So there are two different Samsungs on sale at Futureshop, and I wanna know which one would be a better buy and why?

#1 - Samsung 32" Flat-Panel LCD HDTV (LN32A450)

#2 - Samsung 32" 1080p LCD HDTV (LN32A550)

So the first one is $699 Canadian and is 720p, but the the $200 one is 1080p. I know that the second one is much better, just cause it's 1080p, but what do you guys think? This TV screen will be replacing my 19in LG monitor and become my new monitor and TV for watching stuff, going on the computer, and playing both PC and console games. Is the 200 dollar difference worth it? Thank you all in advance. Or if you guys suggest anything please tell me.

That's a tough call. If you have or are planning to get HD-cable or a console that can go into 1080p, the extra $200 might be worth it. If not, you might wanna just get the $700 one. The picture quality's gonna be great no matter what.

The thing about 1080p TVs is that you can't really tell the difference from more than a couple feet away. So if you're gonna put this TV on your desk and sit up close in a chair, the 1080p will come in handy. If you're sitting on a couch across the room, you can't tell the difference between a 720p and 1080p set. For what it's worth, I have the first one and I love it.

Hmm, I don't know much about TVs but if you're going to be gaming on it then a 1080p would come in handy but like the others said, the quality should be great on either one
