I saw G.I. Joe yesterday. Truly, this is a bad movie. I've never been one to say that dialogue in a movie is badly written, but in this movie, it was as plain as day. The dramatic scenes fail because of of that. It's pretty obvious when you look at the relationship of the characters. Duke and Baroness are suppose to once have been in love, but it really doesn't look like it. At a certain point in the movie, she recalls her past with Duke. What does she remember? A makeout scene... Nevermind that they were engaged. That's not her happiest moment... Then, there is the relationship with Ripcord and Scarlett. It's staircase love. In other words, she dislike/teases him while he tries to court her and it just escalates with bad lines. Lastly, there is Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes. Storm Shadow called Snake Eyes his brother, but he never liked him in his life. They had one really one sided battle and that was it and a few skirmishes.
There is just a lot of things that bother me with this movie. If any secret army group had the equipment of G.I. Joe there would be no wars. Why? Because no one could afford it anymore... Most importantly, the action scene were not exiting at all... And I always like a good action scene. THIS IS MY WORST SUMMER MOVIE!!!
I've never paid attention to the cartoon and this movie sure as hell doesn't deserve a sequel. It's barely breaking even on its 170 million budget with 207 million.
