Well I've decided to take a break from all the work I'm suppose to be doing and write a bit about some of the best movies i've seen recently. You should get an idea from the cheesy title that the movies that struck me most were Quantum of Solace, Body Of Lies and The Dark Knight.
Now I know what you're thinking, The Dark Knight is soo last summer get over it already. However the DVD just came out a couple of days ago and I just placed my order, so I cant wait to see that amazing movie on my shelf and at my disposal at any time ![]()
The other blockbuster was obviously the new Bond movie, Quantum Of Solace. Daniel Craig displays yet another amazing performace as the new Bond's transition from the gadgetized-noone-can-touch-me agent we're used to, to the hey-look-i-can-actually-take-a-punch-or-two action hero. Even if the story isnt exactly clear, the action and high momentum make up for all that and it all comes down to one of my favorite movies of the year.
The third movie i want to talk about is Body Of Lies, starring Leonardo Di Caprio and a very fat Russel Crowe. The stroy sees Di Caprio fighting terrorists in the middle east while Crowe eats his doughnuts and sips his coffee back in the US. Again the action is amazing and really gives you a feel of whats really happening in those countries.
Its movies like these that make me look back at 2008 and say "Hey it wasnt so bad after all". Even with the credit crunch, the world collapsing in front of us, Italy knocked out in the quarter finals and most dreadfully, seeing Inter lift another Scudetto...All things considered, at least we'll remember 2008 for the awesome movies it provided. ![]()
As university started to kick in, and work started piling up, the holiday season started. Christmas is a time for all people who appreciate gaming to enjoy the incredible wave of games that come our way. The only thing is that it disturbs work, but i think we'll be able to cope with that ![]()
I currently have 17 icons on my desktop, 11 of which are games. Now these vary from Audiosurf/Guitar Hero/Far Cry 2 to the inevitable FM/PES/FIFA, but the game i find myself obsessed with at this very moment is the smallest most addictive of them all - World Of Goo. This little 2D Goo-ey game is really the best arcade game since tetris, a game that even with all the frustration it produces, you still cant look away until its over. Having said that its not something that'll take days to complete but its puzzles really require patience, steadiness and a vague idea of physics. When i saw this little game on GS, seeing its incredible 9.0 score, i had to give it a try and i wasnt at all disappointed.
As if having this little wonder on my pc isnt disturbing enough i still have Far Cry 2 and Need for Speed Undercover (AKA Most Wanted 3 years later) on my to do list. However i'm pretty confident that i'll forget all about these little disturbances on Tuesday when my most anticipated game of the year arrives for us PC owners, GTAIV. Now I'm sure its all old news for console owners but dont take away our thunder ok lads?
I just hope it doesnt have any bugs like San Andreas did for the PC, but I'm pretty confident R* will take care of thier gem and offer the best experiance for everyone. I'll be sure to update you on what i think of the game after a few hours of playing it, but dont expect me to be in contact with the outside world on Tuesday. I need to concentrate ![]()
Finally, I'd like to remind you all to participate in the discussions going on at the SAU. We are soon going to announce our team of the year and everyone will be eligable to vote, so give us some ideas on who you think should be among the best
So a lot has changed since my last update. For one i got into university and adjusted to the new lifestyle and everything, even if i;m still trying to find the balance between work and play
Another thing i just noticed is that i just hit level 35 on GS 'Stitches'. To me the only purpose of the leveling system is to show you how long you've been coming to this site and when i see that its been almost 5 years since my join date Jan6th 2004, I start to think that without GS and this community, even with all its flaws, i would have never met all the great friends i have now.
I think its quite obvious that the few people who know me are from the Soccer Addict Union. Established in March 2005, the SAU has made incredible achievements to become one of the top 10 unions on a video gaming site, just by talking about our passion and doing some competitions once in a while. Seriously anyone who likes Football (or Soccer), come on over and say hi ![]()
