How come American shows put so much pressure on today’s teenagers, for example, in shows such as Life as we know, the o,c, 7th heaven and one tree hill, just to mention a few. In these shows the people who play teenagers are in fact all over 20 years old. So many teenagers actually believe that you supposed to be that developed. Many teenagers who I know feels bad about themselves because they want to have the same mature point of view as these so called teenagers. These teenagers are in fact just some made up teenagers that some writers think are correct. I’m will tell you how I see a normal teenager, a normal 17 year old goes to school every day, hang out with his or her friends after school, get some school work done, on the weekends he or her will go out to party with their friends a drink alcohol. In a show, these teenagers have a high stand in politics, philosophy and this 17 year old would never even considering sex or alcohol before it’s legal. And if he or her might drink anyway the person would tell his or her parents and then the family would send the child away to therapy. This 17 year old would also have some difficulties in saying I love you to his girl/boy friend, and it would be a big deal if he/her actually said it without meaning it. I mean, in o.c Marissa and Luke been together since they were like 10 years old, as we jump in, in the beginning of the show, they are both almost 17 years old, and they haven’t got sex with each other, is this something that actually happens in real life, are teenagers really this morally correct, or is this some picture Hollywood writers think is the best for American teenagers to see, so the teenagers who watch the show might get the same moral as the once in the show. Why are Hollywood producers making the all day teenager look like he/her his every parents dream, even the so called bad kids on the block in these shows have morale barrier, they wouldn’t do something to a unconscious person, or they wouldn’t beat up a person to much, there are always some kid who says NO. is this correct, to make these innocent viewers think that this is how you really should behave, or should every teenager live the teenagers life. I watch many of these shows and enjoy them, but I also laugh at them, because what they are really doing is that they are mocking me, because I’m a teenager. And if I was in one of these shows I would be the one ending up with a gun in school. The parents, the shows, and the us government are putting to much pressure on today’s teenager. Is this correct ??? Only you could tell me.!!!!
