Phew! Sixty hours into Oblivion and I'm still on level 10. I'm not even halfway through the main quest and I've hardly explored a dozen dungeons.

I'm going to stop. No doubt Oblivion is one of the best RPG's ever made, but putting it bluntly, Oblivion is flawed. NPC interaction is constricted, the AI is coarse, and most NPC's seem to enjoy behaving out of character. Of course, you're too sucked in at the beginning (say the first twenty hours) to notice, but eventually, every object (yup, even my new shiny enchanted dwarven armor), every NPC and every quest seem like the same.
Like the title says, I'm burnt out.

So I'm taking a breather, and looking at what's been happening in the other world. Er...I mean the real world. It's incredibly amazing, actually. Not having to see shiny faces with pointed ears, no pixelated rocks or jagged edges, and best of all, not having to listen to the story of the Daedra being driven out of K'vatch for the umpteenth time.

So that's about it. I've still got to see if the Gray Fox is for real, so I'm not quitting. Not yet. Oblivion still has far too many treasures for an adventurer, goblins for a skirmisher, undead for a dungeon delver, and vampires for a vigilante to hunt down - and I'm game. Well, in a week or two, at any rate.

Ten hours on weekends for two weekends. That's forty hours. The rest twenty hours were scraped between classes, labs and an hour everyday before hitting the bed. And yes, College work has piled up! Should have plenty of time on my hands now that I've stopped playing it. I looked up the 7600GS and it appears to be a clear winner (in it's category). I can't believe it retails for much less than what I paid for a 6600GT an year ago!

what can i say................. and U have holidays on saturdays too? ooh yeahI forgot that it is so for all Univ Colleges Get Xfire man it will track the amount of time u played the game.

Yup, there's plenty of "free" time - and I have no idea where it vanishes. (apart from gaming, obviously)

Congratulations on your new card - although the purchase does seem rather ill timed. Directx10 will be out in a few months, and so will directx 10 cards. Whether you upgrage to vista or not, those cards (in the category retailing at the same price as the one you're buying) will run directx9 games much better than the present ones. In any case, current directx9 cards (Geforce 7 series) should witness a major price drop as soon as the new hardware is released.

Well, No matter What Prices will drop, and We cant Do anything about it. and I dont lan on buying a DX10 card any sooner than 2009? (I had my Geforce 4ti for three years and it went VERY well with all those games) for the price dorops example, I saw a Geforce 7300 Retailing for 5400 oie day and the next day itself I saw them for 4100 rupees...(TRUE) I. Its only importamnt for me if I get it WHEN I want If I waste time waiting for a price drop.. There weot be anything happy to rejoice for as It will son drop to even lower prices.

Point noted. That is pretty much the reason I bought a 6600GT when I did. But the price drop I'm talking about is huge - especially if the graphics industry behemoths come out with mid-range directx 10 cards. And besides, its hard to not drool once you've seen a crysis trailer...
I'm not saying buying a graphics card now is a bad idea - after all, people need to play! I'm saying the new stuff will be unlike anything we've ever seen; more reasons than necessary to go get a dx10 card.

BTW only Vista can USE DX10 cards.. and that for US to be usable will take a YEAR atleast:p so by then it wil be two years after me buying the card... I upgrade every two years.. so MAYBE jus MAYBE i will lucky enough to get a upgrade a THAT time too

also who is ur friend dileep ishe in guwahati too? nevr talked to and he has no blogs to talk in

Well, yes. It's rather obvious that we're still a couple of years away from playing mainstream dx10 titles. But that's not the point. Dx10 cards will have unified pixel and vertex shaders (whatever that means. I'm being all cargo cult here, but I don't claim to understand what's happening), and a ton of other features that will drastically improve image quality and performance of dx9 titles, while running in dx9 mode. See for instance, anandtech's article on Oblivion and how thye expect it to run on dx10 cards ( in dx9 mode). Which is why I believe mid-range dx10 cards (if and when they do come out) will rock.

And Dileep's an old pal from my school. He's an uber-gamer (he'll pwn you at CS any day), and he's studying electrical engg. at iitm. You can contact him if you want to, and possibly induct him into some union of yours.

DX10 cards will OBVIOUSLY be a Lot better than now, and it will make rendering in DX 9 Better,( i mean I agree) and also if U play COD 2 in Dx7 rendering U can get Ultimate performace(as if there was no strain at all) in all high settings

as for CS, almost anyone can beat me I never played tht thing... But UT i dont think its THAT easy to beat me... I am no "info eating" archive geek if U were wondering..Have many achievements under my belt(maybe got mixed up with some other phrase) too u know
