2009 will be filled with MW2.
Then once 2010 rolls around there is Alpha Protocol, Splinter Cell: Conviction, Mass Effect 2 and a few others. For the first time in a long time I really think that there are a lot of games coming down the pike that I cannot wait to play.
In the meantime I'm still slogging through RE5 mostly as a way to keep busy and so I can finish it up by the time Nov 10 rolls around.
The game's not bad but since its my first RE since Code Veronica I have no idea what's really going on. I just feel like I dropped into the middle of a season of 24... I have no idea who's who or what the hell's going on. I find myself almost forcing myself to play it just as a means of not rushing out and buying something cheap just to fill time when that money could be spent elsewhere.
What are you guys looking forward to most? Are we gonna have some GS MW2 gamenights in the future? Are you pumped for something a little under the radar? Let me know... I'm curious.
Take care and happy gaming.

I went to a gaming expo last week and got to play a little bit of Left 4 Dead2. It looked good and the addition of other things to kill with like a guitar or a frying pan should be interesting, but all in all I am a bit "meh" about it.
I saw Dragon's Age too, and yes I hear you on leaving that for a while. I need some quiet time to spend with my RPGs, I still haven't finished Fallout, which is a real labour of love for me, and I can wait for another RPG.
